- This is not your typical CrossFit Documentary, this is “The Heart of Mayhem II”. We are all inspired by watching our favorite elite athletes show off their super-human capabilities, however, we wanted to showcase a different kind of super human. One of CrossFit Mayhem members, a mom and wife, who knew she needed to make a change, and though Mayhem was in her “backyard” stepping foot in the gym was Goliath sized hurdle she was not ready for. Her courage to challenge her fear and change her life can speak to all of us as we each work on overcoming the Goliath's in our own lives. We hope you enjoy Summer's story as much as we enjoy the joy she gives to us in Cookeville, Tennessee.

Once again Mayhem continues to deliver good stuff! Thank you Summer for being so transparent so others may be touched by your story. Talk about giving God all the glory. Summer and Mayhem did this well. I have already shared this with many that are in my circle. For both reasons. Fitness and most of all Faith! Way to represent Jesus!
What a wonderful testimony! I can relate to Summer on so many levels just in a different way. I was always active growing up and even into my 20s-early 40s. I was really active & fit back in 2015/16; probably peak fitness in my early 40s. I could throw a 50lb bag of birdseed over my shoulder without even thinking about it. On any given day I'd go walk 5 miles in my neighborhood, come home and rake leaves to burn for a few hours, then go to my local gym to do a 2 hour workout. Then I had 2 surgeries in 2 years. I came back from them both pretty well but something was brewing that was going to shut me down for awhile. A major surgery (and its long term effects) in 2018 that I have yet to fully come back from.
Long story short, I need to get out of the funk I've been in for several years now and do the hard things or I will be like many in my parents' generation who never thought about fitness and now have legit functional movement issues. My greatest fear is not being able to do the basics when I'm their age.
Thank you, Mayhem and Summer, for sharing this story. I love the idea of CF overall and I have my favorite athletes to watch at the Rogue Invitational and other events, but I can't relate to them. I can relate to Summer and the struggles she's faced so THANK YOU for this motivation. This is what CF means to me. 🙏🏻♥️💪🏻
