My Landcruiser Part 1: The Overview

- Опубликовано: 19 ноя 2018
- Hey guys!
This is the first of many videos to come based around my 1991 Toyota Landcruiser. I paid $10k in Feb 2011 and haven't looked back since. Together we have been to so many places around Australia and still so many more adventures to come!
This video I run through major modifications and accessories I use. Next big mods will be a new cab because of the rust and possibly a jack off canopy setup.
Please comment below any feedback, good or constructive! Also any questions you have :)
Hope you guys enjoy!

How refreshing to find a video of a young girl who knows what she's talking about when it comes to her truck. I'm an old bloke who's been around the traps a few times and I get a bit over all the overly blokey type 4x4 videos where the boys just try to be better than everyone else. I like the fact that you have an older vehicle and understand not only how it works, but also what it takes to make it do what you want it to do. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you thats wonderful feedback to hear:) but yes always learning and love knowing how things work
I could not have put it better, she knows her truck more than a lot of 4x4 owners of the male gender.
I thought the Utes were the Car derived pickup's single cab car front end. But I suppose as it is a utility vehicle it does cover all pickups, here in the UK we don't get the nice stuff and big V8's but I do run a Chevy LUV crewcab basically a Isuzu Rdeo 3.0L automatic chipped and much abused but mostly stock it goes anywhere I take it.@Dave D
I’ve bought a 75 series for my daughter, came searching for mods to do it and found your channel.. now I will say, you’re a tremendous young lady and I hope my daughter turns out similar to you. Your dad must be proud asfuck!
I just learned more about the Landrcruiser in 18minutes than in all the other 4wd channels put together. Officially in love.
Hahah that's awesome!!
Watched your three LC videos; very much enjoyed your point of view concerning maintenance and repairs. Good to see a female that is interested in her vehicle. Looking forward to watching more of your LC videos. I drive a '93 PZJ75 truck.
Great job on the video! I love how you have your rig setup.
Gotta love the 75's such a great truck, had a 75 then a 79 with the 1HZ aftermarket turbo, now currently got a 76 series, keep up the great videos. 👍👍👍👍
Oh nice!! And thank you
Looooooooove!!! Omg you are my absolute inspo ❤️ So much motivation from this vid to get stuck into my own cruiser. Can’t wait to see what’s install next 🤙🏼
Nawh thats so awesome to hear! ❤❤❤
Love the old school rig😊
I once had a 68 ford 2500 4x4 standard cab with a strait 6 300 c.I. And a PTO wench.
I’m so excited to be watching these videos😊
Love the cruiser..!! SOLID.!
It’s so great to see a video of a fourby that’s very capable but is not worth 70k I love it
Thats what I love most about it over 7 years it probably only owes my $25k and 10k of that was purchuse price
I always say I’m gunna get a new hilux but just upgrade it gets me everywhere I need to go
A great intro to you LandCruiser I can see how much joy its brought you, and its still going strong keep up the good vids
Thank you! And yes alot of joy!
Now i know why you folks down there are not buying Jeep Wranglers;it's because you have the best; Toyota Land Cuisers! Man, do i miss my 1980 FJ-40!Greetings from Canada!
Thats exactly it!! Haha fj40s are pretty mad too!
She’s a beauty!! And I like the old cruiser to lol...my first cruiser was the same got it in 2000 and just sold it few months ago...still going strong
Yeah awesome!!
Good on ya. Great truck, smart owner.
Sick rig!! You’ve done a good job building it the way YOU want it, it good to see someone having a go and showing you don’t need a $80k+ ute to get into 4wding, sucks about the rust but aleast you’ve taken the initiative to rectify the issue, keep up the good work and keep the good videos and don’t worry about all the uneducated people who are just hating 😊
Cheers heaps for the support! And yes usually going 4wding there is a high chance of damage so how people take there $80k+ rigs offroad blows my mind haha
great video danie! good to see the rig close up. been interesting to see the future mods.
Thank you and yes plenty of stuff to come
Great to see the ladies getting into the 4B scene!! I have a 99 gu ute and my wife is looking for a series 4 gu wagon.. she loves it !! 👌🤙

Hey Dani,
Awesome video... I have a 96 75 with the same whole on the passenger side haha, loved the info you have on the shocks etc, been a little ashamed of my old girl compared to modern utes etc, but this video has given me motivation to carry on with mine.
Cheers !
Oh thats awesome to hear and hells yeah old is always better ;)
Nothing Wrong with the Oldboy. HZJ75 are a good truck. Mine is a 1991 model. Love your work.

Thank you!
Really enjoying your videos theres a great honesty about them its not scripted which is awesome and your not throwing out "shout outs" to get free gear . Keep up the good work
Cheers BK
Thank you! That was the aim to try and keep it as real as possible
Sadly slot of what i watch (which im slowly turning away from ) is heavily scripted
Landcruiser 4 life baby💪✊
Hells yes!!

Thank you so much love getting feedback!
15:25 ............'other than that, 610,000 klms '..........you've got to love Land Cruiser ! And thanks, you made my day, mine has only 310,000 klms on the same engine as yours.
Yeah awesome!! Treat her well and will still have plenty more kms to come!
its a good truck with character.
Ahhhh. Fresh 4wd drive vids to binge on. Churrr. Sweet truck.
@Dave D is that all you've got To moan about.. I was trying to pay somebody a compliment. Go Back to bed you fuckin grinch.
Great video.
Photos on Instagram don't give justice to the junker quality of things great Cruiser. Good to see that you have only made basic modifications to make the vehicle more suitable to your 4 Wheeling.
Thank you:) appreciate the feedback!
U no heaps about trucks girl you must be a mechanic keep it up
I love your landcruiser 🇦🇺
Me too haha
To stop the low sulphur (new diesel) from eating out injector seals, put some good quality two stroke oil in a 1:200 mix into your fuel. I run it in my 12ht and have noticed a difference. Keep up the great vids :)
I add 2 stroke oil in my LN172 Hilux `98
Hello Danie!, i'm Greg and i live in France ( Basque Country precisely ) and i have a HZJ 75 to. Yours videos are super GENIAL!!! Go on like this! See you...

@@mesahatesayou fitted a roof rack of sixty series place to legs on it at the back then bolted kings roof top tent to it and kings awning as well also running solar panel as well will try and get pics together you hope this helps
@@jamiegreenwood7996 that sounds awesome man. What a legend. I'm goingnto be trying to do the same!!

Great vid Danie , very talented lady wish there were more out there like it
Thank you very much:) love hearing feedback! And there is plenty out there;)
Keep talking like that & males will be obsolete!!
THANK YOU DETAIL VIDEO
SHOW THAT OLD TOYOTA LANDCRUISER KEEP GOING MANY YEARS
Thank you!
Great video. If you get kut snake flares, Ive heard you can fill them with expanding foam prior to installation to make them stronger.
Oh awesome idea Ill suss it out!
I love Toyota Land Cruisers! They give me plenty of recovery practice in my Rubicon! ☺ Just kidding of course. I love the traditional hard core four wheeler and women who drive them even more!
Heck yeah thats awesome :) and cheers!
👌👌👌🎥🖤
You had me @ approach angle
Hahah love it!
Man that trippy start I though I was back in the eighties again, good job.
Hahah thank you!
@@DanieSimpson whats she cruise on with the 315s
@@jasonfranklin9946 from 33s to 35s dropped from around 2600rpm to 2200rpm @100. And fuel economy dropped from 16L/100km to 14L/100km avg
@@DanieSimpson ok mate,thats interesting thanks.
As someone who knows pretty much nothing about cars this was really interesting, it as like you where speaking another language when you pointed out each thing haha. I've been thinking about getting into 4wdin but like I feel that I don't know enough about cars and I'd end up buying some absolute shit box that would cause me more problems then enjoyment out of it. Anyway, great video!
Ill tell you a secret, when I first started 4wding I didn't know anything about cars either! But its crazy how when you have a passion for something it translates eventually into all this knowledge!
Ha, I feel your pain with the no milk 😁. Good vid👍
Such a let down! Haha
What a cool woman, knows her stuff.
That’s how we roll in FNQ
Dont need a flash 4wd.....I just brought one for $2000 drove it from sydney back to Gold Coast, fixed some minor things, now getting it ready to go up to cape york.
Keep up the vids!!
Yeah nice
She's beautiful
The ute is pretty nice to😉
You should do a 4by video of tour local trax
Good idea! There isn't too many unfortunately but a few fun spots
What a fantastic video and an awesome 75! You've done a great job with it! And there's nothing hotter than a woman that knows her way around a vehicle! It's a very rare thing these days. Those 75's are bulletproof, i used to have one. Liked and subbed. Can't wait to see more of your videos! Thanks for sharing Danie! Oh and don't worry about that rust hole in the floor....it's good air con!
Thank you so much for the support means so much! And yeah love the ol 75s!
@@DanieSimpson my pleasure Danie!
Gotta love good old floor rust
Made it so long keeping the floor good haha now an excuse for a new cab haha
@@DanieSimpson sure is an excuse to get a new cab
great video like the dogs colour ...
Cheers he is a blue merle koolie
I like the truck , offroad style safari keep on . I have a toyota 4runner 90' 4x4. Like the rack. I have to put another engine. I have to founded first. Puerto Rico.
Nice ute
I hope you keep doing these videos. You do them well, you have a great attitude. It reminds me of Dangar Marine from the Hawksbury who does all things to do with boats. Useful hints...nice personality...a pleasure to watch.
Such wonderful feed back thank you!
You're welcome. We have a 91 troopy with the usual issues but a good motor and drive train, and a relatively immaculate 94 ute currently presenting us with huge potential for unforgettable adventures in as yet unexplored regions of the transfer case.
We use RUclips for back up, because we really only have half a clue and a workshop manual and if we ever get stuck right up the creek, we are pretty friendly with a local mechanic who does the FNQ work ethic quite well even though he is a cheese maker from Switzerland. We try and make him show us the ropes but by the time we have fetched the refreshments, he has pretty much done half of it and we are none the wiser. The point is, you do the youtube presentation really exceptionally well except you won't kick a spare wheel under the truck just in case. Tie a short rope to it so you can easily retrieve it or whatever, but I didn't like watching you crawling in under like that one little bit.
@@amywas1 yeah nice. If you ever have any questions happy to try answer them:) but you sound pretty set! Tyre doesn't fit under axle and putting it under the chassis will not stop the axle from moving. I did a video on my insta showing I can still sit under the guard if the jack collapsed or fell completely out. Screw type bottle jack failures are probably rarer than stands falling out
@@DanieSimpsonThanks, Danie. Why does the Irishman wear three condoms? To be sure, to be sure, to be sure.
@@amywas1 you don't have a jack stand on the side of the road to change a tyre and most people don't take one offroad. People need to learn to work safely and be self aware when the circumstances aren't perfect otherwise we become complacent and reliant on safety devices to keep us safe
should weld the gusset/plate to the tray then gusset it,triangle back to leg.
Toyota land Cruiser 70 series heavy-duty the best of the best 4×4☝️👍👍👍👍💪💪💪💪💪🎥👍👍👍👍👍👋👋👋👋😁
Agreed!!
Adolf Adolfович ☺️☺️
Nice land cruiser we live in America and drive a 1991 fj80 landcruiser with 314,000 mile on the original 3fe
Thats awesome!!
Nice! I drive a 92 FJ80 with 292k on the 3FE
👍🏼
Very nice rig👍
You don't need the hood insulation, it's for winter and noise deadning.
K&N filters are garbage, open the intake tube and see if you have oil dirt mix, most likely if you have k&n.
Yes you do need the hood liner it dissipates heat. And I've had k&n for years and its been excellent way better than paper filter. Just clean and oil it as recommend and they are great.
How good is the rust in the floor! Loved the video
Haha cheers! yes new cab is going to be prepped soon! So excited!
Nice camera intro..spread that landy
Haha thank you!
the wire does that,it needs to be bent,if possible,as a stop, lots of rp7,or soap helps install.
shes a mean machine sweet
Keep up the vids 👌. How are the tyres going looking at getting some myself.
Yeah love them. Last two posts on insta really bern testing them out haha
Brilliant videos. Please keep them coming. Super informative.
For someone starting off. What would be your top 3 mods to a pick up.
Also if I put bigger than 33" tyres on my pick up will it affect my gears?
Locker. Lift. Tyres. That would be the top 3 but winch and recovery gear too. Depends what your factory wheel size is, going up in size will normally affect your speedo and gearing
@@DanieSimpson holy shit that was a quick response.
It's a bog standard 03 hilux 2.5l with nothing done yet. We don't landcruisers like yours in Ireland unfortunately 😔
I'm a subscriber for life though. Can't wait for the next video 👌
I want to put Kut Snakes on my Colorado. Not sure if it will fit the front with my new TJM brushbars though. I heard they were pretty wide!
Yeah they are pretty wide hey
Nice channel, enjoyed your video a lot! Tilly the Landcruiser (76 Wagon) and I greets from WA
Oh wow love hearing from other aussie 4wders! And thank you for watching!
@@DanieSimpson 👍keep up the good work! Have a look at Tilly on my Instagram @annie.b.rox, if you've got a minute.
@@anniebooo will do!!
Grouse Cruiser you got there.
Have you considered using castor correction wedges on the front axle? And do you find the steering doesn't pull as straight since putting on extended shackles?
I have and will one day to save on tyre wear. Nah hardly noticed it hey
Mint cruiser. I get mine from Toyota this afternoon 🙃😀🙃😀🙃😀
How exciting!!@
@@DanieSimpson yeah ive got a smile from ear to ear
Where abouts did you purchase the pinstripe from
Where did you get the mud flaps
Everytime you get in your beautiful Land cruiser feel for those of us in North America. We never got the wide spread diesel options nor did we get the entire offering of cruisers. Not to mention we never got the newer (newer is relative) Patrols with the beautiful h233b front axle nor any good Nissan diesel options. Dont ask a North American what a "Ute" is...we don't have them :( Iam jealous, absolutely beautiful vehicle you have there.
Nawh thank you but we aussies are jealous of all your big trucks and lifts that you can run over there
surely putting a turbski on it
is that a can of tuna under your speaker!? :) great vid, very casual and enjoyed it a lot. looking forward to more.
Hahah nah its an air freshener. Thank you for the feedback!
@@DanieSimpson yea, looks like good fun videos :) nice tunes and love the poochies too
