    I’ve had a decked drawer system in my 2015 f150 since buying it new , I’ve placed a Highway Products gull wing tool box behind the rear glass and built a bed rail the same height as the tool box , this gave me back the depth I lost installing the decked drawer system . I added a gate above the tailgate , this allows me to carry lumber the full length of the bed by laying it on top of the toolbox and supporting it on the bed rail gate . My dog has a safe place to stand and the rails allow me ample places to secure a load

    Have had this system on my 2012 Tundra for a couple years now. We keep our camping gear in it. It’s nice for what we use it for. I do agree, a single side system would be nice to have a deep section for a slide out refrigerator.

    I looked into this awhile ago but the storage is limited and I even thought about the shell too. I didn't want to turn my truck into a van so I ended up with a water proof hard cover and it works great. I can keep cardboard boxes and they stay dry. Perfect storage!

    I like the The System I have one in my Tacoma. Things I wish were different on it. I wish the drawers were easier to take in and out without you having to disassemble it. Which they made a rubber mat for the Tacoma one. Always have to tie stuff down. Otherwise it slides all over the place. And to be honest I think the bottle opener is a waste of time. It’s location is badly situated if you’re drinking from regular longneck bottles, due to the length of it every time you pop the cap you’re always spilling your drink. Unless of course it is the little short stubby bottles works OK on them.

  • @paulf9653
    @paulf9653 Год назад +4

    It's a really cool system. I want to like it so bad but all I see is the huge wasted space everywhere. I'm always throwing in gas jugs or propane tanks in the back and that use would be gone. I'd like to see a shortened version that left 12-18 inches in the rear. Again don't know if I'd like that either. So far I'm happy with me BakFlip MX4 folding cover and Toyota bed extender. Makes a nice little cargo space by flipping up one panel. I have a weather proof bin that I keep emergency and recovery stuff in back there as well.

    That's a cool thing but I have a question: what's happening if you're in a slope uphill or downhill and you need to open the drawers? Is there a locking mechanism to prevent the whole thing coming down at you or forcing yourself to hold all the weight while someone else is getting the "box" out?
    Thanks in advance Matt for your reply

      The handles lock the drawers in place and there are stops to keep them from falling out once opened.

    If you let a deer get in it and he spills red koolaid on it do you think it has places for the koolaid to leak down in? Not even necessarily inside the boxes but down the sides where you really can’t wash it out?

      If the koolaid loving deer is to the back of the can I don’t see it being an issue. Koolaid may fall into the ammo can portion on 4 corners but there should be very little that makes it into the drawers.

    • @saragnac
      @saragnac Год назад +2

      I've had this system in my F150 for two years now and I've hauled everything you just mentioned many times. In a full size truck you don't really lose that much space. Both of my drawers are full of my tools that are so well organized and DRY. The advantage of keeping the tools dry and secure out weighs the loss of bed depth. Since the top of this system is completely flat, sliding that couch onto it is probably easier than dealing with the wheel wells.

      I disagree. If you have a consistent amount of things that you want to keep in your truck on a permanent basis, this makes sense. Just having a big old bed open Does that mean it's more organized.
      This defeats the purpose for YOU.
