Its videos like this that Mammoth club does, that I adore. They didn't just go and ride the ride and talk about what their experience of the ride was. They honor the history and culture of New Orleans and do a really good job of providing that explanation to their audience. Well done

@@codiewoodhouse1988 absolutely. I watched like 3 Tiana videos before theirs dropped. And they were like, oh the que is cute, look an Easter egg, wow the animatronic are awesome, so here is my thoughts on the ride. Alan and Molly (and I sure max as well) really get into the story and I think it will make my next trip better because I will have such appreciation for what goes into the rides.

Exactly this! I love how they made sure to include the inspiration behind the Tiana character by giving homage to Leah Chase and her contribution to civil rights. They’re also the only folks so far to give us the background story behind the ride and the whole animal co-op storyline. Kudos Mammoth Club for always going the extra mile!

As a Louisiana Creole myself, I am so happy and PROUD to see all of the little nods and acknowledgment of our presence in this story, which was glaringly missing in the movie despite using our culture as decoration (and our religion as an antagonist). From the different genres of Creole music, to Eudora referencing ancestors, to Leah Chase getting her flowers, to the news clipping of her father being written in French. We’ve always claimed Tiana as one of us, but it’s truly wonderful to see Tiana claim us back!

The Imagineers put so much thought, research, and care into this ride, and I love learning about all of that history and forethought! I loved seeing all of the details and easter eggs. The background of the artist and how he was affected by Katrina and how he picked up his paintbrush years later and now made a positive and beautiful work for Disney has me bawling. So much of our history was lost in Katrina. I loved the touch of the ironwork. Ironwork was a very important skill of some enslaved people (a few were allowed to make and keep a bit of money from their work). Formerly enslaved people with these skills were able to support themselves with this beautiful work. Thank you so much for that. Thank you for this!!! I love how you gently reminded the viewers that actual people worked very hard on this re-theme... I know some people struggle with change in general, and Splash was an icon for many (though I never quite understood the fan-base for it 🤔) but it's important to know why they made the change and how beautiful that is ❤.
I am very excited to see it in person, I didn't love Splash Mountain, even though I typically enjoy water rides. I absolutely LOVE 'The Princess and the Frog', and it's awesome to see such a great movie get more representation in the parks!

At first I wondered how a review of this ride could be nearly an hour, but silly me forgot how amazingly detailed and loving yall are in going into the history, details, and nuance of everything you do! I loved Splash growing up, definitely a classic and I also love Tiana so glad the new ride seems to have given both the love they deserve. Splash needed TLC as you said, and what a perfect setting to give Tiana a ride she deserves! Now we just need a Tangled attraction in the states so Rapunzel isn't just left with bathrooms lol

Wow! Thank you for this. There’s been a lot of (unnecessary and exaggerated) negativity around this ride and this has just been so lovely to watch. You two are great - hope you know this video does a lot more than persuade us to go on this ride, there’s a sense of comfort and warmth to your videos in general :)

I think I can speak for everyone when I say The Mam Fam is eternally grateful for you two and your commitment to valuable content (plus Max!!) First, I love the two of you together, your love of Disney and just life in general is special. I had previously commented that DFB did a very good review, however; I learned so much more from your review. You really add to the story by including all the New Orleans history, the legends and Tiana’s back story. Splash was my favorite ride, but I’m so excited to ride this retheme, it looks beautiful!! I also love that you remind us how hard the imagineers worked. As much as I loved Splash it had become sad to see all the broken animatronics. Nothing stays the same, embrace change and enjoy the ride!

As someone who named my daughter Evangeline after this movie, we are very excited. Also as someone who had another daughter OBSESSED with making her mom scream on splash mountain, I'm excited for a happier story. The splash mountain story was kind of dark and always put my daughter on edge.

Same! My daughter loves watching me get soaked and loves the drop, but the darker elements of Splash scared her a bit. Having a ride that is a WHOLE bop and party throughout is so much fun! We already experienced Tiana's dramatic storyline in the movie. I don't need a book report ride, I want a ride celebrating her happily ever after!

I don't know why, but Disney sure does love their gators/crocs. They've got Louis, Brutus and Nero from The Rescuers, Ebb and Flo from the Little Mermaid show, Sewernose de Bergerac from Rescue Rangers, Tick Tock, Captain Crocodile from Robin Hood, Crocosaurus from the Wuzzles, Br'er Gator, all the ones from Lion Guard (I know they all have names, but I can't remember them), the random gator musicians from the old Splash Mountain, and that one in Fantasia that dances with the hippo. I'm probably missing some, given how frequently Disney uses our scaly buddies.

I really appreciated your vlog! This was the first one I viewed that someone really took their time to go through the queue and explain a lot of the details. Love all the time & effort put into providing great info. They best put free tissues at the hallway with all the letters and a “you may get wet from all the tears you’ll have viewing that hallway” 😂. And like the need to ride several times to observe different details, I had been wondering where the frogs were in the finale but now noticed them on the ground playing just in front at the water lol!

Naveen’s note reads: Being born into royalty pales in comparison to watching my heart’s desire build an empire with her own hands. What you are creating is changing the city and I get to stand by your side… playing my ukulele. How did I get so lucky? Oh, yeah, I was driven by greed to make a deal by a magical charlatan, but that is ancient history haha. All that matters is that you have made me a better man, because the moment you accepted me into your life I became a real prince. Until the end of time, Naveen
