    Fantastic build as always Shane. Enjoy your videos. I know the U.S. colors are a pain to some. I find the challenging and fun to bring out the greens, to make them pop. You've concord the color, very well done my friend.

      that is true, I like the drabs and khakis of US gear can be very striking when do right, though I am still learning better ways of doing it with each figure

    Great Tutorial Shane. That's an interesting and unique way of using the Goliath. I feel your pain, trying to keep the model in the frame while painting isn't an easy thing to do. I find when I'm doing this in my videos I tend to go into a trance and forget sometimes where the model is. I'm really trying to be more aware of what's happening in the frame now going forward. The project turned out really nice.

    • @longlance67
      @longlance67  5 лет назад +1

      It was one of the reasons why I was drawn to this mini as it had so much character and really does standout on my shelf!
      Its the one thing that drives me mad doing figures is trying to keep it in frame and still be able to see what I am doing, the thing I've found that helps is find a spot that is comfortable to hold the figure, frame it and try not to move that hand too much, its not prefect but gives you an idea where your at

    • @SmallSoldier
      @SmallSoldier 5 лет назад +1

      That’s what I try and do. I have my camera set up so I can see it out of the corner of my eye and can glance from time to time to see where I’m at. Hey I really want to do a figure collaboration with you some time. I think we’d work well together. I have some ideas.

      Shane Smyth - scale models Iv never really bothered to do them in the past but I have started to recently and am shocked at how much better models look when given a bit of atmosphere to go with the weathering.

    • @longlance67
      @longlance67  5 лет назад +1

      your very much right, adding a well thought out base can really bring a model to life, I love the idea of doing bases for all my work but unfortunately don't have the space for house them all so I only do bases every now and then

    Hi Shane, fantastic video as usual. If I may ask, how to you soften the edges of the highlights so you don’t get hard edges? Thank you in advance for any advice

    • @longlance67
      @longlance67  5 лет назад

      Hi Mark! so what I do to get smooth transitions between highlights and shadows is to thin the paint with just a tiny amount of water to make it somewhat transparent. So when I applied in thin layers slowly building up the colors focusing the most layers to the tops of creases ect you get a very smooth and subtle highlight transition

    Great video, again! I’ve a question. Did you have to thin the Vallejo Matte Varnish before airbrushing? Thanks in advance.

    • @longlance67
      @longlance67  5 лет назад +1

      yes you do. I tend to go with a ratio of 50/50 vallejo thinner to varnish
