- so with the purchase of my 2015 Toyota Prius i decided to give Uber a try. when signing up they send you this pretty box... heres a look at whats inside, and a tip for what to do with the iPhone they send you.
über tries to pull a fast one on its drivers by signing them up for a plan with an old iPhone 4 for 10$ a week. thats 540 a year plus a deposit. send the phone back right away or they will charge you.

Yeah, I got the same thing. It's a loaner phone I requested because I had no service provider at the time I got signed up. You get charged the data and a $250 deposit which is refunded when you turn the phone back in.
A $250 deposit for a $30 phone. Right.
Be much better off buying one out right on ebay for a few bucks.

The biggest scam about this is the restrictions installed on the device.
When I drove Uber, I too received the random box a couple weeks after I started. And I used the phone for a while at first. I only did because, for whatever reason, I wasn't being charged the weekly data fee for several months.
Eventually though, the deduction from my weekly earnings (-$15) started showing up on my account. I cancelled the phone soon after- and here's why.
They install software on the device that heavily restricts its functionality. It isn't so much an iPhone as it is an "Uber machine". The device cannot make or receive calls or texts. The only website it will load is Uber's (even if you connect to wifi) and you can't install any apps, if for example you want Waze for navigation (it comes with the standard iPhone built in apps, plus the Uber driver app). $15/week, or $60 isn't an unreasonable amount to pay for a cell phone plan. But if I'm going to pay that much for a second phone, I expect to be able to use that phone. If I need to call a rider, I'd like to be able to do it from the same device, not have to pull out my personal phone. I'd like to be able to install my preferred nav apps, install the uber rider app (to check on the locations of other drivers to best position myself). I'd like to have internet access while sitting waiting for a trip. When I wasn't paying for it, I couldn't really complain, but $60/mo for a one-trick pony is just ridiculous.

For me it looks like the nail got cut into from the side. I had this on my hand when my ill cat bit my thumb while I was trying to calm him down.
It's too white for it to be fungus and the other nails all look fine. Even the tip and the nail bed of the same toe nail looks fine.
Even if it is toenail fungus - it is very common. About 75% of the population above 60 have it. The rest is still at 20% and somehow people are ashamed of it (and you're making it worse). It's a thing that clings onto you and not easy to get rid of.
I don't have it, but that doesn't mean that I won't get it. The same goes for you.

I had the same experience, they sent me a phone before without even me asking for it. I tried to turn it on, and it never worked. I never sent it back. Sold it for an eight of weed.

i think this is an incredible deal and great incentive for people who are financially hurting to start driving. no contract, refundable deposit, AND its only ~$40 a month?! sounds like a win win for someone who may not have the financial means immediately to start driving. go to any retail phone store and you're going to pay at least 80-100 a month plus youre locked in a contract and youll pay upfront for the phone or another $25-50 a month for a phone.

Uber advertises a 20-25% commission taken from its drivers, but we found that that number is actually a lot higher. On minimum fare rides, it can be as much as 50% commission when you take into account the safe ride/booking fee.
When I first started the minimum ride was 4$ plus 1$ was a “safe rider fee” Uber claimed it used this to cover background checks but that was a lie. 1$ safe rider fee + Uber commission. I would get like 2.35$ from a 4$ Ride back in the day

Depending on how they say you approved the delivery you potentially don't legally need to return or pay for it. If you didn't ask for it, you probably did hidden in a terms of service checkbox, then it's considered a free gift by law.

If you said you'll use your own phone for driving and they gave you the Sticker than I don't think they'll send you a box cuz you have everything you need. I hope you have fun driving in Atlanta! Yesterday I went to the Uber office and picked up an Uber sticker for the windshield and carry bag for my Uber eats jobs. I asked them about those packages that you got and was told they don't give them out anymore.

I drive a 2015 prius c . its the most fuel efficient non plugin hybrid that prius makes . I average about 56-65 mpg city. the only complaint about the prius C I can say is that its compact and doesn't have a ton of room for larger passengers. I prefer compact vehicles personally though.

You guys complaint alot. Uber from america is way better when it comes to pay you, not to mention that you guys are not obliged to have a small business company like me. I am currently paying 3 cars, i am offering jobs to 4 people on which they have to make 8 hour shifts and guess what, here in portugal the payment per km is so low, it is about 0.65 cent/km. Our diesel is so fucking expensive ( 1.22 €/ liter) and what we make per week (all of the drivers plus me) goes between 1.300 to 2.000 euros. It sucks because compared to america you guys dont have these problems.

Uber as a rider in KL is amazing. 10 minute rides for like barely over a dollar. Amazing city to visit, recommend it!
