I’m also a senior citizen with children settled abroad. I just don’t have the feelings to stay with them. I want to lead a independent life without serving them, eating what I want, doing I want etc. They are also having so much stress in their life and we should not be a burden to them. We should come out of this typical Indian mentality that children should look after their parents. My suggestion is work hard save money for your old age, look out for some affordable old age home. Anything the children do for you above this consider it as a blessing. And one more thing never under any circumstance transfer your assets in your children’s name when you are alive. Write a will and that’s it.
