    Hi we have a van conversion , we bought a small oil filled radiator which we find excellent in the winter leaving it on all the time .
    It gives a constant temp day and night, highly recommended.

    A comprehensive review Wolfie, enjoyed it. I am looking to trade up from a similar Citroen Relay conversion. The one thing that concerns me is the width of the bed for two adults. Currently we are spoiled with a full width bed, which is great but has to be put away to return to a lounge and table set-up. I'd be interested in your thoughts about the bed width?

    • @WolfiesWheels
      @WolfiesWheels  2 года назад +2

      Thanks for the kind comment. We don’t find the bed width a problem, but neither of us are “impressively nourished” and the bed size would potentially be a problem if we were. The bathroom would also be a bit of a squeeze for the larger framed individual. I guess it’s horses for courses, it might be worth looking at one at a dealers and trying the bed for size?

    As you've increased the GVW to over 3.5t, it can now only be driven by someone with a C1 licence (likewise my Knaus at 3850kg), irrespective of what it actually weighs at the time

    • @WolfiesWheels
      @WolfiesWheels  3 года назад

      You are absolutely right - this particular van needs a C1 now I’ve up plated it. The point I was badly making was that if you don’t have a C1 you can buy one of these vans and use it as it comes at 3500. But if you’ve got a C1 you can up plate to 4,500 without having to change anything physically on the van 👍🏻.

      @@WolfiesWheels Hi. Great video. I have a 2018 AS Fairford which I think has an identical chassis to your Kingham. I am very interested in up plating my van. How easy was this and what is the first step? Thanks

    • @WolfiesWheels
      @WolfiesWheels  3 года назад

      Thanks for the kind comments. I got the dealer to up-plate as part of the deal we struck. However I know they used a company called SV Tech to do the paper exercise, their website is www.svtech.co.uk/ . A few days after we collected the van the paperwork came through which enabled me to complete the DVLA forms and send them off. There are other firms who can do this all for you, however SV Tech do have a good reputation so I would get in touch with them as the first step. Hope this helps!

      also you will be subject to lower speed limits than a 3.5t van

    • @WolfiesWheels
      @WolfiesWheels  3 года назад

      Sorry but you’re wrong. www.gov.uk/speed-limits The underlying weight is unaltered and under 3.05 so in the U.K. it makes no difference.

    Hi - Great review. Interested in changing to one of these van conversions. Does it come with a fly screen on the sliding hab door or do you think there is space to fit one.
    Any other issues or thoughts having hopefully gotten some use out of it over the summer?
    Many thanks.

    • @WolfiesWheels
      @WolfiesWheels  3 года назад +1

      Thanks! There isn’t a fly screen fitted, and wasn’t on the options list. I’d have gone for it if it had been as I think it’s a bit of an omission . Some conversions do have them (WildAx I think) but I don’t know how easy a retrofit would be.
      There’s been a couple of things come to light during our use but nothing that gives me buyers remorse. I’ll be putting a film together in October to cover these things - as well as things that have impressed us.

    Hi Wolfie,
    great video thankyou. Very informative.
    Were hoping to buy one ourselves shortly.
    Was it an easy or difficult paper excercise to change the GVW ?

    • @WolfiesWheels
      @WolfiesWheels  3 года назад

      Thanks for the kind comment. The up-plating was undertaken by S V Tech www.svtech.co.uk and was from my end a very simple exercise. when they send the new certificates and chassis plate through, they also send the forms you need for DVLA and tell you how to fill them in. Can't comment on cost as the up plating was done as part of the purchase negotiations.
      For buying I can recommend the dealer we used, SMC Motorhomes at Newark. Not very local to us (4 hour round trip) but have a good sales and after sales reputation.www.smcmotorhomes.co.uk/. I have no association with them other than as a happy customer.

    If you buy winter blinds it is worth paying the extra, I payed £100 from van comfort up north England, 8 layers of insulation and good suction pads and from Germany, I bought the £50 ones in go outdoors and regretted it.
    Good video is it a euro 6.2 engine and 2.2 mine is with adblue fantastic fuel economy.

    Nice video. Just wondered if you looked at the Murvi vans at all before deciding in this?

    • @WolfiesWheels
      @WolfiesWheels  2 года назад

      Thank you so much for watching the film and the kind feedback. We didn’t really look at the Murvi vans before deciding on the Kingham, principally because we wanted either two long seats which could easily become single beds, or the layout like the Kingham. On the shortlist were IH Motorhomes but ultimately we decided the Kingham layout would be better for our needs. But I do think the build quality of the IH is probably better than the Kingham!

    Hi Wolfe, great review. Now you have had your van for a year, can you tell me whether …..1. the single glaze window has been a condensation issue over the winter…..2. whether the lack of a sliding door fly screen has been an issue and …..3. your thoughts about the level of insulation used in the construction. I’m interested in the Kingham, but these are the 3 concerns I have when considering next to a coachbuilt or even an IH or Vantage alternative. Thanks buddy

    • @WolfiesWheels
      @WolfiesWheels  2 года назад

      Hi Tony. Firstly thank you very much for watching the film, taking the trouble to post your kind comment. I will be doing another film shortly looking back on what I’ve learned over the year, but ahead of that and to give you an answer I’d say as follows: 1) I had reservations about the single glazed windows but in reality they have been fine. However we tend not to use the van between early November and mid March so apart from a couple of really cold nights we don’t have that much experience of winter performance. To be honest, if you want a van you can use all year round/take skiing then this is not for you. The insulation of the water tanks and pipes is inadequate and you’d need to be looking at a double floored Motorhome with inboard tanks etc. 2) the lack of flyscreen hasn’t been a problem at all, I thought the dogs would try to escape but they are too lazy. I put up a bit of wooden garden trellis instead (shown in another film) and that works fine for us. Your point 3) has already been alluded to. For our use, the level of insulation is fine, the athermic glass definitely keeps the warm out in the summer and warm in on colder days. The wall insulation is good too, to the extent that I’ve never noticed any issues with it, it just kind of works. The heating system is however pretty poor, if you sit in the cab area on the swivel seats at night the area is definitely cold. Primarily down to poor design rather than poor insulation. I’ll cover all these points in the next couple of films (which I plan to make and release by mid July) but hope that the above is of some help to you. Good luck with your deliberations

      Interesting - according to the invoice it’s 2.2 litres, so that what I went from. Internet is confusing as some sites say it’s 2.2 and others 2. So I’ll stand by the invoice for my one and agree that others might be different. 👍🏻
