When notary Lebel sits down with Jeanne and Simon Marwan to read them their mother Nawal's will, the twins are stunned to receive a pair of envelopes -- one for the father they thought was dead and another for a brother they didn't know existed.
In this enigmatic inheritance, Jeanne sees the key to Nawal's retreat into unexplained silence during the final weeks of her life. She immediately decides to go to the Middle East to dig into a family history of which she knows next to nothing.
Simon is unmoved by their mother's posthumous mind games. However, the love he has for his sister is strong, and he soon joins her in combing their ancestral homeland in search of a Nawal who is very different from the mother they knew.
With Lebel's help, the twins piece together the story of the woman who brought them into the world, discovering a tragic fate as well as the courage of an exceptional woman.
An adaptation of Wajdi Mouawad's hit play, INCENDIES is a deeply moving story that brings the extremism and violence of today's world to a starkly personal level, delivering a powerful and poetic testament to the uncanny power of the will to survive. - Развлечения
This movie is so strong, filled with twists and emotional. I am filled with emotion long after the movie is over. The anger versus the love.
@FIMOSCAUIOUS Its available in Amazon Prime Video
Just watched it. Still crying right now the plot twist is fucked up, one of the best movies .

It has been 3 years that I'm being told how amazing this movie is. Still I never watched it. This morning I decided that enough of delaying this. I'm gonna prepare breakfast and watch it now 😅😅😅
@@AmiraHmida how did you go with Incendies? It's a pretty powerful movie! I hope you didn't have too much serious stuff on for the day
one of the most chilling movies I have ever seen ... wow
Wow... a powerful movie that proves you don't need enormous inflated Hollywood budgets. Outstanding is an understatement.
Superb film, very memorable. 10 out of 10.
Dennies deserves to win the Oscar soon he is one of the best of our generation.
One of the best movies I've ever watched ❤
People talk so much about the plot twist that I was overanalyzing everything during the movie and I ended up figuring it out before the ending lol but it’s still a good movie
Same here

Same.... I think Old Boy (2003) was better ... I didn't see it coming

i had the pleasure the finally watch Denis Villeneuve best film and its a shame i had waited so long to give it a try.The immersion and tension is palpable the same way Sicario hits you.Raw,horrific but sadly true and this is happening all over the world still in 2024.
Force au peuple libanais qui a tant souffert ❤️
Excellent movie.
If you watch this movie without shedding tears, you are not a human
I am glad that I am not a human anymore.. such things keep happening in this world.. I felt sad but of course I didn't cry because I know the truth. I am just calmly waiting for this world to end.

THIS MOVIE MEEEEE HAD ME LIKE 😱😰😨🙀🤕💔
How
Powerful and absolutlely Masterpiece
Powerful Movie
Just wow
This movie hits extremely hard when you get to know it's a true story😢
the twist is taken from Oedipus
True incident is a labanese spy woman who killed a leader and spent on jail and tortured. Later she rescued. But neither she was raped by his nor son is the father of her child. That's taken from Oedipus.
Saddest thing is it's based on real story.
NO WAY WHAT 💔
The movie and the play it is based on, is extremely loosely based on a true story, and they took a lot of "artistic" liberties. I wonder what Soha Bechara thinks about it? According to her, she was not raped in prison even though she was tortured. There was no incest and or violent bigot uneducated family that were holding her back in real life. She comes from a lefties family. It feels like an Orientalist retelling to cater to a western audience's fantasies about the Middle East because why change her real life struggle of politics and occupation with a gender one. Also by making it a generic country in the Levant or the Middle East it loses it context and meaning. I believe she has an autobiography out so it is best to refer to that instead.
Masterpiece
Just wow 😮
I heard this movie is similar to 2003 korean movie oldboy. Im in!
When I recommend this movie to friends, I say, “it’s like inviting someone to try a super hot chili pepper… it is exhilarating but it is NOT for everyone!”
Anyone here after Dune?
I thought there was going to be incest in the pool scene with the twins and I was preparing myself to puke but gosh I was looking at wrong one...
i feel like it was foreshadowed, i thought the same thing too after knowing the ending, it's fkd up man.
really really loved the movie .. the only thing that bothered me was not using actual Arab actors or at least actors who spoke Arabic well enough to convince me as an Arab guy that they are Arab ... also the story would be more perfect if they worked more on the story building and the Arabic lines from the movie were a little cheesy to watch and just felt translated ..aside from that the movie was fun to watch
1:48 ممتل مغربي Moroccan actor 😍😍
Whoa
Which language it is btw
French language but it's a Canadian film
Horrible.
If that was true.
The mother is a horrible person.
Send her own childrens to found out the terrible history.
I think, there are things that better stay in the past and in silence.
Now they know who they are, from where they are coming from...nothing easy to live with for the rest of your life.
Terrible the mother.
Hi Jenny
You have a point and i do not disagree with you
Life exists in grey and in this case or atleast with the way the story progressed we can see that this journey ended up having a positive effect on the siblings
They were also able to better understand their mother who otherwise was cold to them because of her suffering
Things could have gone either way and hence i do not disagree with you
In this tale though it ended positively and i think that by itself has atleast more than just a little beauty in it
Also the truth can set one free if one is willing to accept it no matter how painful or ugly it is and here it is evident that the siblings have made peace with their reality atleast with themselves
This was my message for you Jenny
Take care and i wish you a prosperous new year 2023
If possible then wish good for me too
Thanks in advance
Ciao 😄✌️ 4p023j24

Dance with the devil -immortal technique
I didn't read anything about this, and what the fuck. Together with The Prestige this is one of the best twists in any movie I've ever watched.
The twist of fortune in this movie is beiond, has a similarity with Oedipus Rex Greek mythology story, the son ends up marring his mother and killing his father, here the son has children with his mother not knowing ,just like Oedipus Rex not knowing that he sleeps with his mother, some similarity,it is mind blown.
Incendies meaning anyone.?
Fire
You've got to have some ounce of a sick and twisted mind to be able to come up with this story (the fictional parts)
read the book it's 10 times better
