ever growing W̶i̶l̶d̶ ̶ Sad boy
I miss Announcer Voices like this when playing Strive. Hopefully we can get em there soon.
This vid also explains a bit why I like May; all the puns!
oh thank the lord someone who translates the infinite mountain of cool japanese xrd dialogue
Sadly he never got to what they say when fighting. Guess the Character Select series tired him out. Shame, there's practicaly no record of translations about them.

3:32 May's goddamn right
4:16 Player? he sure is!
Kuradoberi Jamu is named after “Cloudberry Jam”.Cloudberry Jam is a Swedish pop group,
I had no idea my favourite character was called Dave.
"Johhny, my beloved"
3:46 If you are unsure about "Removalmkin", you are not in command grab range. Yet.
I humbly ask that you continue this series, its really entertaining!
Excited to see more of this series as I've always been interested in what various characters may have been saying.
I LOVE IT, I'll insta share it with my homies because we are aching for this
I'm so glad you're making more of these!!!!
I like vids and one of the more interesting aspects is always how they call themselves.
I-No = watashi
May = boku
and as far as I know Baiken = ore
You can probably do just another video about the implications of each one of them. :)
ps: Baiken next, please.
The only one I know is that “boku” is a word commonly used by young boys, which shows May’s tomboyish personality.
Additionally, the word most often used by young girls is “uchi”, which Bridget tends to use.
from my own research, I don't speak Japanese and probably missing cultural context
Watashi is gender neutral and more formal, although -older- I mean more mature woman are more likely to use it in a casual sense. As an extra tidbit this is most likely the 1st pronoun you will be taught in Japanese generally safe for most situations, but people might think you're being too polite at times. I don think I-no is trying to be polite tho
Ore is the rougher older counter part of boku, instead of nice young boys like Izuku or young Gohan this is associated with older men, deliquents and other rough types( including teenage boys who want to make themselves sound older and tougher). You could probably use it casually too
Anime characters who a more brash and like fighting are more likely to use this, like Luffy. Kinda makes sense if Baiken thinks of herself as a warrior 1st before considering her gender
She does have terrible puns. I notice in Eastern culture, they do have a great sense of humor, but you have to be in there culture awhile to understand why it is funny and why it is phrased as such. Also, us trying to interpret there language is tricky because our own language doesn't fit meanings sometimes. So you here no alot lol.
In May's win quote against Slayer she refers to a dandy as "someone who goes after both men and women". So could May calling Slayer "Player" be in reference to that? Player is a slang term used for someone who can attract multiple partners.
Amazing that you're making more of these!
you could even say she "MAYKES" terrible puns hehe
Thanks a ton!!! I love this videos
Another one!! Good stuff
yes! thank you for making it a series!
Love these series!
Keep it up
May May maybe make May puns?
I love these vids.
What a fun video, thank you!
I can't believe a name like Zato is the japanese equivalent of Jim
Im really liking these.. I'll watch all of them..
She’s stupid, I love her
“Petman!”
“…”
This is so adorable
May might be making fun of Sin's name being Sin.
Pochomukin (Romanji version of Potemkin) sounds so cute!
Random fun fact: pansa un spanish means belly.
By the way do you think it's actual puns or is she just really bad at saying people's names because i like the latter
Considering how childish some of these are, I think they are puns. Although it would be funny if all of the voice lines were like Elphelt's.
This is cool 👍
I like this
Late to the party but I'm curious if Leo Whitening could also be a play on Ride the Lightning. She says it with a similar cadence to Ky.
I think potemkin’s translation is supposed to mean Junktemkin. Or something like that
this is so silly
♥
Elphelt? Pls
I imagine it's really hard for a Japanese person to pronpunce that.
