When you draw the registration lines what’s the line to the left ? Is it for left side chest logos ? What’s the measurement on that line ? Thank you 🙏🏾

I use a slab of glass that is 1/16th thick and I lay it on the platen and lay the screen down on top and tighten the off contact and tilt. It seems like it’s always still off, especially the tilt. Should I just do it like this with the cards in all 4 corners?

Your way of doing it sounds great! You can certainly try the cards to see if you like that better but feel free to reach out by giving our tech line a call if you need some help!

Can I get your insight? I’m starting a clothing brand and I’m getting 30 blank Bella Canvas hoodies printed which I bought for $27 each and am suppling to the print company. I’m getting the whole design in screen puff print on the front (10 inches), back (10 inches), and sleeves (3.5 inches). Two colors total. One specially ordered color. Their charge is $120 for puff print additives, $120 for ink color, $112 for screen fees, and $22 per hoodie. So that’s $1,012 + the $810 I already spent on the hoodies. Essentially making each hoodie cost $60 just to be ready for sale. Seems like way too much especially since I’m supplying the garments. Does this seem right/normal to you? Do you have any advice on how I can lower this cost? I don’t want to have to sell my clothes for $120+

Hi! Lets see if I can help clear some things up. I want to state before hand, that there will be some assumptions made for why the printer is charging what you wrote. Also, your print request is definitely more complex than most.
Screen fees are all about prepping and setting up the screens for the job. Puff screens will take more attention and care, so a higher price is understandable.
The fees for puff additives etc could be inflated, but we dont know exactly how much ink is being used etc. You state one color is custom which will increase print costs as the printer may never use that ink again. The garment also needs 3 print placements with an ink that is VERY temperature sensitive. If a previous puff print gets hot again, it can collapse the print, making the garment a waste. So the printer is going to need to take extra time and care with your garments.
Then the next part is - from a screen printers perspective: you are doing a low volume run, 30 pieces. So your print charges will be higher in comparison to someone who is getting 72 pieces per print run. Add on 3 locations and you can see how charges can quickly compound to make a garment cost go up.
Hopefully this gave you a little clarity into why a printer may charge these prices based on the complexity of your print request. Are these charges fair? That is not for me to decide as there are many factors that go into why fees and charges are what they are.
