THIS WAS A FIRE EPISODE (pun most definitely intended) 10/10. You got some great character development in Spanner who honestly imo has one of the best rider debuts in history and ngl the suit is REALLY good imo (Also I like how you call the hydra heads in his shovel form worms lmao) but I could ramble about it on and on about how much I like this episode and I think a large amount of the toku community loves this episode too with the amount of edits I’ve seen of this debut on Tokutok lol😭💀also I feel a bit called out with the Valvafraud thing but aye in my defense I say it as a joke I swear I understand the characters depth and how all his losses make this win just all the more powerful.
And to the other half of this episode Minato, I wanna know more about this man Kyoka says he’s frighteningly straightforward but still painfully awkward which was so cute. And now that Minato and Lachesis have teamed up I think I’ll love it because I love when two minor villains team up together and make a top tier duo I.E. like Beroba & Kekkera. Also at this point I think Spanner knows about Minato’s secret as in him being a double agent. Spanner says “I almost fell for his blasphemous trick.” Or something along those lines. And yeah I know what you mean by theory fanfic lmao😭💀.
(Also have we all just collectively forgotten Legend is apparently coming into the show lol?)
spanners KR valvarad debut also makes it so clear why he was failing before hand. he works best when he is a well maintained machine. and the trauma he had was starting to run the machine ragged, so that needed to be fixed. it also just looked real dope.
Minato is starting to feel like, especially with the bigger hints that this is undercover work, that he is willing to sacrifice himself so long as good will come of it. and people who know him are going oh no about it.
You're right about Spanner beginning to heal. Minato even said at the end that the nightmare isn't over.
that’s a thing I think the show is trying hard to show, that empathy can help solve problems, but it’ll still take effort
KR Valvarad's debut was pretty good and he even showed off a sub-form.
The engine start-up sounds leading to the henshin was cool.
Also Minato may actually be playing along to discover Greyon's plans.
Next time; vampire husbando and another Valvarad sub form.

That's my GOAT! As cold as he's been (especially last episode when he just watched without flinching much as Spanner pleaded for help), I'm glad we got confirmation (more or less) that he's got his own plans. Willing to put his own life at risk, very happy his efforts paid off when Spanner caught on and spared him. Very interested in the possibility of him and Lachesis forming a temporary alliance with each knowing the other's secret and not being on board with whatever evil animeman/geryon is plotting.
Always love whenever they get to use flaming weapon/props for the scenes, really makes it feel special imo.
Personal nitpick: I wish Spanner got a more unique driver or that they repainted the Gotchardriver and/or changed the main callout from "Gotchanko" to something like "Valvarad-oh". Or that the gear to make him a Kamen rider was an attachment for the Valvarusher or something like Saber riders' equipment that link up with the sword (maybe a scabbard/sheath or some kind of gauntlet).
That being said, while I personally prefer base Valvarad more design wise, Kamen Rider Valvarad is much cooler in action than I expected. It's awesome that the updated system instead of following the "levels must equal to ten" rule, uses levels of the same number together and comes up with very powerful combinations of it's own (Kamen Rider Valvarad being level 12 with Machwheel and Daiohni). That gear shifting power augmenting his fighting style amping up to kicking the Valvarusher right through the Angel Malgam (chef's kiss), a manuever Ace himself would be proud of I dare say.
Love this part from a translation someone on the kamen rider subreddit did regarding the producer blog summary for this episode:
"Unlike Houtarou who tries to understand the Chemies and approaches them on his own to bond with them, Spanner settled on a Spanner-like approach: "Only those who want to follow me can come with me". The Chemies who resonate with his charisma can't help but follow him and Spanner will not reject those who choose to follow him, gladly turning them into his strength."

A very fitting and great development for Spanner. While he's still not quite up to buddying up with the Kitchen Ichinose Alliance just yet and saying this is his fight alone, he's not really alone. He's got the support of Professor Kyoka, the inherited power and love from his parents and the Chemies who have chosen to follow him.
Minato definitely has a big brain plan. Is it a self sacrifice to take down Grayon or is it to just get information? that all depends.
I’m OK with spanner reusing toys . In one part, it makes a show easier to produce. in another way it does kind of show that he is growing. he’s letting the hopeful jingles from the belt let out and it’s not being replaced by edge boy stuff.
i’m starting to wonder if the cards for valvarad are going to be two cards that are the same amount to keep like a similar math idea and equivalent, you know.
and that way of becoming friends, with the chemmys totally fits the loaner archetype he’s been falling into . He’s not gonna force him to be friends or ask them to be friends, but if they want to come along, he’s happy to have them.
I can't wait to see more unfold regarding this plot point, it's been very interesting.
Fair points, I guess from a lore perspective to me it felt a bit odd that with how special the Gotchardriver was talked up during the first arc of the show as the key to open the door to darkness, something very special and important. We've gone from one Gotchardriver to three, feels a little weird immersion wise or makes the Gotchardriver feel less special but I'm nitpicking at this point.
I believe all his pairings should be of the same number, the Angelead and Gekiocopter are both level 4s and they're used in the form in the next episode preview for him.
I'm happy this is his answer to Professor Kyoka telling him to find a way that works for him, and continuing to operate as their own small team also helps preserve Minato's ruse as I think only he and Kyoka are the others who know on the protagonist's side of things.
16:52 this is just a fantastic bit of discussion which I am always all for it's overall causes a bunch of curious specialization for the show as for this week's episode it was just really good that's literally all I have to say about this episode

the few episode back is kinda hard to watch they keep mentioning the movie which most of us has no idea
it actually make me careless or ignore majades existence, her entrance to the show feels a bit low
but, that said spanners arc here is amazing and boy, they better make that skater boy and ballet girl a thing, i would eat up even the side shows they'll make
the progression is now FULL STEAM AHEAD (get it?) to me it feels like minato is just playing along from the start
im now strapped in and ready for the next episode
