- (Part Two) In today's video I return to Disney's Magic Kingdom for the first day of cast member previews for Tiana's Bayou Adventure which was a total disaster! I also take you around the park to ride some attractions and show you a few updates. After taking a mid afternoon break back at French Quarter we hop on a bus to get back to Magic Kingdom to close out the night. We have dinner at Liberty Tree Tavern and watch Happily Ever After! Disney is being so poorly led right now - I feel bad for hard-working cast members, but it’s going to continue to get worse until leadership changes
They tried to during the board members vote they voted to keep the same people in charge instead of changing we could of had new board members but Disney bought out and everyone’s vote to keep it the same

Came for Disney, stayed for dev. This has been the last 3 years for me. I have zero interest in universal or cruising but I watch every video because I find dev interesting and relatable. However, dev at disney is everything I needed. I've been feeling sad and down and seeing you do disney for yourself and not for a job is so refreshing. I love the casual vlogs where you enjoy yourself but also add in some new updates without making it so "newsy". Dev at disney❤

You're lucky. You can go back whenever you want to ride Tiana's. I can't be that positive. We have to take time off work, pay for airfare and we have a limited number of days at the park. We aren't so positive. Do better Disney.
People fail to realize that Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is NOT a new ride. It is an old ride with a fresh coat of paint.
The old splash mountain to be exact, but many may not be old enough to remember.
The way TBA is running is completely different though. This one is triggering sensors to play the animatronic sequences instead of all scenes being a loop, which is better because every time you ride it it will seem like a new thing every time. Sensors on boat rides like these will often be inaccurate and can be plagued with issues, and it's a complete fail on Disney for implementing this on a ride that needs to be reliable.

Leadership issues at Disney- maintenance has been a problem for several years now (among other problems).
And the Japanese parks, Oriental Land Company don’t get any of that stuff
How could they ignore the mechanics of the ride during the shutdown? New whistles and bells mean nothing if it doesn't run

I never experienced anything like this at Universal parks on new rides. That might be very disappointing for people going there on a lifetime vacation…
The ride has been struggling severely since before previews even started..sucks 😢
I get exhausted when I watch vloggers at Disneyworld. You had over 20,000 steps and even rested in the afternoon. There is no tired like Disney tired 😮

How many times has he done this, gets mad rips on Disney then needs views, goes back to Disney sings it's praises rinse and repeat. He's just often a reactionary over emotional over pretty much nothing. In the end he will do what is needed for getting views to his channel.
I fell there are too many problems with disney and cost even if your a florida resident are way too high compared to universal.

It's actually really sad how underwhelming the ride really is. It's not even officially open and it's a mess already. I feel Disney rushed and came up with something that people will love to hate moving forward. It's a shame cuz I love Prince and the frog and was hoping they came up with more
What a fiasco!!! If Disney couldn't handle the crowds and have enuff cast members on hand shame on them for NOT preparing for this event.

Six Flags is more reliable than Disney. That’s where we are with this cheap hollow company.
...or maybe have a brand new attraction that actually works would be nice. Also it's boring AF and multiple segments with nothing but darkness. That's just not a great way to make a good impression.
@@derradune6722 Buddy, nobody even rode the attraction. Previews are for disappointing guests? Make sure the ride is mechanically sound and ready to run if you are planning an “event” like this.

What a disaster
Clearly Disney rushed Tiana’s to compete with everything universal is doing this summer. This ride isn’t ready and it shouldn’t be breaking down for hours and it’s not even open yet. Those poor cast members I hope Disney makes it up to them.

On the other hand.. I just came back from Fantasy Springs opening day at Tokyo DisneySea park with 3 attractions that are more technically impressive to an old redo such as Tiana’s splash mountain. And those rides performed admirably well on opening day. Only the Peter Pan 3d adventure closed due to technical issues only 20 mins before the park was to close. Yet wdw can’t get a decades old ride to perform consistently. That’s sad and embarrassing.
While I too am happy some of the Disney magic remains, it is the total guest experience that counts. For far too long Disney has been increasing prices and costs while the value and overall experience declines precipitously. The event you were scheduled to attend at a new attraction was NEVER scheduled until the attraction had been operating (empty) for at least a week.
What did you expect...this is Disney now. Tiana's is boring, unimaginative, busted and broken. And it's not even open to the general public yet.

Sorry Dev. Tiana's looks very disappointing. I have seen many different opinions about the ride and the majority say it could and should have been done better. Tiana probably deserved her own ride and they should have left splash mountain alone.

Even if the preview didn't work out, it was nice to see you find some of that "magic" in a Disney park. I know there is much to complain about with Disney and how they are running things these days (which you have made clear numerous times), but it was really nice to see you enjoy the Magic Kingdom, even if plans didn't go to plan.
This was a surprise emotional roller coaster video for me. The love Dev felt being back in the parks, and the frustration that still exists with Disney's seeming unable to do things correctly sums it up for many of us. We LOVE Disney, we MISS Disney, but they just haven't been good enough lately . I was really turned off by the cast member & her "when or IF we open" announcement. I remember how even when they cast members said things we didn't want to hear, there was a caring, magical tone. This felt like a subway breakdown announcement, handling people. SMH
The other thing I didn't really understand is this was a theming change, not a new ride. So why so much mechanical failure? Isn't that still the same as it always was, but with different "window dressing"? Also got emotional over the resort. My last cancelled trip we were going to stay at either the French Quarter or Riverside. Haven't been to either, and really want to (a Princess room still tops my personal list). I can't imagine never going back, and just the fireworks showed there is always magic there. But the ending summed it up for me. I refuse to wake up at 7am on vacation to make a ride reservation. 7am is anti-vacation IMHO!!! Off to watch yesterdays vid...hadn't had time.

We went to Disney last summer, pirates of the Caribbean was broken down and we got the exact same attitude word for word when asking about the ride. I know they were probably asked from other guests but you should really do better when talking to paying guests.
Well to me this was a fitting "welcome back" to someone who is openly disgusted with Disney. Not to mention the fact that it's even more racist than it ever was as Splash Mountain.

Disney has lost its magic. under payed employees. over priced everything. rushed to build things and not properly complete. had to bring back Bob Iger, Screwed up EPCOT with the new updates. (except guardians) but maybe marvel should of been part of Hollywood Studios an expansion there. and not make things political. but they got way to PC and stop making the parks fun. i understand a lot of people will disagree with me. but ive been going since 1990 and since 2010. its changed a lot. too much.
I fully understand that people put their heart and soul into the parks. I always fly to Florida from Germany because I like the country and the parks so much. But maybe you're a little over the top with a theme park attraction. Nobody died, nobody went hungry, it's just a theme park attraction.

I haven’t been back to Disney in a really long time due to very many frustrations I’ve had with them and how they are operating (I became strictly a UOAP) but I am currently planning a return trip. And excited to feel that Disney magic again.

Maybe the first new ride critique video I've seen where the creator (and apparently everyone else) couldn't get on the ride. Magical.
We were in the park when the cast members were trying to ride. I think it was rushed and the cast members got screwed. Disappointing for everyone who didn't get to ride on their day off.
I don’t understand how this ride is not ready, yet they do a whole premier of it? It’s basically the same ride that it was just with new theming. How hard can it be? It should be tested a hundred times before opening. What a disappointment to so many 😖
I agree. They are using the previews as the testing for this ride and the people are the guinea pigs.

@@luvadventuresandart yes exactly, they are “testing” which should be done before the public/media/ or cast members are introduced to avoid this exact scenario. A brief hiccup, sure, but to this level nah.
@nicoleashley8235 they did test before the cast members went on for one! Another the people who tested before these cast members were also cast members. They also put dummies prior to humans so......

I got to ride it last Saturday. It's decent but they did nothing to the 30 year old ride system. We got evac'd on our 2nd trip around. It's not bad for what it is, which is just a straight scenic swap out from Splash to Tiana. I'm surprised they didn't try to improve the operational aspects (or at least it doesn't appear they did. I don't know.) The new animatronics and lighting effects are great!
Amazon has a fan that hangs around your neck like a lanyard that is amazing. I’ve had a few for my mom and daughter that we’ve been using for a few years and just recently purchased two more for when the batteries die and I have to charge them. One of the best $20 purchases I’ve ever made. Lol!
We just bought those for our recent trip to Universal Florida and it made all the difference!! Big game changer for parks like these!! 😊
@@thewannabegamer9 Yes! When first timers ask what to get before going to the parks I always say these fans and an umbrella. They both make a huge difference in staying cool with our scorching sun and staying dry with our spontaneous Florida showers. 😁

Disney is a shell of its former self and the cost is ridiculous. Maybe Universal can return us to the old experience.

@@the50thJackieO nothing has changed. Just spend 5 days with the 4 park pass, the parks weren’t the same as in my past visits but it nickel and dimes the customers to death.
I feel so bad for the cast members who have to run this ride! With all of the breakdowns, I know some people aren't as nice with the news!
Disney is an embarrassment. It's not a new ride, just a retheme, it should not be breaking down like this! They obviously felt pressure because Universal is on fire atm.

Im sad because I WANTED this to be better than Splash. I even see some parts I loved, like the lights shining like they did through the bottles(needed some actual bottles along with the lights though) but I wouldve liked the Dr Facilier drop too.

Ride is a snooze fest
Hate the Cast Members’ best opportunity to ride is getting tarnished by breakdowns. Glad to see y’all pull up to Disney World again but gosh things are not running smoothly! I’m gonna be there opening day. Hope the attraction doesn’t break down a bunch and shut people out! They opened up a bit too soon for guests to experience and it shows

Man I’m so sorry the company has been transformed into this… idk… the parks used to be the place where Disney was still king… now it’s like this thing where you could feel like you’ve been ripped off at any turn, at any moment of your visit… I used to feel truly welcomed and like I was getting so much more for each buck spent at the parks…
The ride is trash. They gutted it and replaced it with a couple animatronics and a screen. Creatively bankrupt
You obviously really like Disney. I do too. Sorry about Tiana’s but you made the best of it even though things didn’t go as planned.
You didn't miss much by missing the Preview of the Tianas Bayou. From what I can tell, Disney has completely dropped the ball with this ride. There isn't any fun, excitement or tension left leading up to the big drop. All elements that made Splash Mountain one of a kind is missing in the new ride. New is not always better.

It's nice to see you guys at a Disney park again. Tiana's looks great. Every time I see a video, I notice something new. People expect way too much. It sucks that they are having issues, but that is part of the reason they do these cast previews to test the ride and make sure it is ready for normal guest to go on. This is a 30 year old ride with a new theme. It isn't a brand new ride. It was down for a year.
Dr. Facilier died, so he not being in the ride makes sense. They made spash mountain cute and fun and not scary at all anymore. I do wish there was some suspense, but I am okay with the new theme. I love Tiana's.
I would agree with your point about mechanics not working during the previews, except many part of ROTR don’t work (Kylo Ren, the cannons), major features of the ride. Disney has yet to fix them. They also refuse to fix 7 Dwarves mine train queue. The list goes on. Dr. Facilier dying has no bearing if they added new stories to the ride.
@@ericluchman3874 You can't add a dead character, this ride takes place after the movie ends. They could have put some of the friends from the other side for suspense. It's a shame that Disney let's some stuff go and doesn't fix it. We were watching a show on space ship earth and they literally put a black curtain over a bunch of cool old props. You would think they would fix them and that would be better than just darkness. I think it was the last TMV ride malfunction vlog that showed it.
After the rough start to previews, I'm seriously considering just skipping my AP preview and riding it after it opens. Today, the ride didn't open until around noon so that means all of the people from the 7 am VQ drop need to ride and people like me who couldn't get reservations for MK and have to try to get in the 1pm drop will be there all day waiting around. I really wish they handled this AP preview like they handled the Cosmic Rewind preview where you got an email, you sign up for your time, and you show up. I'm really looking forward to riding it but not waiting around in the 96 degree sun.

Hi. Which day did you go? June 5th? We had reservations for the 1030 morning of. We waited for over an hour, then the ride started up. My daughter was SO HAPPY! (We had the purple wrist bands)
"It's all about primacy."... But...hey, when Disneyland opened in 1955 Walt had a lot of problems with a few rides, crowds, the summer heat, even the asphalt; women's shoe heels were sinking through the asphalt. Disney in the end will get it together... I hope for their sake.

I miss the Disney magic, but I don't miss all the hassle of getting onto a ride, spending way too much money on food and drinks, and spending far too long waiting for buses at the end of the day. My daughter and I have watched a lot of videos about the current state of Disney, and she understands why we aren't planning to go to Disney again anytime soon.
BUT she did say "I know we hate Disney now, but I MISS Disney" and I totally agree. She almost grew up going to Disney, and I think our best memory is being in Magic Kingdom on a night when the park closed at 1:00 am, and getting foot-long hot dogs at Casey's Corner and just soaking in all the happiness.

That really sucks for Cast Members especially because like you said its their day off and they can't guarantee they will get a day to experience the ride :/ Disney should have come up with better options because if there is anyone that deserves a preview its Cast Members who deal with so many people, who can be often shitty to them :/
...the cast member sounded so irritated about the ride being closed and a line. I remember Haunted Mansion was down at rope drop and that CM was so much fun, making jokes, taking pics with people....What is happening to these parks man.
When are you going to Hong Kong Disney for the new Frozen Land? Looks amazing. Disney needs to duplicate that here in Florida with the expansion proposed. Florida native born and raised on Disney World culture and miss the old magincal Disney.
My favourite rides are Peter Pan's flight and Rocky Mountineer, love those rides. The meal in Liberty Tree dinner looked awesome
It doesn't matter what people think of the retheme. Tiana's is gonna devour crowds this summer. It's the only water ride in the park that gets people wet. So, it will be refreshing in this FL heat.
That's facts. It's having issues, but it's better to get everything fixed now before the official opening.

I miss splash mountain I loved riding it in 2019 I got the back row and didn't get a tiny bit wet
We do have to remember that on the opening day of Disneyland there was barely anything there and everything went wrong so let's give the you know a small pass here although they really asked who have learned from that opening day again this is a new crew and sometimes people who get hired in to do things aren't necessarily fit for the routine because they don't know or care to understand the history of these parts as much as others might. How these people get into positions of power is beyond me😅 but it is what it is little ignorance is no excuse it does explain an awful lot sadly🎉

Dev i love you started the video with Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah which was my favorite part of Splash after the big drop. Its a happy song i always sang on the ride and ill sing it when i ride Tiana's. I hope to get annual pass preview on the 17th but im at the mercy of the Virtual queue

Isn’t the point of previews to work out the bugs before it officially opens for guests.
Ride outages and bad weather in Florida is the main reason I like annual passes besides the cost savings annually.
