Games and Activities to Practice CVC Words IMSE Orton-Gillingham

IMSE instructor Jean Rishel walks you through four games and activities that can help your students learn CVC words.
CVC words are made up of consonant-vowel-consonant construction. They are typically the words we begin teaching in kindergarten as children are starting to learn different letters in the alphabet.

Love this, but I don’t think I’d do it with the typical class size in California (kiddos could be waiting a long time to place a chip / sound out their word unless duplicate words were made- and having duplicates would not be as fun and might feel redundant when say three kids in a row sound out their same word), but I’m making a mental note of this activity for grouped instruction.

These are great activities! How can we make a digital version for remote learning?

you can send different children the game cards for them to make at home and then when you gather in a group play the game the same way by calling the sounds and the children find them on their "word cards?
