I do reason it all out. And Vox provides enough evidence before it even dares to make a claim. The bottomline is, you won't get a media outlet which is as open as this is on everything. They're real people, and I feel like I personally know them. The fact I'm trying to establish is, amidst all of the paranoia about news outlets, I'd like to offer them my unconditional support. I have enough faith in them to know they won't make a claim without it being true.
I have the opposite view. The only way to keep new outlets like Vox unbiased is to be extremely critical of it. If everybody gave them the unconditional support like you did they will quickly regress into appealing to the emotions of audiences to get view instead of having well-reasoned videos. There's nothing wrong with supporting a media outlet, but giving "unconditional" support is one of the most dangerous things you can do.
Dude. Seriously. Read what I wrote. "And Vox provides enough evidence before it even dares to make a claim." When Vox starts making stuff up from thin air, I'll think about it, but it never did. What? Appealing to my emotions to get my view? I'm not opinionated. The collective audience over here has a million different views, how are you going to appease all of these views? It's easier to tell the truth, and that's exactly what they're doing, and will continue to do. So, it's out of question they'll turn rogue. I'm not deluded to think that Fox is the right source for my daily fix of news.
i don't get you people that have a problem with this video?? like if you say it's boring and no one cares, cool, nobody's forcing you to watch it. it can be interesting to other people! let people make the content they want to make. i'm always up for learning more about the world, and you should be too, i think
Voguein' is black tho. LBQT is too much of an umbrella term it's not ethnic or race specific. I mean this video basically gave all the credit to black people in Harlem.

I was wondering the same. Almost every vid with LGBT or Women on the title gets plagued by tons of dislikes. Seems to me the works of LGBT and feminists are far from done.
Thank you for correcting my image of the history of this type of dance! I didn't know any better, and I have a lot of friends in the LGBT+ community, so I want to learn about their history and help them feel safe and supported around me. (I might be some form of ace but right now I identify as either Questioning or straight.)
Voguing is so amazing and technical. I want to be part of it but my size has made me anxious about dancing again. I’ve done hip hop, tap, and jazz at an already high weight. I’ve gained more since then :( Hoping I can add vogue to the list in this lifetime.
we're talking about adults here. Obviously there is a right way and a wrong way to behave towards children. But that has no bearing on this conversation, because we weren't talking about children.
I wouldn't classify pedophilia as "love". Desire, perhaps. But more often it's born from a need to assert dominance on the part of a weak and sick person. Again however, that's not what the video was about: so Desmond wasn't talking about that either.
Sophie Jones exactly my point love is love is valid in this context for a community of beings who support each other and have a passion for VOUGEING. Mother Earth would've been such a better place if we all stood by each other and accepted the fact that it's fine to be different.
EvilTom, it's strange how you almost advocated for pedophilia in your second to last comment. Perhaps it may be from generalizing too much. I'm interested in what research you've done on the topics you've mentioned but I would rather you emailed me than continued in this section of the comments. Not that being less educated or exposed to something makes you less valid, but forming an educated point of reference can help to make real progress in a conversation as opposed to running in circles and making irrelevant comments, of which there are non here. I'm interested in understanding where you are coming from, in a non-personal sense. I suppose what I'm asking for is a definition of the term "Natural" and how it related to "Mother Nature". Which definitions do you abide by and should they be at all? I'm team Mother Nature Can Fight Me because she's literally a pain in my butt but I love her, nonetheless, and I love my friends. Does your definition include all things organic and that can be developed, or are you actively against that? Because sex changes aren't just a choice for people, in a similar way that sexuality isn't a choice. This discourse can also lead into questions surrounding identity, which is a fun but sometimes difficult place to traverse, even if one is prepared.
The podcast "Reply All" from Gimlet media did a great episode about the origins of the term "YAS," which began in these houses. The episode is #69 Disappeared and it starts around the 19:30 minute mark. It's interesting stuff. gimletmedia.com/episode/69-disappeared/
no. stop trying to make this a race issue, voguing is an important element from de WHOLE lgbt comunity EVEN THOUGH black and latin people that created it, and they were always credited by it.
Raphael, the title literally says "How the LGBT community creating vogueing". You still want to argue that they're being credited right now? literally no one said that vogueing wasn't important for the whole lgbt community, Ra Fie just wants black LGBT to be credited, so don't break your arms reaching for an argument lmao.
Even though I'm a month late to this video, I just wanted to ask why it's so important to specify that people of color in the lgbt community are the ones who started voguing. It's just sad that people want to divide us even further apart by adding race into this. White people do not say anything about other people "appropriating" things that white people started. "oh you use facebook, YOU'RE APPROPRIATING WHITE PEOPLE" I just find it ridiculous that as an already divided community, some people want to take it a step further and complain that white people are being added to something.
I'm impressed of how this became something cultural back in those years, I didn't know it even exists, until I watched Pose on Netflix. American culture it's really surprising.
What people need to know about Voguing is that it releases an aura of energy no one else can understand. Voguing is different for everyone in its uniqueness.
Jeffrey: And what is the precise nature of this nervous disorder?... Will: It's for people that wanna look cool but... Ain't really got no rythm! You should be pretty good at it!

Bots or just people who dislike VOX videos without even seeing what they even are first.
4chan neckbeards.
what are even SJWs? Right wingers just made that stuff up and have been crying about nothing else since then. Where are the real issues?!
They have to have something to complain about so they can counteract legitimate complaints
Or they just dislike how the dance looks..?
Vox, you have my unconditional support.
Ditto
So... you confess of not using your reasoning abilities?
"And Vox provides enough evidence before it even dares to make a claim."
When Vox starts making stuff up from thin air, I'll think about it, but it never did.
Atleast they're having fun, me on the other hand can't even dance :(
Yes you can! Everyone can dance!
you mean you can't dance well :) Some people have a talent for dancing well, that is true. Most of us take lessons.
i'm so excited about this
i don't get you people that have a problem with this video?? like if you say it's boring and no one cares, cool, nobody's forcing you to watch it. it can be interesting to other people! let people make the content they want to make. i'm always up for learning more about the world, and you should be too, i think
These comments should be level-headed
Kyle Richardson Level-headed and vogue are antonyms. Both sides are irrationally passionate about their side of the story and it'll always be that way
lol
why are people disliking this? there's nothing wrong w the video
Voguein' is black tho. LBQT is too much of an umbrella term it's not ethnic or race specific. I mean this video basically gave all the credit to black people in Harlem.
so you're saying straight blacks made it? LMAO what would Ninja think of this.... or all the kids that were thrown out of their houses and participated in ballrooms. They created this scene cause neither straights and neither racist whites wanted them.Vogue is not a black thing. Vogue is a black and latino lgbt thing
Vogueing is as black, but lgbtq+ black not straight cis black guys. So it's both, but never just one. (plus the latinx community, always preaching for my familhia)
Alice In Salt Land so you exclude the Latino lgbt people who created it until the end of your comment give them credit too
Latinos too. I'm starting to hate black people for not giving us credit. It's all about blacks. We also helped to invent hip hop.
If vogueing is black then flying in an airplane is white... oh wait that’s super racist
the comments are split between
"yaasssssssss"
"yesss! werk!"
"they should've credited poc"
"what is this & why are people doing it?"
" (this is where a comment in regards to "y'all uneducated. lemme explain; blahblahblahblah" ) "
Wait, is there gonna be a series of LGBT-related videos during the Pride Month? YES PLEASE SAY YES MAKE MORE OF THESE
Why?
luboisfat they're interesting and clearly upset a lot of bigots.
Moonman lol nobody is "whining" btw lgbt people want equal rights and not special treatment
eliivy no
NoFace that's sad
The black and latinx LGBT* community
If I said scientists got us to the moon, would you correct me and say "uhm, it was actually white scientists"?
blackfemme Exactly. Let's specify!
I was gonna say, and hardly the L or B
mlw2324 tons of B, like tons and Lesbians have been in it for decades. including transwomen who are lesbians.
Thank you 👏🏾
It was the black LGBTQ community ns.
Thank you !
Damn... this comments leave me so disappointed.
I like that philosophy, "let's stop the war, we should just throw a shade.". Imagine Donald Trump/Biden, Xi Jin Ping, Putin and Kim Jong Un Voguing in ballroom dance to solve their problems. What a beautiful world we live in.
as a swing dancer, I love this. This is the best thing since the invention of tap. All the other modern dances look thuggish next to this.
I wanna learn how to dance like that when I get older :D
Happy pride month, everyone!
ThePickyGamer 🏳️🌈🏳️🌈🏳️🌈
ThePickyGamer That's not gods way
Cole Current you're not your gods way I mean he's supposed to love everyone right?
I just wanted to say something nice... 😭
Charles Patsch exept gays
Whats with the all the dislikes?
khaled aleisa, don't distract him, he is busy being oppressed by white cis-gender christian males.
homophobics
Shady Tyrell u racist?
Amandh Rajan, do you care?
I was wondering the same. Almost every vid with LGBT or Women on the title gets plagued by tons of dislikes. Seems to me the works of LGBT and feminists are far from done.
Thank you for correcting my image of the history of this type of dance! I didn't know any better, and I have a lot of friends in the LGBT+ community, so I want to learn about their history and help them feel safe and supported around me. (I might be some form of ace but right now I identify as either Questioning or straight.)
You want to be special so bad 😂
How the BLACK LGBTQs invented vogue
I wish I could dance this well.
Bronx ...LGBT... Why is Vox afraid to give BLACK people credit for anything ?
Michael Jordan fr tho
Because black people literally weren't the only one's who made this lmao
It was black and Latino LGBTQ+ people who created this art. They clearly stated it in the video.
Latinos too. I'm starting to hate black people for not giving us credit. It's all about blacks. We also helped to invent hip hop.
Liberal bias Lol no seriously, you gotta stop, this is diving into the realm of hilarious. Pitbull isn't anyone's favorite rapper.
Voguing, in my simplest understanding, is about being as extra as you possibly can be. I love it hahaha!
This was beautifully done. thanks for the representation, Vox.
I always vogueing at my house when nobody's home or no one sees everyday even when I'm just going to bathroom LOL.
I really appreciated this. I think it's so important for these stories to be told. Madonna didn't invent voguing like people sometimes think she did.
more people think that mj invented moonwalking when he actually just stole it, but i've never seen y'all worrying about that
Voguing is so amazing and technical. I want to be part of it but my size has made me anxious about dancing again. I’ve done hip hop, tap, and jazz at an already high weight. I’ve gained more since then :( Hoping I can add vogue to the list in this lifetime.
I think the vocal performance of the narrator could be improved
Samuel Rai he's referring to how bored she sounds
omg please she sounds monotone as heck
@daily reminder i probably wouldn't work as a voice over narrator
Narrator's waaaaaaay to close to the mic. If you're gonna go all NPR then you have to lower your voice
love is love
Satisfied Pepe I'd be more inclined to say that conservatism is an indicator of a much larger one but i know that'd be too hard for you to hear :^(
we're talking about adults here.
It's interesting stuff.
gimletmedia.com/episode/69-disappeared/
thanks for reminding me where i heard this before. great episode and great podcast
"Are you challenging me to a walk-off? Boo-lander?"
"Oh yeah ...that's a walk off challenge my friend!"
whoever put that imovie corny music at the end of the video, they're going to prison
i'm so into voguing right now
that's the I came from lol
I tried voguing once and it destroyed my knees. You need a really good condition to vogue right.
Finally found out that this is called voguing dance after I saw those funny edits of people falling down
Shouldn't that title say 'black' LGBTQ+?
Ra Fie it should
no. stop trying to make this a race issue, voguing is an important element from de WHOLE lgbt comunity EVEN THOUGH black and latin people that created it, and they were always credited by it.
You're wrong but ok.
Ra Fie no.
Here bcuz of chungha’s new videos
my dance teacher does this style of dancing in our hiphop classes sometimes and its so funny lmao
mandy trbl it isn't meant to be funny
POSE brought me here
So it's like Jojo's Bizarre Adventure poses made into a dance? Genius.
Who came here after Stay Tonight by Chung Ha?😆😃😄
Likes to Dislikes ratio is too high here.
jojo's bizzare adventure
「MENACING」
I was summoned?
This is even better considering Dio is bisexual.
Yes
nobody:
me: "AY GUYS WATCH THIS"
*proceeds to flail around*
me: "SEE I CAN VOGUE TOO"
So another title would be "How the LGBT black and latino community created voguing."
I'm impressed of how this became something cultural back in those years, I didn't know it even exists, until I watched Pose on Netflix. American culture it's really surprising.
What people need to know about Voguing is that it releases an aura of energy no one else can understand. Voguing is different for everyone in its uniqueness.
TIL this is my dance style, I thought I was just freestyling this whole time
Chungha's Stay Tonight dance has voguing! ♡♡
I clicked this video so fast. I was like, they better talk about 'Paris is burning' lmao
"I'm sooo into Voguing right now..."
Jeffrey: And what is the precise nature of this nervous disorder?...
Will: It's for people that wanna look cool but... Ain't really got no rythm! You should be pretty good at it!
wanna see a great Vogue Choreography? I recommend SHINHWA - THIS LOVE. You're welcome!
I came here after Gfriend said Apple choreography was inspired by Voguing Choreography on Elle
Often confused for Madonna's co-opted version.
That was poetry to my soul.
the original vogue dancers worked with madonna. the godfather of vogue loves madonna. you're not that educated.
Vox can get like 90% of the story right and then throw in something like this showing they don't do research and have an angle on everything. No wonder the company failed.
The girl whit the nose ring who talks in this video appears in pillar point's video called Dove. She makes a really beautiful dance and the location, breathtaking .
i know *VOX* videos are usually short, & that this video was more focused on the American side of *Voguing* ; however, it would've been nice to make this clip longer, & include a little bit of info about how *Voguing* has spread like wildfire to *Japan* , *Taiwan* , & other parts of *Asia* . some of the most famous Asian Vogue dancers were winning notable competitions when they were just pre-teens. a few names to look up: *Aya Sato* , *Bambi* , *Yumeki* , *Ibuki* , *Junko Sasaki* , *Chrissy Chou* (TW), *Polly* (TW), *Lip J* (KR).
*_side note_*_ : all the dancers mentioned above mainly specialize in _*_Waacking_*_ , but they also teach & compete in _*_Voguing_*_ . both styles are very similar, w/ a few minor differences. they also both originated at the same time, & have the same LGBT background; w/ _*_Waacking_*_ being from the West Coast (LA), while _*_Voguing_*_ was from the East (NY)._
oooh, getting my popcorn for this one, this is like that SNL skit "...careful... eassssy, watch iiiit..."
wow I had no idea that the ballrooms and vogueing was still around. I watched paris is burning and the ballroom was the only place the kids had to lay their head at night. It hurt my heart to learn that Madonna and others took what they wanted but left the documentaries participants behind.
Imagine Tucker Carlson vogueing...
🤢🤮
*POC LGBTQ
We exist...
They made it very clear in the video.
You have to go to Paris!! They have clubs just for voguing. It is so cool to watch.
shantay, you stay !
Great video! I had never really known about this before.
Only If Alyssa Edwards Was in this video ... We Would GAG
Cenart you are a glimmer of hope among the awful comments.
Jahan KILL THE TROLLS 👊✊
Cenart Why Alyssa? She doesn't vogue? Lol
LIKE LITERALLY, WE WOULD BE SICKENED
Gurl look how inspirational you look, gurl
