    On the right, around the 18:30 mark was the Alumatta SG crossing loop. The overhead pedestrian bridges in Wangaratta station are to be demolished for the Inland Rail (double decker container trains).A persestrian subway will replace both these bridges.The "east line" will be removed and replaced by a west line opposite the current platform.There will also be another passenger built.

      Correct, Alumatta loop is now long gone. The changes at Wangaratta will certainly make the place look different. 👍😊

    Thankyou for driving me to many places of Victoria. I live in SA. Not much of a rail system here.

    Would have been nice to see an outside shot of the train so we know what it looks like.

      If you have a look in the community tab, you will see a picture of the vlocity sitting in the yard at Albury in the early morning with headlights on. It is the same train that this was taken in. 👍😊

    These little journeys have taken me 2 hours and 40 minutes into Terry Pratchett’s book, Equal Rites (audio version). With another 5 hours to go, I wonder how far we could get into NSW if you just kept driving? I assume VicRail would be rather upset if you did.😅

      Hmmmm, I might just finish the run at Albury so they will let me drive again tomorrow. 🤣🤣👍😄

    Is the original SG line still in the cutting at Wangaratta station? You sailed easily up the Glenrowan bank, a great photo spot. Your ride in the Vlocity cab is much smoother than back in the train!

    • @driver667

      The line is still in the cutting at Wangaratta. The camera smooths out the bumps in the video but also the track is much better these days. Glad you enjoyed the video 👍 😊

    Just curious if you know but will Miki cards run on Warrnambool line anytime soon? They have the base of it on the station but not the device

      @BennyBlack1 Год назад

      myki readers beyond bendigo, geelong, tralagon, seymour, ballarat have been there for a long time, so i doubt they will get them installed outside those five places

      As a driver, I don't have anything to do with the ticketing but I believe a new contract for ticketing is being let. Maybe Miki will cease to exist?? Time will tell. 👍😊

    Is the LS precast siding 2:59 for Qube steel & concrete contract?

    • @driver667
      @driver667  Год назад +1

      I think the precast sections they make are used in the new metro tunnel but I am not across everything they are up to or any upcoming contracts. The siding has not been used since it was constructed. 👍😊

      @@driver667 I believe that is because the sections were out of gauge for rail;

    • @driver667
      @driver667  Год назад

      @@archmcdonald6170 I have heard a number of reasons with that being one of them. I'm not sure which reason is correct but I know the siding does not get used unfortunately 😕

    Awesome. Seemed a very smooth ride. What upgrade would be required to have you travel at 160kph?

    • @driver667
      @driver667  Год назад +2

      Many changes to line side equipment including safety equipment that interacts with the train are required for 160kph. It would be a sizeable investment to allow the higher speed. Deciding if it is worth the investment for the extra 30kph is something the people higher than me would have to work out or if there are other projects that are more worthy of the money. 👍😊
