    Again another great video, can member a siding on your right at Malvern and another one and your left at Toorak. I learnt at a young age that the Caufield to Richmond spelt :MATHS". Again a great series.

      Those sidings are long gone now. Glad you enjoyed the video 👍😊

    Well done, would love to see a full video from start to finish if you have time to edit them all together.

      I put them up in sections as most people I talk to seem to like shorter videos to watch. I know my own preference also is for shorter videos with end screens I can click on to go to the follow on video. Glad you enjoyed the videos 👍😊

    When did they remove the crossovers at Caulfield between the Dandenong and Frankston mains and wondering why they did so? A great deal of flexibility has been lost.

    • @driver667
      @driver667  Год назад +3

      Yes, we are all disappointed at the loss of flexibility. They were removed at the start of this year to make the new signalling for the high capacity suburban trains easier. 🤔👍

      Agreed. Spending money to downgrade is usually shortsighted but that's government for you.

    Thanks for sharing .Great video. between Caufield and South Yarra most of our signals were "home " signals whilst the other line has "automatic" signals. I understand that home signals are needed for points but why all the other home signals instead of automatics?

    • @driver667
      @driver667  Год назад +1

      That's the standard now. Home signals cannot be passed without permission from the signaller in charge unlike automatic signals. Less chance of an accident. 👍😊

      I have done Sunbury, Williamstown and the racecourse line so far. You can find them in the suburban playlist. I have plans for more 👍😊

    Thank you 667 I’ve been with you to Bairnsdale & back. 😊
    Just out of curiosity, did you do the whole trip or did you have a relief driver along the way?
    Long trip, Is your day now done?

      I run the trip complete in one direction after some work at the start then run it back the next day 👍😊

    Why at 17:40 do the tracks have another rail in the middle?

    • @driver667
      @driver667  Год назад +3

      Protection just in case of a derailment. It would keep the train on the bridge 👍😊

      @@driver667 Interesting tat the viaduct only has one rail but the sky rails have 2 rails

      Lots of training is required to be a train driver. There are lots of things to learn 🙂👍
