This clip is so moving along with the music. Combined, it really describes how swift yet lethal SRR was as a boxer but at the same time the flow of this sound sums up the beauty of his skill in the ring. I am a 90's kid but recently discovering about SRR and his achievements is as close as discovering gold - that's what this guy was no doubt. #truechamp

Sugar Ray has to be considered the best boxer of all time. He fought in a time where the level of coaches and training weren't high level and at a time when steroids weren't being abused by everyone. On top of all that his technique, fluidity, combinations and even his ability to fight on the inside whilst showing good defense is incredible and his left hook is one of the best ever. Sugar Ray is incredible considering he fought in the 50s,fought every month and had that much skill.

Old Mosely hurt Floyd a young Sugar Shane would get Floyd outta there . Chop Chop corley almost koed Floyd. Stop it please. The man was 5"11 with a 72 in. reach. saddest thing is business, politics, timing and even his own greatness denied him of fulfilling his full potential. he could have been the first lightweight to win a middleweight title if Sammy Anggott dared to depend his world lightweight title to Sugar Ray. he could have been the first welterweight champion to win a light heavyweight title if not because of the bad weather that made the Yankee stadium so hot. He could have been a world welterweight champion earlier and made more defenses if the war didn't broke out. He could have been reach an even greater heights if not all these things happened.

Robinson had more KOs (108) than Mayweather and Pacquiao have COMBINED WINS. That says it all in terms of his place at the top, to this day. SRR defeated 11 different TRUE champions (8 divisions not the countless phony ones which exist today) an astounding total of 23 times. This, despite stepping away from boxing for 2 & 1/2 years in his early 30s (1952-55).

    Boxing is a sport
All boxers has fans of their own its stupid to compare boxers to other generations of boxers.
Robinson time was different they were literally fighting almost every week so they can live.
I doubt Ray Robinson would've fought over 200 bouts if he made the same money as Mayweather that's the honest to God truth.
Life was rough for boxers in the 50s they had to fight and they had to fight often records was a big deal back then but its wasn't as big of a deal like today.
Because there were soo much great boxers in the 50s in order to reach a legendary status you had to fight and beat them.
Floyd Mayweather is hands down the best boxer in his GENERATION.
but to say he could beat Robinson is a bit of a joke because the question is "What Era could Floyd beat Robinson?"
    Because Robinson era was brutal.
The Gloves was smaller,Boxers was allow to grab,or pull down other boxers heads, the ref didn't get involved during the fight and they made sure a fighter took a real beating before stopping the fight.
Floyd wouldn't be comfortable or confidant in a fight where looking to the referee help was useless.
But the same would be for Robinson as well if he fought Floyd Mayweather in his Era, he would have a hard time with the increase of glove side and that a fighter could win just on counter punching alone without being aggressive.
so whose better is not so black and white.
I love and respect both fighters but I can't compare the two because of their era were soo damn different. you would have to really do some research before you can say this guy would beat that guy

I would say yes, specifically because of the fact that these guys never, and I mean never, took a break from training and fighting. Sugar Ray fought 200 fights in his career. This system of one fight every few months/years is so far behind the level of intensity Sugar's day had. He fought Jake LaMotta one October, had 4 fights before facing him again in February, just 4 months later, and then fought him a third time in that same month, with another fight between that rematch. The guy fought 2-3 fights a month on the regular, all year round. Yeah, he'd take a month off once in awhile, but that's just being smart. Rich, and smart.

Ok, then find another fighter who fought 200 times in his professional career, you can't. Sugar was brutal, he fought 3 times in 3 weeks. He would knock Mayweather out in 2016 and he would knock him out in 1950. The time has nothing to do with it. The man won 178 fights, 108 by knock out, most fighters had not even that much fights. This man was a genius, he was the inspiration for Muhammad Ali-s boxing style.
Sugar Ray Robinson was the best pound for pound boxer who ever stepped in the ring. He would have ripped Mayweather in pieces.

Mirsad Causevic Yes time has everything to do with it.Robinson time had smaller gloves vs Floyd Era where the gloves are bigger Robinson in his 200 plus Fight never face a Fighter as fast nor Moved alot like himself. its the same with Floyd the Fight between Floyd vs Ray isnt soo Black and white

It's very easy to claim to be the best boxer in history. Everyone can do that. That's why we have many boxers claiming to be The Best Of All Time.
But the only best of all time is Sugar Ray Robinson. His record speaks to himself. 128 fight and losing only one of them is no joke. He was unbeatable in his prime years. Not to mention the fact that he fought as much as 16 fights in a single year.
Even when he passed his prime, he was great.
Fighting a total of 200 and losing 19 one of them. He lost 15 fights after he was 36.
Named the best boxer P4P by many legends like Muhammad Ali, Joe Louis, Sugar Ray Leonard, Floyd Patterson, and much more....
He really is the greatest P4P of all time.

I disagree I haven't heard too many boxes say they are tbe I will say this if anybody has the right to claim TBE is Sugar Ray Robinson, Muhammad Ali, Mike Tyson, or Floyd Mayweather that's my opinion it is beyond me why anybody would say Robinson can knockout Floyd Mayweather I'm pretty sure he could if Floyd Mayweather Stood Still but that's not the Floyd I know the Floyd I know with use his brains and outbox I don't know who would win but I damn sho can say I don't picture either one losing

+Rastaman Miller Watch Castillo vs Mayweather 1. Injury or no injury, fighters from back in the day always fought my friend. Mayweather got beat up, battered and beat to the punch. They robbed Castillo because Mayweather had the better record and more potential in the boxing world. If they would have gave Castillo the win, that castillo rightfully deserved. Then Mayweather's name would not be as big and he could have still done record breaking numbers but Mayweather would have never retired 2 times in a row

    • @mybrotha8144
      @mybrotha8144 8 лет назад

Rafael Murillo Castillo? Are you talking about that guy that was two weight classes above Mayweather the guy who has the wrap one arm around Mayweather's waste so he can punch with the other one because he can't land a clean punch on Floyd unless he's holding Floyd please watch that fight again Floyd outboxed him yeah he had a couple of heavy shots not on Floyd's face but on the body but they were far in between and the only reason they seem heavy was because he's two weight classes above Floyd other than that Floyd landed more shots he landed the cleaner shots Floyd doesn't have to hold onto his opponent's chest to land a shot. It was a good fight it could go either way but if you seen the rematch it proves even more who won the first fight cuz in the second he just gave up he knew he couldn't beat Floyd
