I’m not sure why everybody treats Mahomes with kid gloves. The problem the chiefs are having is because of him. He is the one not passing Kelce the ball & throwing Kelce under the bus.

How is he throwing Kelce under the bus? Would you rather have him force the ball into double coverage? Defense's are selling out to stop Kelce right now, things will open up when defense's start trying to deal with Rice as well. No need for panic, he will get his numbers.

People are forgetting the front half of the Chiefs schedule is the hardest in the NFL by a healthy margin. For about the first 7 games, it then gets substantially easier. On top of that the Chiefs are going to get everyone’s best effort. They’ve been the team to beat for 5 years, they are the bench mark. The Chiefs offense is having to reset because of all the injuries. I think they’ll pick it up in a few games but Mahomes does need to be more patient. He’s frustrated because they were finally going to have a good lineup but ended up pretty much the same as last year. Just has to change his mindset.

Steele "did a pretty DAMN good job.." is exactly right! 72 yards in his first game as a true rookie! Credit the interior three - 52, 62, and 65. Mahomes doesn't trust his LT's for good reason, so a big issue with the passing game is giving MVPat15 room/time to throw. Mahomes also had 17 yards rushing. Looks like X is still getting comfortable, and the offense has lost WR1 (which is now def. Rashee Rice!) and RB1. For years Pat bailed out the horrific defense, and now the opposite is happening. I personally think 87 showed up to camp out of shape, he looks frumpy. Nick Wright said that Trav has 6-10 Travis Kelce games left in him. We need to let this offense simmer and develop. Props to Brett V. for getting JuJu. My question, is where in the world is 17 in this offense. 24 is a waste of reps. Why not cut him and put Justyn Ross on the 53 man active roster and use him for jump balls in the red zone. We stink in the red zone.

The very next play Chris Jones paid it back and roughed their quarterback. If you mess with Mahomes,,your quarterback will catch hell from Chris Jones. That will hurt! I hate how blatant holding has become the norm. They don't even try to hide it anymore - just grab two fists full of jersey and hold on for dear life. If they happen to still get lateral to you despite two hands full of jersey, just tackle them since that's apparently allowed now.
Right now we are a smash mouth offense and we should embrace that with defenses playing two high safties. I feel like we could mix in a lot more traditional play action. Perine was a steal for us and could fit that role perfect. I'm pretty sure he was simply mismanaged/under utilized by shitty teams in the past - in the past 4 seasons he's averaged over 4 yards a carry and 8 yards a reception.
As for the no call DPI in the 4th quarter, I'm glad they didn't call that as that type of DPI call has always pissed me off regardless of what team it is on - I played d-back. It was a bad under thrown ball. Hard to say that the contact prevented the WR from being able to make the catch when the DB is in the position where the ball literally hits him in the lower back. Had the ball been up in the air where the WR wanted it and was jumping for it, then it would be a different story.

Pacheco can do that, but Steele feels like he might end up being better for that specific use case scenario. Having a guy that can break a few tackles and push a pile means they either need bigger guys up front which slows down the passrush, or they need to bring players down to help with the run defense, which opens up passing more. I think Steele can create an overall better situation if he is used consistently.

Yeah but they’ll lose the important games, like always. People are forgetting the front half of the Chiefs schedule is the hardest in the NFL but a healthy margin.

The only thing that scares me about us being so successful for the past 6 seasons is complacency, hearing Pat at that press conference is actually a sign of relief knowing he’s still hungry and acknowledging/willing to work on the things that need to be corrected (that’s the mentality of a champion right there, that’s why we’ve won 3 SBs in the past 6 seasons). P.s our guys have earned the right to get the benefit of the doubt, it’s actually pretty scary to think we’ve been playing like crap and are still 3-0 😂 Shows how great we really are!

We just gotta enjoy every moment with them because when they’re gone, the odds of us going back to just a mediocre franchise who will be below to sub .500 and getting bounced in the first round or not even making the playoffs is very high (just ask the patriots 😂).

They are eager just to make it to the playoffs for a 3 peat. When years prior they were excited and thrilled every week. You could see it in their eyes, their emotions. Mahomes just says "yea, I sucked I need to do better, and somehow we win." Don't harp on a loss, but that's the least caring Mahomes I have seen.
