I was 12 when this took place. Too young to go but I sure wished I was older at the time! But for me, watching this footage is so cool because it is the way people looked, the way cars looked and still did for most of my teenage years and it just brings me back. Even the graininess of the film makes it feel like going back in time to my youth.
I'm from south Africa, cherish the art, music and the culture this only comes once in a lifetime.there is only one Woodstock and the music that came with it. Thank you for the music.
I was born in the fall of 1969 so was not there. In my teen years I went to many Woodstock reunion parties. Was always crazy but fun, all good people. From bikers to you name it all people that loved music and had fun. Some amazing memories from those times in the 1980s. Wish I could have been there in 1969.
Didn't go to Woodstock (in college on the west coast at the time), but we did own a late-sixties VW "Captain America" microbus we painted red, white and blue with curtains made to match, LOL. Those were some times... The music is haunting. Thanks for sharing.
Wow, this is unlike any other Woodstock footage I've seen, or maybe it's just the choice of music that makes it seem so poignant. Joni's Woodstock without the vocals, beautiful and yet somehow sad. All those beautiful young people now old, if they're still around.
A year later I saw pictures of this concert in the cinema behind the glass in the Netherlands. I was surprised. Later I also became a hippie, was high for a long time and again later I converted.
Cool video. When I went into the military in 1977 my sister had a yard sale and sold all my stuff including my 8 track box set of Woodstock Live. I’m still pissed.
What an event this was and I was nine years old at the time. I remember a little about it. My mom was reading about it from the Montreal Gazette to our dad in the car on our way to Long Sue Beach Cornwall on the Saturday. She said "my God, it says here one girl was dancing in the nude for hours!
is this Joni's instrumental of "woodstock"....so glad I intuitively feel the magic in this song and everything special about this epic incredible gathering in a feild in Bethel..NY....August 15th - 18th 1969
I was 12 years old, lived in Northern NJ during the weekend of Woodstock and to this day I remember all of the rain that came down that weekend. We were unaware that the event took place until the following Monday when it was on the news.
I am sure I was born in the 60s, I feel like I have been there lol I love these tunes from these times and the doors, but I wasn't born too 1980. I get goose bumps. Probably just heard them from my dad x Quality
When I was lil tyke, and didn't know much better, I thought the 50s and 60s were pretty much the same - innocence, well dressed folks, straight laced and cars with fins. I was astounded to learn from Woodstock footage that people then look and act like modern folks now - casual, happy go lucky, free-spirited, longer hair, but still with much cooler cars being driven than today's SUVs and trucks 😁
I wonder if any of this people knew they where making history That one day people would be looking up all this Beautiful time in life I know for a fact in my pass life I was a hippie love the whole style
I was ducking & dodging bullets, hand grenades & mortar rounds in Vietnam while Woodstock was going on. But I did get to see the movie when I got home; so it was like I was kinda there. 🎵🎶🎸☮️
Best acts ever..I can’t say I’m impressed with many of the Glastonbury bands..but I’m just a biased old man!! Give me the Doors,Hendrix, the Who, Grateful Dead anyday
Woodstock ushered in the age of massive attendence at a musical venue that was geared more for profit than the experince of enjoying artistic performance. After Woodstock we had large stadiums and other massive attendence festivals geared toward profit and not the artistic experince. Even concerts in arena's of 15,000 people is a sham for the musical experience.
Simply epic ! The original film adds more life to the realism and times. A time-machine. Where is everyone now ( those that are still with us ) ?

At the time Woodstock was on can you remember everyone talking about it at school and stuff ? Or was it only as time went on it gathered fame

This is such a poignant piece. No words necessary. A snapshot in time for sure.

Yes!!! We still be kicking. Well some of us are. Just to have an old barn full of those cars. My 1st pickup, 1959 chevy, $25.
Always liked her version better.
I was 15. Would love to go back to that time and stay there. I miss being young.
Metoooooo
Did you go Woodstock ?
I miss being young too
Wasn't born until 1970! Would've loved to experienced this! Wow!🌼🌼🌼🌼
But you got to grow up in the spin-off 70's honey.

I was 7 and we had a Festivall in Heidelberg 1970. I was there.

Exciting images of a past time
Man those classic cars make this great.
We went with 2 cars. A 1966 Oldsmobile 442 convertible and my 1966 Pontiac GTO. They are now classic muscle cars of the 60's.

I've never seen this before. Amazing.
Wow that's a great video thanks
I wonder if any of this people knew they where making history

Beautiful time in life
I know for a fact in my pass life I was a hippie love the whole style
After hearing that the New York Thruway was closed and seeing all the performers getting to the concert in Army helicopters you knew this was EPIC!
What a coincidence. I have my Woodstock CDs in my player right now. It'll be coming on in a few minutes.
Thanks for sharing this!
Inesquecível, até hoje me impressiona. Milton do Recife
Looks like a good time!

The piano music is familiar to bad company's song bad company
Excellent
Was 15, I have come back to the garden

Bei tempi !
This is great. Thank you. Who's playing the piano soundtrack?
Joni Mitchell
Vincent Lussier Was it a bonus track on a Ladies of the Canyon reissue, or what? I can’t find release info for an instrumental version
@@WicksThings Joni was scheduled to be there but she didn’t show instead she made this song after the fact stardust...
Yeah she made it with her hands and her mouth. Her mouth is missing here. I'm trying to figure out where this version is from.@@artisanbrickstone6243
Now I know where bad company got inspiration for their song
Los poderosos no entendieron que la Humanidad solo queria Paz....Amor.....y Musica!!
There was once a brief idyll on earth
Was that a Marlboro or an Old Gold?
Great this footage but still less colorful than you would expect.
1969 was a lifetime ago 😟
So much has changed in this world, sadly not for the better.
Never seen this footage before no telling what we have not seen that people made on private 8mm reels that's collecting in attics
I was living in NYC and turned down invitations to go. Now I’m sorry and I thought I’d be
That is a sad story :( But it must have been god´s will. Otherwise it would not have happened.

devi...haver estado..ahi..
Cant understand why people would leave the comfort of their home to go where there is no bathroom.
The Who!
It´s called "leaving the comfort zone" to experience something extraordinary ;_)
Yyyyuuu la vida sigue by gusto en lo que me aburre sistema bonita nativia para él comentario y Zacatecas te saluda
La nazione di Woodstock è senza tempo e per confini (attraversabili senza passaporto) l'atmosfera terrestre.
Far Out
Yes please let's get back to being HUMAN.
suntan gergely
That is some of the most uninteresting footage of Woodstock I've ever seen! So weird.
No
Its calm & beautiful 🌸
The music with the video didn't do that time justice . It was a far out time and it deserves far out music.....
