  • This is a new iteration of the QalandarArts Ensemble which brings together many exquisite world flavours of music. This piece, Jarabi made famous by Toumani Diabaté is from West Africa and means 'Beloved'. It was arranged by Mosi Conde on Kora originally from Guinea. This really encapsulates the concept of the QalandarArts Ensemble as it seamlessly celebrates so many traditions of music.
    Imam Hamdani - Guitar: Born and raised in Pakistan, Imam then moved to Boston to study at the Berklee School of music where he graduated as a Blues guitarist. He then went on to the Ali Akbar School of Music in California and currently resides in Valencia, Spain where he is doing his masters with Berklee. An incredible versatile blues and contemporary fusion guitarist.
    Mosi Conde is a Djeli Deni - young griot - from Guinea Conakry’s leading family: Sekouba ‘Diamond Fingers’ Diabate & Mory Kante - with whom he performed at the RFH alongside Baaba Maal at Africa Utopia - are his uncles, Sona Diabate the founder of Les Amazones de Guineé is his aunt & his family are the inspiration for friends like Salif Keita, Alpha Blondy. Mosi Conde performed with and arranged music for globally renowned Ami Koita and Sekouba Bambino at their London Festival concerts.
    Ayoze de Alejandro Lopez - Percussion: Ayoze is a Gran Canaria-born drummer/percussionist based in London who has collaborated with international composers, choreographers, performers and shows like Yelfris Valdes, Jean Pierre Magnet, Maya Youseff, Kadialy Kouyate, The Turbans band amongst many others. He's a true magician with so many tricks up his sleeves delivering a plethora of textures and emotions.
    Kansia Pritchard is an enigma. He's a Musician / Composer / Multi Instrumentalist and Instrument maker specialising in Indian Classical and music of the middle east. From the UK, Kansia has travelled all over the world in his quest to learn and has performed in over 30 countries.
    Junaid Ali - Tabla: From East London Junaid is a rising star of not just the British Asian classical music scene, but the British Music scene in general. He's the student of Ustad Shahbaz Hussain from the UK and has been achieving swift recognition in recent years for all the hard work and devotion he's put into his practice since his early teens.
    Shayaan Saqib - Sarod. A genuine rare breed to have a British born and bred Sarod player. He, like Junaid is a rising star of the classical music scene in the UK and Pakistan and is the student of world renowned Sarod player Arnab Charkraborty. Shayaan along with Junaid are an established duet on the classical music scene in the UK.
