The Sondre they talk about was a very good friend of mine. I remember teaching him guitar several years ago, and then we started a band. His last band just finished recording their album in memory of Sondre. Sondre F. Dale, we miss you.
@peko0507 Just to clarify: When the 'forvaring' expires, it can be extended by a court. However, it can only be extended by five years at a time. After five years there will be another hearing, and after another five years, there'll be another hearing, and so on, until he's released or dies.
I send all my love to the friends and family of victims of the massacre, and to those who lived through that and were able to survive. I know no words I can ever say will make you feel better, but I just want you to know that huge numbers of people, including me, support you.
Australia experienced the Port Arthur Massacre, it still bears a deep scar decades later. My deepest condolences to those affected by these cowardly actions and to the Norwegian people, I am so sorry for your loss.
+Parag0n. Both the Utöya and Port Arthur massacres were committed by embittered losers, who saw no future in their lives and blamed their problems on other people.
On behalf of the entire people of the Philippines, we express our sincere and overwhelming sympathy to the victims, relatives and the people of Norway. May you all find justice and peace .
I've watched all the part of this documentary, with sadness and anger in my heart. I will pray for all those who lost their lives and their families, forever. You are all good people and I wish you all the best in your coming future, love from Iceland
No... This is the core issue of the trial: Whether he is insane. If he is found to be legally insane, he will be sentenced to psychiatric care, if he is found not be insane, he will be given a prison sentence. He cannot get both.
He killed someone someone that was 14 years old! and yes he said that the Autopsy was wrong and that he did shot the victims in the head, but bodies don't lie. and how do you mean that 2/3 of his victims he shot in the head? many of those who got shot survived, so i think you did not check in on the details.
I speak on behalf of most people yes, this is instinctive in human behaviour. People always have and always will get together in groups of similar individuals. You see this in all aspects of society.
Thank you for sharing this insightful moving documentary that bears relevance for all the world. Norway stands as a powerful symbol for the power of Faith, Hope and Love. That is the True Power that this act of cowardly hate has elicited. Exemplary Leadership for the Light that will guide Europe through these dark-wing times where the Right draws behind its walls of fear and hatred. Long Live the Struggle for Freedom, Justice, Equality for all, Fellowship within a World Culture of Peace.
@Sthlmsodra87 The Norwegian justice system doesn't work like that. 21 years is the maximum penalty, regardless of the crime. There won't be a cumulative punishment of X years per murder added together. It will be a single sentence of X number of years for all the murders and for attempted murder. My guess is that given the number of people killed, it is highly unlikely that he'd get less than 21 years.
@longbluefingers Actually, I might be wrong, but I thought that they would try to sentence him to 21 years per murder, and then a 1000 acts of attempted murder for the bomb in oslo. But I'm not a 100% sure though.
i can tell you right now that what you suppose that should be done to him, breivik wouldnt wish onto his worst enemies. how civilised does that make you?
nope, he killed 2/3 of his victims by headshots and also shot the wounded in the head when possible. that is the most quick and painless kind of death. also he spared those that he thought were to young to be indoctrinated yet
okay. it's just that he did not torture anyone, like some of the people here think should be done to him. either way, both killing and torturing is wrong
Great documentory, Can we really isolate this Breivik from the rise of Geert Wilders in the Netherlands, Le Pen in France, Vlaams Belang in Belgium, Heider in Austria and similar movement in Denmark?
It's the British Empire that's no more, Great Britain still exists - otherwise, Swedish speakers wouldn't call the UK 'Storbritannien', even though unlike other languages, like French, they don't use the same words for 'Britain' and 'Brittany'. So why not just call Britain 'Britannien' in Swedish? (On a personal note, sorry to hear about your breast cancer - I've lost close family to that. My thoughts are with you!)
Sure... He will get the Krekar treatment: Live freely in a safe house somewhere. If somebody finds out where he is, and tries to hurt him, they'll put him in a fancy hotel, all on the taxpayers' dime.
You just have to acknowledge that: A) European countries have seen a boom in muslim immigration and visibility of islam in public. B) Some people dislike this tendency of various reasons, which is why we see defence leagues, muhammed cartoons and similar. C) One man went further than other critics because he wants people to stop playing the political game, because immigration cannot be stopped politically in his mind - due to every immigrant being an imported pro-immigration vote.
His targets were 100% political. Please do more research. This man hated to see muslim "nationalism" in his homecountry, that's why he acted out in desperation.
well then you cant say anything about 9/11.. whats the difference? none. you choose to support terrorism, then support it. I really dont care. seriously.. like for real. It is literally impossible for me to care any less then i do at this moment.
You contradict yourself. First you state the he was not psychotic. I've always said that he wasnt, the researchers confirmed this and as have you. NOW you state the he IS psychotic and simply did this due to an urge to kill and gain power. I work in psychiatry, you need to do more research and stop being ambivalent. His goal is political, he is a nationalist, his targets were political. He hit the root of his problem, which is actually a sign of intelligence - whether you like it or not.
Dont believe everything you read, many of my comments are provocative to create debate. You have a very simple mind, so obviously you would want to put things you do not understand locked into a "dislike" box and keep it there.
April the 9th: date of independence from fascism. When Norway is under Islamic occupation it is going to have to look to foriegners to save it again. But will the Allies come a second time, that is the question.
Emotions beside, reality is knocking harder in Norway's (Europe too) door... rightwingers, neonazi and nationalist-xenophobia anger is yelling to be heard...
Nothing i wrote here is racist (and i know this, because im not racist), you're just stigmatizing as usual - just like you stigmatize all murders as the murders you have studied. You fail to see the fundamental differences in this very political murderer and other mass murderers of non-political motivation. Again you show that what you dont understand, you have a need to dislike.
Beautiful and moving documentary. I will never forget this, and I hope this will never happen again.

Dette var virkelig nydelig satt sammen!
Takk (:
@Viljarism Okej! Tack för att du förklarade!
Det är väl så att Sverige har ett liknande rätt-system med Norge.
Så meget kærlighed midt i tragedien. Jeg græder stadig, når jeg ser denne film.
Educated are we? In what way?
“We promise no more July 22th”. Broken promise.

THE PRINCE-notice he is tall like the photos of breivik and has exactly the same haircut as the defendent in the court.

@philipsmovies I am from norway and know people who was on utøya so i know for sure that those are not fake.
the trial isnt over. the trial will probably be next year sometime. And it will maybe be near my hometown.. So that's sick.
Speechless...
okay. it's just that he did not torture anyone, like some of the people here think should be done to him. either way, both killing and torturing is wrong
It rather has to do with one mans fantasy of becoming a hero. If you think he is simply killing, then you do not understand him.
All horrible things happens at the number 11?
2011 ?
22/7 = 2+2+7?
something is not good here
Great documentory,
Can we really isolate this Breivik from the rise of Geert Wilders in the Netherlands, Le Pen in France, Vlaams Belang in Belgium, Heider in Austria and similar movement in Denmark?
at the end....the same fake photos as the official ones, they could not find different photos for such a special tribute? fake fake fake.
@ 5.03 Tore Eikland, no close ups of the speech, sounding like HITLER.
He will never come out of prison or wherever he is being sent.. He will never come out, that I know.
1 year ago today. Rest in peace!
Jeg gråter. Helt forferdelig.

Segregation is inevitable. People want to be with people they can assimilate with, not people who are opposite.

@philipsmovies thing is you sound like breivik and he killed 77, so probably you're not such an institution, but that's just a wild guess
@00Andreas00 yes
When did I ever mention Breivik's religious affiliation?
You contradict yourself. First you state the he was not psychotic. I've always said that he wasnt, the researchers confirmed this and as have you. Ofcourse i am, that's how i got educated in psychiatry...
