Another great video Dan - one after another - really resonates with me - finally watching Teacher Richard's videos on a daily basis based on your videos recommending massive input whether you get it all or not.. (have been a supporter of his for sometime however... which is how I found you as a matter of fact LOL 😶 )

I live close to a few Chinese grocery stores and restaurants. A Chinese community. Whenever I try to speak Chinese with someone it's almost like they are mad at me. It's a little discouraging.

    1.: Stop speaking English
(Doing this, your brain needs to adapt quicker. It is important to only focus on one single language 24/7 to make your target language your new "operating system". Only possible by moving to another country or creating a learning environment that is as immersive as possible.)
    2.: Use the right material
(Focus on having a lot of input, preferably highly comprehensible (70-95%). Even if you don't understand the input, it makes you getting used to sounds, patterns, etc. just like a baby learning its first language, listening is the most important input.)
    3.: Real world interaction
(Apply what you have learned to the world around you. Acquisition is not a linear process, language learning should be interactive. Talk to real people as much as possible.)
