At least two of the penalties called on the chiefs weren't valid at all. Chris Jones did not "rough the passer" they fell down together, with contact that was initiated right as the ball came out. The PI that came after the no call(it was PI, for sure), wasn't PI. The offensive player straight up ran into the defender. That's called offensive pi, not defensive. I'd say the refs were just terrible last night, all around. the last few years it’s been terrible, the leagues gotten so fast and complex both they can’t keep up. they need more officials out there or what they really need is to use instant replay and give coaches a camera available too at all times. they get 3 challenges a game outside of 2min of each half/regulation, have to get 2 correct to get a fourth. and anything close inside the 2min is reviewed no question. not just 3rd downs every inch matters

I'd call that a pass interference every time. That said, it's the exact type of play that if it were the other way around and the refs called it on the other team near the end of the game, people would be screaming, "even if it was dpi, you can't call that. Keep the flag in your pocket! Let them play!" Also, even if it got called and the Falcons scored, the Chiefs would have 4 minutes needing just a field goal to take the lead back. I agree it was a bad call, but it was far from what won the Chiefs the game.

Where both teams get a chance to respond. They act like these penalties that COULD have led to pints 100% would have sealed the win for the other team.
KC has gotten some last minute calls that did end the game over the years. But what bums me out as a Chiefs fan, is the lack of respect the D gets. Mahomes looks like a mid level QB out there right now, but they've stayed in these games with 3 really high end offenses. At least teams with a lot of offensive weapons

The Falcons also would have had the chance to go for 2. If they made it they would be up 3. Now, having said that, do I think that there's any chance that Patrick wouldn't be able to march down the field with 3 timeouts and 4 min on the clock to, at the very least, secure a game tying field goal? No, never a doubt.

I am a chiefs fan. I have seen calls for us and against us. We have been penalized for things we didn’t do. We have been penalized for things we did do. We have also not been penalized for things we should have been penalized for. At times it feels like the refs are against us. Other times, it feels like they ignore certain penalties at certain times and notice other penalties at different times. The flags are Inconsistent. But you can overcome unreliable refs and serious mistakes with good play and good coaching. Which is what the chiefs, patriots, 49’ers, Steelers have done.

To all the people saying that the missed PI this week was worse than last week.. they’re not even similar. One is truly a bang bang play, look at how close the ball is and London still had a chance to catch it. Rice didn’t have a chance because he got blasted in the back WELL BEFORE the ball got there, both were PI but one is a HECK of a lot closer to a legal defensive play and it wasn’t last week’s.. put this in perspective if he located the ball it’s not PI, the referee thought he turned his head so no flag was thrown. Last week a defender went THROUGH the receiver. They’re not remotely similar one gets called 100% of the time and one is probably around 30%. Both definite PI but one is egregious and one is subtle

I don't mind people pointing out the bad/missed calls, but don't leave out the ones that hurt the Chiefs. Example, the roughing the passer penalty on Jones, look at where the tackles hand is. It's in Jones' facemask. The PI in the Bengals game, if the roles were flipped Cincy fans would've expected that flag. Refs are human, they make bad calls against all teams.

This call hinges on Cook turning his head or not. If he turns his head, this isn't DPI. We all know he didn't turn his head and this was a bad call. It's that simple.
But the refs have said they didn't see enough contact to warrant DPI and I'm guessing they couldn't see if Cook turned to look for the ball. The one angle that shows the Back Judge makes it look like Cook tried to look before being screened by Pitts' body. The contact doesn't appear to alter Pitt's movement or momentum and the ball is slightly underthrown given the position of Pitts and Cook. The contact isn't enough to make a DPI call so I can understand the mistake.
That said it's still a massive mistake because Cook didn't get his head around. This isn't college and you can't face guard.

Nick Bolton & Chamarri Conner (not the darn refs!) saved the Chiefs in all 3 games so far this season. Chiefs dominate, even with unforced errors, that's what all great teams do. Pat, cut out the ref cheap shots - just week 4 of the season, and they're irritatin like sm vintage Bobby The Brain Heenan😒

yeah, nevermind the last drive those were 3 phantom penalties. horse collar he only had jersey. the pi was the receiver running and pushing off the defender. the hands to the face they never even showed in the broadcast. The broadcasters never seemed to see it anywhere.

How is no one talking about the mistake the Falcons made that cost them the game. What happened to kick a field goal, get the game to 2 points with 4:05 left, with 3 timeouts. If they trusted their defense they had a good chance to win the game still.

Yea...but the refs gave the Falcons a touchdown with that bad "roughing the passer" call...I mean, the guy couldn't even see the quarterback anymore because he was having his head ripped off by the hands to the face...

Yes, bad call but throw it high top give your guy a better chance. But yes, bad call, so kick a field goal. You have 3 time outs. Get the ball back (and they did) and kick another field goal with all the penalties that went your way this time. You win!

First off, there was not a face mask foul that the refs called against the Chiefs. They called that interference foul against McDuffie, neither were fouls according to the announcers. So it went both ways.

Don't forget the penalty that wasn't correct and set up touchdown for Falcons

After that penalty that cost the Bengals the game last week I closely watched all the contested catches yesterday. My conclusion. Bengals got hosed BIG TIME.

I bet they don’t want to talk about that BS call roughing the passer on Jones. That would have been 4th down .
