And the sole jutsu that got Minato to become the 4th, the reason why he became dangerous, yeah man he'd totally would have other jutus that woulda done it. Out of all the Hokage, I would definitely consider Tobirama to be the genius of the group. He invented many powerful jutsu that are highly relevant to the shinobi world and he is extremely logical.
I really like how he examined Juubito instead of just being in shock and awe of his power. When it comes to strategy and leadership, Tobirama is one of the best in my opinion out of all the Hokage.
Naruto & Hashirama are good at inspiring people and are powerful alone, but Tobirama can utilize many people and coordinate attacks. I also like how he was willing to die and entrusted the title of Hokage to Hiruzen.
All and all, Tobirama is a very cool character and a complete badass (I also love his style)

Space Cowboy I see minato as more of the genius. Tobirama is extremely intelligent but that’s mostly wisdom, it’s Bc he’s been around the block a few times, he knows the ins and outs of everything. Minato in a much shorter life took 2 of Tobirama’s jutsu, learned to use them way better than he ever did, added his own jutsu modeled after the bijou bomb to his arsenal and that was enough for him to basically fight and win a war by himself. I really can’t see Tobirama doing that in Minato’s place, I also couldn’t see him beating Obito in the conditions Minato did. With the 9 tails rampaging, his wife and son in danger, and some dude who can’t be hit and can one shot you if he can touch you at all, that seems like too much. Tobirama is more like oruchimaru who gained all his knowledge through experience while Minato is more like Sasuke who’s young but just as battle intelligent just because of how quick they learn and how creative they are, that’s why I’d call him more of a genius

I know minato did the jutsu better and tobirama complimented minato is faster, but how much better is unknown/ i think only speed as when tobirama asked minato how many tentails bomb minato can carry, minato replied 2 which tobirama said earlier he can carry two as well. When Minato alive , he teleported the kyubi and he was tired while edo tobirama who is 80% power carry two tail beast mode and he is not tired at all and you should not forget the fact that there are other villagers and third hokage there fought the nine tail while minato fought obito. ALso,i think tobirama is kind of bad luck, in his era there was hashirama and madara they are god so tobirama cant compete with them while in minato era , the ninja are pretty weak compare to tobirama era.

Hey Hayes not really. It’s the fact that everyone has been saying what he said in this video. We already that Ginkaku and Kinkaku were strong. We already knew that Tobirama was extremely smart and strong. My problem is that he called him fodder, and always makes home seem like a joke when he compares him to other kage.

Why you thought otherwise, just because Tobirama is trash in some key aspects it's not like he stops being cool, a great support in battle to see, very smart and a good character overall, plus there is a sea of wankers of him and he isn't underrated at all and instead jerked off the charts despite the clear nature and inferior status (and especially when they got handled and by who) of the ones that always thrashed him as a supposed Hokage-level fighter, you could in fact go add to your opinion that he is even somewhat equal to his peers Hashirama and Madara or his student Hiruzen (not at 70 years old of course, it's a lot more closer there and even partially bad for Hiruzen) and the clueless and lazy people wouldn't notice anything.
It's good that you now somehow feel calm and free with that but you got to understand that there wasn't any problem to begin with, now try having and saying that Hiruzen is your favourite instead lol, or even Minato in some situations (with Tobirama wankers on the spot is one of those).

Tobirama may not be the strongest but definitely the wisest. He's more of a warrior and scientist at the same time. If he was alive for a little longer, maybe he could have develop many other impressive but forbidden jutsus. He relies more on his brain than just brute strength. And there's a misconception that he hated the uchiha. After being brought back by Orochimaru , he clearly states that he won't hesitate to kill anyone who's a threat to Konoha let it be his own brother. Moreover, dude doesn't have any kekkei genkai and neither is a jinchuriki which makes him even more amazing.
His assessment/research of the Uchiha and their kekkei genkai is well-reasoned and its strongly implied he wanted to help them despite hating them.
I imagine a big part of that was the Uchiha-police wich gets a lot of flag because people (even in the Manga itself) assume that they were automatically hated for being law enforcement. Him moving the Uchiha to the outskirts of Konoha was I think an attempt by him to portray them as protectors of the village since in an attack they would be the first to defend the village due to their location. I really like him because you can understand his reasoning and why its in good faith but also flawed despite him only getting shit on for his Uchiha-Hatred.

My opinion has changed slightly. In part 1 edo Tobirama could completely overpower and extinguish Hiruzen's Flame Bomb which is a flame that is so hot that it turns anything to ash within seconds. And Hiruzen was the strongest of the Five Kage at that time. So the fact that heavily nerfed Tobirama could extinguish it and then create more water us quite a feat that is overlooked. He may not be able to create the quantities of water Kisame could be maybe he was more powerful with it pound for pound. There aren't any statements saying he's the greatest so that's just hyperbole people use

@Abdalla Kordeir The Uzumaki have no feats to be up with the Uchiha and Senju, theyve been inflated like all clans that had been wiped. Even Haku's clan was destroyed for being too powerful yet no one is putting them at par with the Uchiha and Senju.
@Abdalla Kordeir In naruto the strongest village is Konoha, the others are pretty irrelevant tbh. The Uzumaki have no feats that put them on par with the Senju or even Uchiha. The best you can give them is their chakra reserves, but in the end they are still just cousins of the Senju, which is basically their biggest proof of power.
There are only claims of the Uzumaki being really strong, yet nothing has been shown to back up their claims. This is the same as the Hyuga being the strongest on Konoha, when they havent been shown to overpower neither the Senju Nor the Uchiha, so it ends up as something said rather than it actually being like that.
In which point did they show that the average Uzumaki is stronger than the Average Uchiha, let alone the average Senju? This talk of average people ends up as bs when in the end 1 strong person can change the course of battle completely into his favour, and the Senju/Uchiha have some of the strongest fighters ever, with the Uzumaki having only Naruto, who is not even 100% Uzumaki.
The Uzumaki are probably really strong, but I wouldnt put them on par with the Clans that are basically the center of all main events on Naruto.
The clan of Haku is the Yuki clan, exterminated due to their Kekkei Genkai.
The second Hokage is the the most qualified Hokage the leaf ever had. He’s a genius he’s super powerful and On paper he’s a more accomplished ninja than even his own brother.
Up to the fourth hokage they make sense. 5 and 6 are incredibly good in their own rights but dont really have that invincibility status the previous did. I dont consider boruto cannon so hokage naruto doesn't exist

Tobirama is actually very much underestimated by the Naruto fandom. He took out Izuna who is almost an equal to Madara before EMS. He is the best Hokage in my opinion being able to handle both the light and dark of the village by himself.

So, Orochimaru is the closest one to the Batman of Narutoverse i guess.
You FORGOT to mention that the Second Hokage can do Water Release: Water Dragon Bullet Technique (Suiton: Suiryudan no Jutsu) with just one seal but other high-tier shinobis like Kakashi still took the typical weaving of fourty-four hand signs to use the said jutsu, which means that Tobirama has immensely great chakra control.
That was anime only, and thus when powerscaling we can't use that feat.

Tobirama is one of my favorite Kage. He’s slept on so hard. Design wise he’s S tier. Lore wise A tier. Impact on series S/A tier. When he was first resurrected he and his brother both cracked the floor and shook the room they we in just by their sheer presence of getting serious(nerfed by EDO).

One cool feat people forget, is that Tobirama was an absolute beast at water style. Remember the Water Dragon Bullet jutsu used at the beginning of Naruto Part 1 by Kakashi and Zabuza? It took both of them a whole 44 hand signs to perform the jutsu, Tobirama in his fight with Izuna was able to perform the jutsu with just 4 signs, Tobirama is on another level.

I could have sworn the Ranking the Kage video had him lamenting the place he gave Tobirama just because he didn't have enough evidence to justify his actual power back then. Tobirama was always epic, he's just more of "The Batman" when it comes to Hokage like the video explains. Tobirama's not the most powerful, although he honed his abilities to overpowered levels & invented all these cool Jutsu that others later learned from him using them.
Literally every hokage has an in depth backstory except my dude tobirama. If he gets revived in boruto we need a backstory

He's the Lore kage. Not always best represented in raw numbers or feat, but name an aspect of life in Konoha or some famous technique and Tobirama's name would be all over it.

Yes, I’ve been saying this for years! Tobirama is the best shinobi that ever lived. He was acting as an Hokage even when his brother was alive. Granted he didn’t have as much power as Hashirama but he definitely more than compensated in intelectual prowess
Actually, the second hokage is my fave among hokages. Underrated since his death was not shown. But I'm sure he was outnumbered and his chakara was at 30-40%. And he was probably against really elite shinobi.

I really hate that they didn’t let him break out of the reanimation jutsu. He created it and even Madara broke out of it (because he knew the hand signs). I didn’t like that they gave Sasuke a choice like if the Kages would just let him destroy their village.

However Tobirama felt about the Uchiha at the beginning of the village, it's obvious he did change over time. First of all, he gave the Uchiha power as the police force. He put their power to good use, as you would expect from someone as practical as Tobirama. Second...and this is very important, he was wiling to let an Uchiha become the 3rd Hokage. Remember, before he went to face the Gold and Silver brothers, he was testing the 3 pupils with him: Danzo, Hiruzen, and Kagami Uchiha. Whoever offered to sacrifice themselves first would be named Hokage. Hiruzen was the one to step up first, but if it had been Kagame, then he would have become 3rd Hokage. Meaning Tobirama gave an Uchiha, an Uchiha that was also his student and one of his closest advisors, as much of a chance to become Hokage as he did Danzo and Hiruzen. That alone should tell you by the end of his life, his negative feelings toward the Uchiha had diminished with time.
Danzo misunderstood Tobirama and took his teacher's views way too far.

He trusted kagame with his life, he placed the strongest Uchiha in the village at the time, in a position where he could've easily killed him. Kagame could've launched a surprise attack and killed tobirama, but Tobirama trusted him.
Giving the Uchiha's something to do like protect the village with their deadly powers was a good idea. It was a sign of understanding from Tobirama's part and belief that the Uchihas can use their hate-fueled power for better instead of letting it control them. He understood them.

I think the 1st Hokage is more powerful, obviously. But... Tobirama stands a solid chance at beating him with prep time in my opinion. He's a very versatile and ruthless Kage who doesn't hesitate when it comes to moral dilemmas. And he'd surely know more than anybody else what his brothers weaknesses are. He's underrated for sure.

Tobirama has always been my favorite ever since I first seen him use water style from thin air.
I absolutely think he could take on minato. He has the speed, the chakra, and the brains to do so, and who knows how many other story-line changing, forbidden jutsu he has under his belt.
Tobirama is probably the absolute worst matchup for Minato.
Minato uses his rush speed and reaction speed to overwhelm his enemies (most other ninja seem to specialise in physical strength, endurance or elemental techniques) and has specialised in one technique over all that is incredibly effective against most enemies. Hes battle smart (a buffon socially, it seems from the snippets we get, but definately smart in battle) and more than capable of taking on multiple enemies, and to top it off, hes very visually distinct and likely uses his image to intimidate his enemies.
Tobirama also specialised in speed. Hes a genius in battle and doesn't seem capable of being intimidated in battle (where Shikamaru and others get surprised and overwhelmed momentarily, Tobirama is already analysing and counterplanning), which isn't surprising since he spent most of his formative years fighting and entire clan of murderous Uchiha who could pull out new jutsu out of their ass in every battle thanks to their sharingan- I fully believe the reason Tobirama has so many jutsu is to counter Uchiha (its likely that jutsu only "work once" against warring Uchiha, so he would need new strategies and techniques every single battle to even stand a chance, consideing he cant just pull wood release or a bijuu out of his ass). He is very reactionary and adaptive.
Basically, Minato is fighting another Minato, except this Minato gave up the social charisma in favor of battle prowess. A standard fight for Minato in his life would be against slower enemies with no counter to his teleporting. A Tobirama standard fight would be Tobirama upping his speed to face against enemies who, just by unlocking base sharingan, can track and follow his moves and copy his abilities (likely a reason he even developed the dragons jutsu to work with a single handsign. try and copy that, Uchiha), who have occular genjutsu and a stupid wide variety of distance attacks thanks to their eyes.
Essencially, Tobirama is more resourceful. Minao never HAD to be more resourceful (not saying hes a slouch- man sealed the kyūbi woth a reaper seal, thats not just a trival jutsu to learn for fun), at least not to that extent.
I would LOVE a Minato vs Tobirama fight. It would be great. Minato would probably have the time of his life, and it would be interesting for Tobirama to fight another teleporter. The fight would definately be a lot of chasing and traps and Minato adapting to someone who can't be one-shot-rushed (he could pribably be one-shot if Minato managed to trap him, but not in a rush, how Naruto and Sasuke-Kakashi do, Tobirama would likely evade if he can) and Tobirama adapting to someone who evolved his teleporting jutsu further than in his lifetime and who likely wont be intimidated by his killer instinct (man literally faced off against Kyūbi while his wife was dieing. If he doesnt get KI stunned in that situation, I don't think Tobirama can stun him with it).
@@aag2139. Minato has better feats. And, Tobirama got blitz by old man Hiruzen, because he was able to retrieve Naruto from the God Tree and Tobirama wasn't. He's very overrated. And, Minato is just as analytical as Tobirama. He was easily able to figure out how to counter Obito's Kamui. Minato has to edge in almost everything.
Tobirama is actually one of my favorite. He is a lil wildcard in terms of popularity as Tobirama is a much more decisive and less humorous Kakashi. He doesn't sugarcoat it and all of his decision is for the welfar of the hidden, even if it may not be something that appeases everyone like what Hashirama tried to do

God does it feel good to finally hear that. Tobirama is one of my favorite characters but heoften gets downplayed, finally he gets some recognition. He may not be the most proficient in a particular jutsu but he invented some of the most badass jutsus.

Forbidden because normal ninjas would die after using it. Tajuu kage bunshin no jutsu can only be used by someone who has massive chakra reserves. A random chunin would just die instantly and a skilled jounin dried of their chakras after just using it one time.
He's also good with lightning skill as same as water, even his legendary Wepon are lightning dual blade.

I definitely think he’s underestimated. I think the Reason Bijuu can’t break out and Obito can is because the white Zetsu attached to him that are actually Hashirama cells and maybe a little of his own amplification. Kinda like the same way Madara can now make wood clones. He didn’t always have that ability!
Tobirama was a genius that was nerfed. Several clones with that speed, intelligence, and not nerfed would be awesome. He was used to battle some pretty awesome Uchiha’s! Some of their Jutsu and prowess are insane. So I wouldn’t doubt what he’s capable of when he was alive.

Tobirama created some of the most impressive jutsu of all time, and did his damnedest to keep konoha together after the VERY tumultuous period after Hashiramas death. He was also arguably the most STONE COLD hokage ever, dude did NOT fuck around mainly because he felt that Hashirama was too soft with how he handled the uchiha and other threats as well. Add on top of this that he led the village during the 3rd great ninja war, dude was a hardened soldier arguably more than any other Kage.

I think its partially cause he has no special abilities that he was born with. Like no ocular jutsu or sage mode or anything. So theoretically anyone could become as powerful as Tobirama.
If anything though that should make Tobirama more impressive. He represents the absolute limit on how far a shinobi has ever gone without any inherited/given ablities.
The Batman comparison is quite fitting. Batman also has no innate powers yet he holds his own with all these supernatural beings simply by pushing the limits on how far the human body + human tech can go

One of the most oversaught characters in Naruto ever in terms of importance.
Tobirama has been my favorite of the historical characters for a long time. The way I see it, he spent his whole life up until the founding of Konoha at war. Then, once the village was established, he spent pretty much the whole time up until his death establishing the institutions of the village to make his brother's dream a reality. Everything we've seen indicates that Hashirama had a shitload of power and a dream. Tobirama seems to have been the guy who handled the details. My point is, he probably didn't have much in the way of free time at any point in his life. At most, he had a few years before the start of the First Shinobi World War to actually take a breather. Somewhere in all of this business, he managed to invent three of the most broken techniques in the whole series. He didn't have any bloodline that we know of, and anyone can use these. Plus these are just the ones we know about. Imagine what this guy could have come up with if he'd had a decade or two where he didn't have to fight a war or be in charge of anything.

Tobirama literally carries the whole juubito fight till the tree appeared...he was clearly the most prepared, aware, and resourcefull of them all...and he is also superior to minato without kcm.
I loved this dude's design when I first saw him in like 6th grade on Toonami, kept wanting MORE. Why no other ninja have the badass headband and fur? Thought he was Kakashi's papa at first

Hashirama had an awesome "gimmick" power in the sense that it built around a theme and common element.
Tobirama invented techniques that just broke the world at the time's rules.
