Corgan's best album to me will always be Adore. He wrote it after his mom died and it helped me when both of my parents died. I also have to say Machina I and II has always been my second favorite for the shoegazey and beautiful sounds with Jimmy back in the band.
I'm so happy for Billy that he's finding newer and deeper levels of creative territory and expressing from that vantage wonderfully. All the Atum songs have so much to parse, making relistens very rewarding. It reminds me of the Prince album Lovesexy, or Bob Pollard's first solo album "Not in My Airforce", in that it's such a departure from what was, and the freedom afforded by this earned evolution yields an ornate tapestry of a wonderland that one can explore for many fulfilling hours.
@@arcadianempire Conan is a total pro. He's done thousands of interviews with every kind of person imaginable, and he also just seems like a really humble and empathetic person. He knows how to talk to people in a way that keeps things comfortable.
That is such a crazy story, I can't believe his uncle literally called the network head about how Conan should be a lawyer instead of the host of Late Night. xD
If anything explains Conan, it's that a close member of his family called up the head of a network to try to un-hire Conan for this dream job... FOR HIS *OWN* GOOD!
I used to work at a small record label in Belgium; when things weren't financially going well, the best thing to do, apparently, was to physically destroy all of our unsold vinyl albums at a waste disposal plant, while observed by a notary. We're talking about thousands of records being run over by a bulldozer. As a young guy, new to the music industry, it was heartbreaking to watch. I wish I could've at least taken a picture of this tremendously bizarre event, to give it a place later on in my life - but I wasn't allowed to. This conversation really reminded me of that moment, now eighteen years ago. Capitalism is weird.
My first instrument i paid for was a beginners sax. I kept it the longest. Sold it cheaply but it still looked amazing. Not many people play it but use to love kenny g with the big sax now he does a flute. Simpsons starts every show with a sax. And Saturday night live legendary sound is with a sax.
He's a strange character. He is capable of being extremely humble, but also extremely narcissistic. As a guitar player and arranger, he really is gifted. Some of the most fantastic solos I've ever heard. I rank him up there with Michael Bloomfield, Jeff Beck, and Peter Green. With that being said, I do consider him to be a savant guitarist. He is wholly original, and I can always tell when it's Billy on guitar. That's a rare thing to accomplish.
I've only in the last few years, come to realize, just how much the world is all about money and power by the various corporations and individuals that have huge influence over it, in regards to the comment about the Q&A regarding making a larger musical project at 3:58. It is the primary factor in almost every major decision and what guides any large business. There is no triple bottom line with these companies, regardless of whatever BS they want to put out there on their P.R. fluff channels on Twitter or the like. Not that I realize the full extent of what goes on in corporate boardrooms and with politicians but I've come to realize this and it only reinforces it, when I pay attention to events of the world.
However, this guy ain't that bright. He almost makes me feel smart. He's claiming he's a libertarian free-market capitalist in one publication but then seems genuinely puzzled by the corporate boardroom decisions that based on this interview and my deductions, want a smaller music project (or to not do it). Kind of funny and honestly a bit of a turn off.
Joel Plaskett also has an album with 33 songs called Three. AMAZING ALBUM!!. He just released an album called 44 and you guessed it it has 44 songs. Check him out please.
I want my favorite artists to be able to make whatever kind of art they want to make - whether using a minimalistic approach, a complex one, or a bit of both. No artist owes anyone masterpiece after masterpiece, which is subjective anyway.
I'm a Pumpkins obsessive. Absolute super fan. I couldn't make it ten minutes through the full interview. Corgan's delusions of grandeur I can forgive - he's a genius. But the self-pity, the resentment, the pettiness...my god, the man is insufferable.
Oh, the Alex Jones guy ! Now i remember him. I hope he spoke about how the Sandy Hook parents are wrong about his dear friend Alex and how taxes for the rich are too high. A great mind for sure.

Today it's like shooting ducks in a barrel. Were we always this dumb or is it the new landscape?

I hate to be like "boomers" and generational things, but where the f*ck does the previous generation get off on trying to control other people's lives?? Calling the CEO of NBC? Telling you that you can't play the guitar, etc. Unreal.

Billy Corgan is crazy talented and influential. Just ask him, he’ll tell you.
Well, he is a musical prodigy, someone told him that when he was 7.

lol I thought I was the only one who noticed
Ha!! He didn't let anyone do studio work on Siamese Dream. It's all him....he loves Billy

Did he test as very artistic? Or autistic? 😂

Confidence is important in any creative field. If you don't believe in your work, no one else is.
People say the same about Paul McCartney, but it’s hard not to seem arrogant when you gain popularity in the music industry at a young age

Please have Eddie Izzard on the show!!
Homer Simpson, Smilling politely.
