  • This video demonstrates how to repair error code 9D12 "SINE: Internal Battery". The batteries required are (2) CR123A.
    E60 alarm sirens from 9/2006 production and later cannot be serviced in this manor. They are glued together instead of screwed together, and would need to be cut open to replace the batteries.

      Can you retrofit an earlier one to the 2006+ ones? Is connection the same

    • @E39Source
      @E39Source  2 года назад +1

      @@JINSTASUTUBE I'm about 95% sure that the connector did NOT change, so you likely could install an older siren module.

    Perfect timing on this video for me. I have M5 E60 03/2005 production that just got this error code (9D12). Thanks for the video! I will tackle this problem tomorrow.

    Wow, the e60 tilt sensor siren box comes apart with four screws and has a rubber seal! The e65/6/7/8 version is a sealed unit. Well 18 months ago a master tech suggested mine was faulty - the batteries (CR123) go he said. Well I dug into the car and extracted it. I cut it open and found the batteries we good but not 100% even though the car was 15 yo. I replaced the two batteries with new Panasonics and glued it back together with two-pack PU.

      It's not the series that matter but the year. Early E65s had the same serviceable module

    Is it the same in the E63 6 Series?

    Nice video!! Where is the siren on BMW X1 E84 X1 18i, is the same process?

    • @E39Source
      @E39Source  2 года назад +1

      I have not serviced a E84 X1 before, so I am not sure where it is located. I would imagine it's in a very similar spot. I have recently learned that, at least on the E60 5-series, only the alarm sirens produced before 9/2006 have replaceable batteries. The later sirens are glued together, and cannot easily be opened to access the batteries.

    Hey Ryan, I had a look at the blue bus site and saw that because of delays there are no units to be sold. Any chance you may have one spare lying around?

      Unfortunately no, I can't keep these in stock either. I assure you they're worth the wait though!

      I've never tried anything like that, but the connectors look the same. It may be plug and play, or may not work at all.

    Hi! Our M5 alarm just goes off randomly. Can you make a video on how to disable it?

    • @E39Source
      @E39Source  Год назад

      Disabling of the alarm would require fairly advanced programming/coding tools. Do you have access to NCS Expert?

    • @E39Source
      @E39Source  2 года назад

      If it's dead while plugged in to the car, you probably have a bad siren. I have a few working ones left over! Please email me at ryan@e39source.com if you're interested in buying.

    My E39 535i -00 M-sport makes a loud beep from a speaker when i shift into reverse, it has the sensors in the back bumper but they don't work if you drive backwards towards an object.

    • @E39Source
      @E39Source  2 года назад +1

      This loud beep is the system telling you there is an error and it has shut down. You probably have a bad sensor. Put it in reverse with they in position 2 (engine OFF) and go back and listen carefully at each sensor. A working sensor should make a clicking sound. A dead one will be silent. Replace the dead sensor(s) and it will work again without the error beep!
