Fair play, David, well done for tackling jobs that many of us would be too faint hearted to tackle. I've watched CRV's videos and he is an absolute magician!

Fantastic video showing how it can be done at home. I’d be so scared to tackle it but would love a go on some scrap wheels to see what could be done

That’s essentially what these are mate, they did turn out really nice tho so I would give it a bash again in the future. Its just an option that can save people a fortune when it comes time to had back a car if the dreaded corrosion has set in

This was proper interesting, David, a great bit of content. My diamonds are a mess and need a refurb, unfortunately there are some pretty deep sratches, so I'm not sure i could do this, not wothoit some kind of filler. The cost of doing a diamond cut wheel down here isnt far short of new wheel money, that could also be an option.... when I'm rich 😅😂

Thanks Lee, you would be surprised at what you can sand out of alloys mate, these were a disaster and turned out amazing. It’s the same up here, your north of £200 a wheel in some places which I just couldn’t justify paying on car that only cost that much lol

Great video, a question if I may, did putting the clear coat on change the colour of the polished face? Only reason I ask is I've got wheels thar normally are machine cut and cleared but I cant see any tooling marks and looks more like light silver than say polished or machined finish.

Thank you, I think it more depends on the level of sanding that you want to goto. I wanted that more refined look but I think if I had stopped at 500 grit, the machined look would have been more obvious. I wouldn’t say the clear made any difference to the finish tho.

Not for me mate way above my pay scale and if it is like machine polishing you can ask Michael how long I stuck out trying to master that skill even though I really wanted to learn. I would just pay a guy I'm afraid. The wheels came up really good I am a fan of silver alloys from a guy that has Diamond cut on both cars and yes after selling my Mini to finance the i-Pace I relented and bought another car which has since been replaced after a year of ownership as I needed well wanted a tow bar for my tow bar mounted bike carrier to transport my electric bike to allow me to venture further than round about here.

You go through more cars than a dealership John 🤣🤣. I do like diamond cut wheels, they can just start to corrode so easily if they aren’t taken care of

Could I apply aircraft remover to make the clear coat come off easier before sanding?

I’ve never used a product like that so really have no idea how it works
