Demetrius Shuler That's why I never understood why Atem/Yami/Pharaoh was the protagonist. He cheated more than the people who were made to look like the bad guys. His Millennium Puzzle gives him the ability to draw whatever card he needs when he's in a tough situation. Build Yugi's anime deck and test it against Kaiba's. Kaiba's wins a majority of the time. But since Kaiba's egotistical, the next logical choice for who really should've been the protagonist goes to Joey.

I get why yugi had to beat the pharaoh, but I really hate that he did. Why couldn't pharaoh just beat him with some crazy last minute comeback, and yugi just understand his mistake and pharaoh pass to the other side. *sigh* if only
How was this duel filler? It's the series finale and it was in the manga. Sure Kiba didn't need to be there per say but the duel itself wasn't. If anything the miniseries earlier in the season would be filler. The one that they were going to India but ended up in a pyramid and had to play capsule monsters to escape was filler.
