    In Canada they don't take taxes from you if you make under 30,000, so you can pocket 575 avg a week un-taxed technically and you can also report expenses. Been working Uber for 2 years.

    • @RideshareDaily
      @RideshareDaily  5 лет назад +1

      Thank u for sharing. However, I will say this... if all u did was 50 rides total... u didnt drive enough to even get an idea of whats what or to learn HOW TO win on the road. Anything less than 300 rides is not even trying or testing it out (in my opinion). 50 rides is more like someone watching 2 mins of a basketball game on TV and deciding they don't like basketball. It's closer to 0 rides than 'expert status' for sure. With that being said... you've already moved on, so hope u find what works for u. Rideshare is not for everybody. Nonetheless, thanks for sharing ur tiny test sample of results with us.

    I live in San Antonio and in 13 hours of work I made $400. Made my truck payment in a single day.. I paid $50 in gas to fill up and I'm driving a 07 Ram 1500 quad cab Flex Fuel 4.7v8 not to shabby if you ask me.. My rating of 4.84 out of 5 and I get tipped usually 75%-50% anytime I drive.. This is the easiest way to make good money in my opinion. I didn't come close to that working for Chase in the 6 yrs I worked there. If your interested in driving for Uber do it. Don't let someone else make a decision for you..

  • @DuderGaming

    Wow - $28.85 an hour! Very impressive. Now deduct the costs of gas, wear and tear on your car. After you are done with that take into account that there are no benefits - so you can deduct your monthly cost of Health Insurance, Dental, Eye, and Life insurances. Sorry about not having an HSA or a 401k where Uber matches you non-taxed income.
    You're really making like 13 a hour here. And that's on a good day with good surge prices. The cool thing about Uber is you can work as much as you want whenever you want. I'm not hating either - good for you for being happy and doing what you want to do. PS: I always tip my Uber drivers $5 or $10 bucks, appreciate the service.

      Sup. So I do uber full time. Clock in 30-40 hours a week. 45 if I want more. I make between $800-$1200 a week. spend $30 a day on gas. Vehicle maintenance every other much, typically just a oil change is needed.
      So on a slow week I bring about 600$ profit, on a good week I make about $1,000 profit. ( I don't live in a major city)

  • @joseoneway5065

    i see people asking or worried about car maintenance . let me tell u guys i do drive my lawn care truck every day pulling my 12 foot long trailler and the only money i do have to spend is oil change aligment every 6 month and some brake pads thats maybe 500 every 6 months to me is nothing . because i get the money back from my bussines i think uber drivers are spending less in maintenance because they are not caring heavy loads . stop been negative . please excuse my bad typing

    • @gnc907
      @gnc907 6 лет назад +3

      one way lawn service people act like they buy car just to have it sit in their driveway hahah. Car are meant to be driven. Car lose value regardless if is driven or not. They are driving the car around for their job and personal trip anyway. Yes I agree after everything is added up it might not pay as well as some job but not having a supervisor breathing down my neck is worth it ah

    • @AJourneyOfYourSoul
      @AJourneyOfYourSoul 5 лет назад

      You have to pay for the vehicle itself too. Cars only last so long. Every single mile has an amount attached to it. Once you drive that mile, it is gone for good. Every mile you drive ubering, is a mile you can't use for personal use. This is basically called depreciation and is usually the largest expense depending on the vehicle. You have depreciation, gas, maintenance and the extra half of your payroll taxes (medicare and SS) that you have to pay since you are a contractor. Figure all that out and you can then get a much more accurate number compared to working those same hours as a W2 employee.

    • @marcusaponte1287
      @marcusaponte1287 5 лет назад

      Your lawn service is making more than
      .80 a mile and .10 a min some times more in some cities and depending on surge.
      A descent day driving for Uber will put about 100 miles a day and more. Plus other expenses.
      Let’s find out if your analogy adds up?
      How many miles do you drive in your lawn service? Do you keep the air on for passengers and while your waiting for the next job? Are you driving over 159 miles a day??? If so that’s about 3000 miles a month. That means your changing your oil every 45 days.
      Comparing apples to oranges isn’t a fair comparison.

    The MINUTE you turn your UBER app on, if you're using a mile tracker app like MileIQ, you're on the clock, so EVERY mile you drive is tax deductible! Uber ONLY records the miles AFTER you pick up a passenger, so the UBER driver must track their TO location miles to get credit for them. First year, I used paper and ink to record my TO location miles , my second year I paid $4.95 a month for the MileIQ app. This app is IRS approved and TRACKS EVERY mile you drive from the time you turn on the UBER app.

    Being able to work whatever hours you want is true but you actually need to know the prime time hours in your area and work those hours to get the maximum pay out as a driver. There are high volume times and low volume times throughout the day and knowing that market is the key to maximizing your pay day work week. Congrats to you my friend. Peace.

    This amount you forget to deduct gas, insurance, lunch, miles of depreciation of you vehicle, tires, oil change.......etc! balances $15 in your packet, this is why Uber value of $50.000.000.000.00 (billion dollars) because you.

    • @godfatherNYC
      @godfatherNYC 7 лет назад +31

      Actually most of those expenses are deductible from your Income Taxes. You can itemize OR deduct approximately $0.54 PER MILE driven. It actually works out great at Tax time if you have a good CPA or know what you're doing.

    • @Sayno86
      @Sayno86 7 лет назад +20

      Deducting it doesn't make it free, it simply makes it tax free, which depending on your income level only saves you 15-25% on the purchase of said items. So.... call it $20 in pocket then for 3 hours of work.

    A lot of people tend to forget that you can sort of "choose" the type of people you drive. Go hang out in neighborhoods for regular folk, go hang out the district for the bar patrons, go downtown around them tall buildings to get business folk. Hell go hang around the airport for people who tend to want the regular routes to hotels/malls etc. It's a balancing act of personal comfort vs profit, but you can influence it. In my honest opinion Uber is most worthwhile working part time during specific times and places to take advantage of surges and easy locations. Bit of strategy to getting the most out of the least work!

    I would say these results are possible but rare. It all depends where you would be driving. Most cities now are over saturated with drivers to where surge is rare. You can wait over an hour for a request to come in. This guy will make money from you applying through the link so take that into consideration that he's going to show you ONE good day. In my city , drivers report that they average about 10-15hr. GROSS and some days it's even less.

    • @RideshareDaily
      @RideshareDaily  6 лет назад

      Ok. Let's talk facts. Rare? How do u know? Do u know what other drivers earn? No, not really. Then you say "most cities are now over saturated with drivers," and again... how do you know? Have u driven in most cities? No, not really. You're just pulling that out of thin air. Surge too. Next, you're right... "you can wait over an hour for a request to come in," if you want to that is. Who does that!? Not me. I drive to where people are requesting rides. I don't sit around ANYwhere for an hour twiddling my thumbs in no man's land. Thank you for informing my viewers AGAIN about the awesome referral rewards programs rideshare companies offer. Most of my viewers already know. It's common knowledge that they reward both new drivers and existing drivers to get started in rideshare. That's awesome. No secrets there. Just bonu$ money for newbies and drivers like me. I have a whole series #RideshareDaily and show many days of earnings; not just ONE good day (actually 2.5hrs... I wouldn't call that a day). In your city, who do those drivers report average earnings to? Just wondering... more fake facts... cause in my city nobody reports anything to anyone, and neither do any of my many drivers around the country in other cities. Your city must be weird. Reporting avg gross income to Countrified Jose... #interesting #fakenewsinmycomments

    • @countrifiedjose7537
      @countrifiedjose7537 6 лет назад

      Elliot Potter If people want to become an Uber driver then they should do some hard research into if they can make money. I'm reporting "out of thing air"? Go check out the Uber people forums and check out what drivers REALLY make and also my own experience. Pay rate(mileage and time) is 3-4 times less than what a taxi driver makes, so don't BS people. I pass up a ton of Uber drivers before I see a taxi driver. Guess what? Driving around looking for a rider cost money. Full timers have to drive at least 60 hours to make a living and their (new)cars will be trash after 3 years. It's about luck and experience. A noobie won't have the experience. Don't trust this guy and others like him. Go do some research on the driver's point of view. Besides one that throws a referral code at you.

    • @RideshareDaily
      @RideshareDaily  6 лет назад

      Hahahaha +Countrified Jose u have no idea what ur talking about. Driver forums... thats uh... really 1990s. Thats kinda like visiting chat rooms from AOL dial-up back in 95'. Real drivers like me dont waste time in forums cuz we're busy doin busine$$. Have fun on the forums! 3-4 times less, 60 hrs, 3 yrs... AGAIN pulling imaginary numbers outta nowhere. #BestOfLuck #DialTone #YouveGotMail

      I noticed that DFW area needs lot of uber driver. People could make $100 dollars just 5 hours in the morning. Especially during hail storm time, you will have endless trip from certain area to downtown Dallas, most likely Plano, Frisco, etc. Its at least 25 dollars and 30-40mins drive to Downtown Dallas, plus the tips, you'll make somehwere around 15-20 in an hour.

      Not really. As independent contractors gas, miles driven, the phone he is using, vehicle maintenance, anything he spends for work being tax deductible means he gets money back in his tax return and maintenance which is maybe $350-$500 tops every 6 months he is still making decent money. You're throwing that argument in without actually knowing what you're talking about.
