As a parent this hit so hard. I also cried multiple times. I’m bringing my kid to see it this coming weekend and I know I’m going to cry again watching it with him.
The movie that’s making grown men cry… I cried, my 13 and 9yr old boys cried, the theatre cried. Just the goddamn artwork made me cry (Ros the robot sprinting through the field with the leaking fluids and the tree stump for a foot, arms out for the young goose to take flight amongst the geese in flight - WOW).
As a fan of animation and even Dreamworks this film is FLIPING fantastic I saw it yesterday it’s so heartfelt And it so wired Cuase we had two great robot movies this month This and TF one
I never thought I would be tearing up for animated movie in the cinema. What a touching movie that pulls all the heart strings. I cried at the part where the robot saw the goose left for migration. And I love the part where the robot take out her power source from chest, so she could put the goose inside and save it from the fall.
As a parent, I've never had my experience summarised so well as (paraphrased) "my body is broken and I had to rewrite all my programming, this task is impossible to complete" but also like Ros you keep pulling energy and solutions seemingly out of nowhere, it's all worth it to see your child succeed. All the mums and dads were crying around me in the cinema.
(Little bit of spoilers) Oh my gosh, the log-leg scene. Bro, I was actually tearing up so bad because she was literally limping until that point. Also, I envisioned her as a person the whole time and honestly thought of her losing her foot and getting a prosthetic, which is SUCH a sacrifice. And that was such a big act of kindness for the beaver
There were several emotional moments in this film. But what made me really feel it was at the end when Brightbill rests his body on Roz's neck as he did when he was a baby. And tells her he loves her.
It was amazing, the experience was able to draw out so many emotions in such a natural way! Also a really good look in the plot of “I should fit into my world, but how can I be part of yours instead?”
Ngl, I went into this film thinking it was gonna be mid. But I should have had faith in the guy who brought us Lilo and Stitch, HTTYD and The Croods. This film was goddamn fantastic, I am utterly shocked at how good it was, one of the best animated films I have seen. I am personally gonna vote for it as the best animated film this year. I loved it, first time I almost cried because of a film!😭❤️🔥💯
I watched it today, ooof I hadn't reacted like that to a movie in a very long time. And it's great to see you back, John! Now I'm a little more down that I missed Fantastic Fest. It would have been great to say a quick hello!
This isn't just a mother son story this is a survival story. When you look at how Roz first appears in the movie she's trying to survive getting washed away by the gigantic waves. When she finds Brightbill's egg his parents and siblings didn't make it, but he did. Roz feeds and learns from Fink. When Brightbill was given leadership of the flock Long neck sacrificed himself. When the storm hit Roz and Fink made sure to save most of the animals. Even if not all were saved. Even with the backgrounds it's clear human kind has suffered some sort of apocalypse so the survivors were protecting their food supply. Protecting from what? Animals that invade and eat their crops. Survival the main cause that brought all these characters together.
I hadn’t cried in almost 20 years before watching this movie. I had tears trickling down my cheeks multiple times throughout. It’s beautiful. An absolute visual, audible and conceptual masterpiece. The best movie I’ve seen in a hot minute. Absolutely stunning.
I had no special expectation from this animation, but it was spectacular and definitely more emotionally rich than I anticipated. It was beautiful. Ngl, I teared up twice or three times throughout the film. The only other time I remember getting emotional watching an animation film was Wall*E. This is one of those movies that you need to buy blu-ray and watch with your kids.
I agree about the jumpy and rapid editing that could make you miss something important if you blinked. For me, I didn't catch on to how Roz lost her foot and the fact that her factory birthplace was on the same planet until a point later than what the director had probably intended. It is still a great movie and I will see it for a second time in the theatres, something I rarely do.
Within the first 5 minutes it clicked with me, oh this is Iron Giant landing in the wild oppose to a small town😂 Just as great and a perfect double feature
I think it showed that no human just like the robot is programmed to be a parent but then they constantly have to rewrite their programming to help the child
I just watched it today and I really think it's one of the best movies I've ever seen. It's a delightfully beautiful achievement for cinematic and visual art
I'm a 30 years old grown man, and i cried twice while watching this. Embarrassed but worth it. 😅 I love everything from the beginning until the end of this movie
I will say I read the book and the climax is on par with the books in that the collector robots come for Roz and she and the animals fight back. The weird squid bad guy bot is new though
Another one to check out is Transformers One. Probably not as emotional as The Wild Robot, at least not in the same way. Doesn't have Iron Giant vibes. But it's also a really solid movie, with more depth than the trailers suggest.
Just watched the movie yesterday and can’t stop thinking about it and came to RUclips to check out some scenes again and I landed here. It was a beautiful movie though❤
I cant wait to see this in october! Speaking of robots have you seen the new transformers animated movie yet? Its currently out in cinemas and it is highly praised at the moment! Super recommend it and would love to know what you think!
So far, my favourite "robot movie" is certainly WALL-E. But I am still in a (positive) shock by The Wild Robot after having watched it yesterday, Can't say enough about this film...
You better hope you don’t have roudy distract able kids in the theater. Unfortunately I couldn’t get emotionally invested because there was a family with littles that would walk about the theater and try to have conversations with the other viewers. Also lots of chair moving
Bro it made me cry cuz it's just life but it's just sad you know you raise someone for like probably 7 or 10 years and then they just suddenly disappear or move out it's just so sad and they never came back they did come back but it's still sad bro it made me cry so much I couldn't even stop and that's why I love the wild robot it was rated at 8.5 star and then I decided to go on it then it was so much fun watching it it was like emotional and comedy at the same time and the best part is you've never seen a kid cry I'm literally 12 years old and I cry of movies I just wish my friends could understand English so they can watch this with me and they would know how sad this is😢😢😢
Enjoy the new review! Let me know your favorite robot movie in the comments below. Hasta la vista, baby!
If you liked this, you should definitely check out puss in boots 2. Lots of adult innuendos and darker than expected.
Films: Terminator 1&2
Shows: Vivy: Fluorite eye's song & 86
I've always thought the Robocop vs Terminator comic series by Frank Miller would make an incredible movie.
@@mvs5248 agreed
Iron Giant.
I cried at several points in this movie…this movie emotionally fucked me up. 😭
As a parent this hit so hard. I also cried multiple times. I’m bringing my kid to see it this coming weekend and I know I’m going to cry again watching it with him.
The movie was freaking fantastic!
The fox was hilarious
FR!
This was an actual masterpiece. Top 5 best animated film I've ever seen
I agree, It's a 10/10 for me.
Same almost willing to say top 3 😅
Definitely top 5 for me either, maybe even top 3!
Screw that, im saying it
BEST animated movie ever made. I dont even care

that migration scene and then the music kicks in 😭
My kids read the books and begged me to take them and it was a perfect time with the kids and amazing movie
Wait... There are books? Like... Multiple parts of this world?
@@geraldwhite2676 apparently that's what my kids say at least three of them
@@geraldwhite2676This movie is just about the first book.

Love seeing movies reveiws from big John, like the good old days, stuckmann, jahns and flick pick
Stuckmann sucks
@@TheKrazyKajeevieShow each to their own, i enjoy the trifecta

So kind
It impressed me how it is written with a little but of dark humor and that they touch base in some subjects that normally are not shown on kids movies
Love to see you posting videos regularly again.
Too bad Video Stores don’t exist anymore.

Big Hero 6 gives me the feels
It was amazing, the experience was able to draw out so many emotions in such a natural way! Also a really good look in the plot of “I should fit into my world, but how can I be part of yours instead?”

Did you see Transformers One. John you have to check it out, it was underrated and was a Blast!
Virtually stunning, emotionally powerful, beautiful songs, The Wild Robot is everything.
Well, for feels, it's The Iron Giant! Favorite movie starring robots it's T2 for sure!
Great review man , love the enthusiasm you’re bringing now feels like the old days
This movie was AMAZING. I didn’t expect to get so emotional. One of the best films from DreamWorks.
Loving the content lately John! Keep it up
One of the deepest movie I have seen in years. Almost lost it a few times and had a great convo with the kids after
Johnny boy starting to look like his early lizard days back in 2010
I got a Wild Robot popcorn bucket
I watched it today, ooof I hadn't reacted like that to a movie in a very long time. And it's great to see you back, John! Now I'm a little more down that I missed Fantastic Fest. It would have been great to say a quick hello!
I watched today and I loved it. I went on my own because i loved the animation, the composition and the story ❤. I'm 29 but I love animated movies.
There is no need to state your age. Animation movies can be brilliant and even art, like all Ghibli movies.

I’m not into that many animated movies but this one got my eye. Glad it’s good. It kinda reminds me of The Iron Giant.

this could definetly get a second and third movie i mean there is the books to adapt it would make fantastic franchise like toystory

I saw a public preview screening early this year, and the possum scene was my fave 😆
Movies At The Bar (good new channel) nailed his review on this film.
Glad you liked it John.
I went to see it last night and I didn't think i was going to be so emotional about a robot
Wasn’t really on my radar, but now I need to see this asap! Monday or Tuesday probably
Within the first 5 minutes it clicked with me, oh this is Iron Giant landing in the wild oppose to a small town😂 Just as great and a perfect double feature
Thanks for the recommendation, John…having your reviews on regular feels like the world pre 2020. Gonna take kids to see this one!
Did you hear about the rumours of the strange DCU Bane & Deathstroke movie in the works John?
If it's true I hope Dave Bautista gets to play Bane.

I love everything from the beginning until the end of this movie
I just got out of this with my nieces, the older one is reading the book in school. It was fantastic ^__^
The Fall 2006 had a re release in 4k today, it would be great to get your review
There were a lot of sniffles around the theatre and I am sure they were mostly from adults/parents
Glad ur back making vids John

I read the book and it's one of my favotires. I knew I was goiung to love it and the movie just gave the book the emotion and love it deserves.
U make the best reviews bro
I'm warming back up, bare with me!
Fav robot movies are Terminator 1 and more recently Ex Machina. Love classics like T2 as well of course.

Working up the energy to see it… maybe soon.

Man, i can't wait to watch this film.
Love the T-shirt!
I'm looking forward to seeing this one great review like always.
When was this marketed towards children alone? Stop placing animation as something only kid-centered

Thanks for the review my man 💪
Guys I just finished watching this movie right now and ran here. It was awesome! I'm ranking it second to Wall-E on my list!
This movie deserves a Oscar and the book series needs best seller
I could not stop crying I mean I was ballling 😭
Oh wow, I might go see this now.
Omg , I have a large screen projector and I watched it then watched it again. Please do not watch this on a tiny screen its5a big screen experience.

And not deep thoughts by john handy " my mom was not a robot that operated on batteries "
