    Thanks so much for the video. I was pretty certain that my 10 yr old Intelia was on its last legs. Followed the steps and it’s running like new!
    Average 6 cups /day x 365 x 10 years = 22,000 cups. Amazing that it took that many cups before the filter got completely clogged. I’m going to add this procedure as an annual maintenance procedure.

    I had the same flow problem and was thinking about buying a new unit until I saw this video. I took the metal mash (or the filter) off and found the backside had a layer of coffee grinds. Thanks to your video, the cleaning was easy and the system works fine!

    I first followed the instructions on cleaning the dispenser video. It didn't do it, then came across this video, tried this too, and voila, from zero water flow to back to normal. Problem served. Thanks a lot mate, you saved me trying out various unnecessary part ordering and replacing as well as possibly buying a new machine. Very grateful!

    By far, the best spent 9 minutes on youtube: I have a much more expensive model, but worked just the same! Saved me $$$$, as I almost decided to purchase a new one. Thank you so much! ❤ Suggestion in case you are going to make a new video: your hand is blocking the view on a couple occasions, especially when you putting the piece back before it snaps in, and the video can probably be shortened, and even made into a short if you cut out observations of dripping coffee and running water. A more detailed description of the specific screwdriver could be also useful in the video.

    Marvelous; this fixed two issues -- continually lighting "prime" button, which required 3 or more tries to actually begin dispensing coffee, and the super-slow dripping of the espresso. So happy I didn't have to get it serviced and be without my beloved caffein delivery system for any length of time. THANK YOU!!!!!!

    Have had this issue before. In my case it seemed to be the outlet pipes on the front. Difficult to get that part out and rinsed because you have to take the housing apart and 'pop' a thoroughly glued cap of that sprout part you than have in hands.
    This time I had the same problem but sprout not dirty at all. Cleaned this metal sieve filter like in your video but no real result. Degreased and descaled without result either.
    Also checked all pipes and o-rings, nothing.
    In the end I decided to take out the grinder and clean it after years of use and clogged fatty bean dust.. and suddenly remembered that I had set the grinder screw on finest grind setting a year ago. Putting it back on more coarse grind after having reassembled the total machine gave a steady normal coffee flow. When I put it back to fine grinding the flow gets very slow again.
    Not sure why I didn't encounter this problem before but it might be the new brand/type of beans I have in the machine this week. Maybe they grind so fine which makes the press make such a dense tablet water can't get through fast enough..? Feels similar to pressing the ground coffee too much and/or too much tension when screwing into the machine on a hand-operated espresso machine.
    Hope this experience will help someone ever when checking these comments!

  • @tiffanyfoster6094
    @tiffanyfoster6094 4 года назад +8

    NOTE: hold the filter up to a light before reassembly. Mine seemed ok but then coffee was still slow. Repeated steps and actually examined the filter closely and barely any light was coming through. So, I let the metal filter soak in a vinegar and baking soda mixture for 1h, scrub again and BINGO - back to perfect. (A Coca-Cola soak would work too but I dont have any LOL)
    Woot woot.

      Mine was also clean but the small holes were blocked with invisible rests off coffee. I cleaned them with a tooth brush and checking close to a light that all the holes are clean before reassembly. Also used vinagre and baking soda.
      Now it works fine.

My Intuita (very similar design) was intermittently refusing to pump, showing all the symptoms of being air-locked, the pump making a strange, quieter-than-usual noise, no coffee or water coming out. Had the machine dismantled and ready to replace the pump, then saw this - the metal filter plate was *extremely* clogged, and cleaning it out appears to have fixed the problem. Thanks again for taking the time to put this online.

    Thanks. My Series 5000 made very weak coffee after a while. The amount of coffe was only slightly less. I took it to a coffee machine service because I suspected that the grinder was not grinding properly, despite being set to the finest grade. The grinder was found okay, mechanic told me to buy a stronger roasted coffee. Cool. So I did at home you showed in this video, and the coffee is strong as before.

    Thanks for this video. Partly solved my problem. Days after the cleanup, sometimes I could hear pressure buildup in the brew unit, no coffee nor water coming out and a steam sound coming from the brew unit after. Solve the problem with a slight touch of grease on the spring and on the glass ball. No more priming problem, or blinking light, or pump slowing down or pump clogged. Hope this help others. Note: make sure you use grease provided with machine or coffee machine cleaning kit since it is not harmful if consumed.
    Update (Two days later): Problem is back after few shots. Back to "prime" flashing light again requiring many attemps before getting a descent amount of espresso. Sometimes, I have to slap the side of the machine while priming and to get it back to normal. Maybe a bad electrical connection or sensor ?? I've ordered a new Philips 3200 to replace this one (Philips Xsmall 2000 Vapore - HD8651) getting capricious with time.

    • @OCDaddyZsolt

      My mum's similar machine had this issue. Disassembled it to all the way I could and let it sit in some diluted lemon acid. Then re-assembled, ran a descaling cycle (also with some diluted lemon acid - or can do with a bit of white vinegar) and it works ever since. Could try a descaling cycle first, before you disassemble again.

    Does the big black mechanism( the one with push written on it) have any electronics in it? i got a coffee maker from someone an the mechanism is filled with coffee. i'm asking because i want to give it a proper shower :)

    • @OCDaddyZsolt
      @OCDaddyZsolt  3 года назад

      No, zero electronics in it. It is actually even advised to clean that part once every two weeks, but at least once a month.

    Hi there, I have a Saeco Intuita, very similar machine. I've followed your guide and I still cant get the coffee to pour any quicker. Do you have any other tips?

    • @OCDaddyZsolt
      @OCDaddyZsolt  4 года назад

      There might be a blockage somewhere else then. Do you do regular calc clean and do you clean the grinder unit regularly?

      @@OCDaddyZsolt it was my brother's machine before, he bought a new one and gave me his. He has a Reverse osmosis system, so 0% limescale in the machine - in turn the calc button was highlighted for over a year and there wasn't a need for it. Since I've taken it, I use a gravity water filter which doesn't remove limescale as much - perhaps that's the issue? I clean it every week or so with some warm water

      @@chriscestero Try to flush it through yet with the calc clean. Maybe something got stuck somewhere. Worst case, would need to take apart and clean the parts.

      One more thing that came to my mind: My mum has the same model that I do. For her, the issue was the other day that the two outlets, where the coffee comes out at the very end, were slightly blocked. Had to take the whole machine apart, so I could rinse and clean from the inside. Another idea can be worn rubber o-rings, maybe there is a leak and it is loosing pressure. And one more: When you remove the grinder unit, on the top, there is a small tube sticking out the machine. Sometimes that one gets blocked.
