These two have been compared many times throughout Naruto and Shippuden and are competitors for the Hokage title back in their time, but just who wins and why? Who is more skilled? Who is faster? Who is stronger? If Orochimaru didn't lose his way, would he have been a better Hokage choice for 3rd Hokage Hiruzen?

Please correct me if I’m wrong on this but I’m basing it off of itachi and sasukes fight with sage Kabuto where itachi had to use iznami because all other genjutsu was ineffective.
@@Kovu2004 Actually, that was a one off case because Kabuto actually blocked his own eyesight to prevent either of the Uchiha brothers from nailing him with a genjutsu and ending the fight. That's why Itachi went with Izanami, a genjutsu which entraps ALL senses not just sight. I still think Sage users are better at blocking genjutsu otherwise Pain would've probably nailed Naruto with a Rinnegan genjutsu and taken him in easily.

I'd like to remind everyone Minato thought he was Madara. He planned to fight Madara. He was confident that he could stall Madara Uchiha long enough for the 3rd to deal with the Nine Tails.
Granted he never met Hashirama or Madara so he didn’t know how powerful they would be, this is still an amazing feat.
now that you've pointed that out it is very interesting how ready minato was...... i feel like in character, minato would be ready to fight ANY threat to the leaf regardless if it was madara or anyone else. I don't think minato could defeat madara (a debate that i don't feel too versed in to say definitively) but the fact that minato charged into the fight pretty much unwavered is just another testament to why i love him.

Its actually weird how none of the edo tensei talk about the afterlife. The Kage Kabuto brought back didn't even know a long period of time had passed since they died and when they saw each other they were like square up.

NoOne IsBetter you’re right. I believe that there was so much bad juju surrounding Naruto with the whole Ninetails already. Then, adding on Minatos 3rd War feats, surly would’ve made Naruto an even bigger target. Teleportation is so crazy in naruto it’s kind of deus ex machina, obito loses to minato kind of the same reason everyone else loses to him later on. Obito’s teleportation is just not as spammable. FTG is the only teleportation in the series that has no draw backs. After teleporting multiple times in battle and throughout the village he goes on to teleport a biju dama and still had enough chakra to continue fighting the nine tails and summon the death reaper seal... Minato is definitely the ultimate chad dad 😂

I think a lot can be said for Minato during the fight with Obito. Not just because he figured out how Kamui works so quickly, but because like you said, he figured that Obito HAD to be Madara because of how powerful he was. And he wasn't afraid. He dismissed the thought right after. It didn't matter if he was Madara, the guy who's mere name makes every ninja in the world shit their pants. It's irrelevant. You're getting fucked up all the same.

I feel Minto is underrated because his combat style. He doesn’t use big flashy attacks like most fan favorite do. He uses his speed for most his battles and I think that leads people to under estimate him. If he used flashy Jutsu people would be all over him

The thing here is, the same 4 tailed naruto was pummelling Pain, who as we know is considered pretty strong, at the above sannin, AKA Itachi level.
The thing is, each character seems to have different disfribution of STATS. Pain has been shown to be able to take a lotta damage coz they are literally dead bodies that can function until they smashed to smithereens. Similarly, but not as much, Orochimaru is pretty durable, able to take on the brunt of the kyubi's attack. Minato has never really tanked an attack, and prolly can't without sage or kyubi amp, making him more of a hax and speed based fighter.
Why didn't they just make a prequel of Minato? This is what why need!!!
TBH I'd be bored after the first 80 stomps they should make the prequels covering the 2nd ninja war from multiple village perspectives. But personally the best idea would've been a star wars clone wars style warring states period show. Where the show could just hop freely between time periods this could also work for the 2nd war too

No disrespect to Minato but I don''t find him that interesting. He has 0 growth, and doesn't have any hurdles that most shonen protagonists go through. I wish they would go more in depth on his time training under Jiraiya and his two teammates. I think an era during the Warring states period would be interesting. Or something that focuses on samurai during Mifune's childhood learning to become shinobi? I'd rather see the 3rd Raikage get his series.

I think when hiruzen was saying that he couldn't let the third coffin be summoned, I think it was that he didn't want another person to fight against him. I think he just thought that a 3 on 1 fight would be unfair, especially because all three of the people were kage level+.

Honestly speaking, in a nerfed state Minato could be considered the strongest Hokage. By far.
Despite having civilian blood he had enough chakra to spam Hiraishin, which should either mean
1. Some random ass civilian blood had enough chakra to body an entire shinobi army
Or
2. He perfected Hiraishin in a way that made the cost significantly less to use (He modified Hiraishin).
In the first case, I would argue he would still have enough chakra for a couple uses of Hiraishin, like maybe 15 times. That's 15 times he could attack (Note it is a TELEPORTATION jutsu, it's speed is not capped by chakra, it's speed is always the dame) Hiruzen or let the other 2 hokage dodge an attack (Might require 2 uses.)
His speed not being nerfed even if he himself was nerfed means he wasn't really nerfed at all because his most outstanding feat is that he is just too fast for anyone to fight. Imagine this - both kage can't use their signature jutsus and Minato has relatively the same strength he did before he died but with less time to do it.
Minato was simply insane. If he could spam Shadow Clones like Naruto I have no doubt he would master both Sage mode and Wind style rasengan before the 9-tails attack.
And for those who wonder whether it's a feat he made Rasengan when Naruto learnt it in like 3 weeks, this dude created an entire new GENRE of jutsus by himself in 3 years.

Everyone is joking on the water jutsu wank but it is still super impressive. He literally controls the water he creates without using specific jutsu. You could almost argue that at the time it was implying he had as much control over water as harashiama had over wood style. Hear me out tho, just watch the battle. Without weaving any other signs they both managed to simultaneously create a forest and body of water that were attacking and countering hiruzen while standing still... they didn’t do a single jutsu they just stood there using a singular hand sign. I think originally Tobirama was supposed to be the water equivalent of his older brother but was later retconned into the forbidden jutsu creator weaker version of everything guy

Minato rasengan his ass first, then Naruto sage rasengan his jubito ass in front of his dad. I came during both! They used the same music and everything 🥰
people like to make fun of the fact that Obito matched Minato when he was only like fifteen or something, and thing that makes Minato weak. First off, lets ignore the fact that age doesn't determine absolute strength or skill seeing as how at fifteen Naruto beat Pain. Lets just list some of the advantages Obito had going into this fight. 1) he had a mongekyo sharringan which gave him more versatile teleportation and allowed him to become literally untouchable. 2) Hashirama cells which amped up his strength and stamina. 3) access to wood style, even though he didn't use it in this fight it was still in his arsenal. 4) control of the freaking Nine Tails. 5) training from the actual Madara Uchiha, the greatest fighter in Uchiha history. 5) knowledge on Minato seeing as how he studied under him and knew his techniques. 6) the fact that Minato knew nothing about him at all when they fought, including nothing about his moves and abilities. (i considered mentioning a village full of hostages including Minato's son but you already get the point)
And despite all of those advantages, Obito doesn't get in a single hit. He tries to absorb him, and fails. Tries to wrap him in a chain, and fails. Then tries to absorb him again. Those are literally the only moves he has the chance to use against Minato. The result? He gets taken out in one hit, loses an arm, has control of the Nine Tails taken away from him, is marked with one of Minato's thunder god seals, and is forced to retreat because he already knows he can't win. All in the span of ten seconds.
Thank God someone else sees it. don't forget that he was training for over a year preparing to attack konoha, so massive preptime and help from Madara,plus knowledge on minato and kushina and even the element of surprise,he had everything going for him and couldn't win.
Then people wanna say that adult Obito,with none of these advantages, is gonna beat minato because he faught him at 14, that's dumb,the only Obito I see beating minato is juubi jinchuriki Obito,that's it.

Everyone thinks that Minato is trash because he’s always low on chakra despite the fact that he transports multiple tailed beast bombs and masters the flying rajin. He also uses it better than the second hokage. Also Minato uses it all the time every battle when the only three people alive who learned a variant of the technique during the war took them a while to complete the jutsu, and they are special jonin class.

Same, now that I’ve realized everything about Minato, he’s just on a different level.
The reason orochimaru is such a good character is because of how underwhelming his abilities are. He doesn’t have visual prowess, kyubi buff, or uzumaki blood, yet he’s able to be kage level due to his insane intellect and knowledge of jutsu.
Minato is basically the same in a sense then cause he didn’t use any visual prowess but has god tier reaction speed, he’s a perfect sage, something Orochimaru couldn’t do, he not an uzumaki, and he’s also a mad genius basically greater than

The reason Hiruzen did not want the 3rd coffin to be summoned, because it would make the situation much much worse rather than him becoming specifically scared of Minato. Also with Hiruzen's conversation with Anko about Minato was not about Minato defeating Orochimaru and that Orochimaru trained since then. He was just saying to Anko the fact: Minato is dead, don't bring it up in the conversation. There is no point in dwelling on it. They have to deal with the current threat.

That's why hes chilling so much in boruto because he doesn't care about a damn thing as long as hes left alone to conduct his experiments lol

You should do an analytical battle and just determine who is a better on site strategist between Minato, Tobirama, and Shikamaru…. They all have some crazy things done in split seconds that are described in detail the manga and on screen that overshadow anyone else. Not saying they can pull off all of the moves they say but just to come up with them on the spot is insane.
In theory, Minato could also stack Sage Mode with KCM2 just like Naruto does since he already has both forms.
