What the hell? I was JUST thinking about this game earlier this week! Haven't touched it in years. Looking forward to seeing it come out, please keep us updated!
it will be an overall game rank/level, but there will be class specific unlocks (such as primary weapons / cosmetics) and it wont rely on official servers
Gun recoil is overexaggerated IMHO. Upwards kick is a bit too much while the backwards kick (into the shoulder) is non-existent. But since this is an alpha f2p prototype- you are free to so whatever you want.
Man this looks really good, recoil looks a little much and the health and armor bar are a little off (my opinions, with the health and armor maybe have it be a little guy like in Gemini: Binary Conflict), but that doesn't detract from the game at all. Can't wait for Linux support. What game engine is it? Source or something else?
I mean the animation, irl guns recoil more back at you and with professionals they can control recoil even better. With the FAL it makes a little more sense because it is .308 but the shotgun is way to much upward. I get the reason why they made the recoil that much, that being for balancing the automatic gun play by obstucting your view a little. However with IRL gun design you want to mitigate that as much as possible for example the ak series of guns gets a special made muzzle break to reduce muzzle rise from recoil.
its being developed in UE5 (as source is now very dated)... the current plan is for linux support via proton, I can confirm its already running decently well on a steam deck (at medium settings)
@@mr.cogwheel To clarify, I'm one of the developers and I animated the weapons. The recoil was indeed designed around gameplay feel and balancing instead of realism; I do plan on reanimating a few of them though. The Galil especially I'm not 100% happy with
@@xweert711 Thanks for the clarification! I thought that was it since yalls had some experience with FPS games, and as I said having game balance first is not bad (zombies are not very realistic anyways). I would rather play a well balanced, bug free game instead of one with loads of bugs.
I thought this was a more mature themed take in Zombie survival games. the first codename cure was amazing. however this is not a codename cure game. its a mix or Fortnite and Left 4 Dead 2 . We need more raw and disturbing type of zombie games. Games where you have to pay the price for getting eaten alive if you make mistakes. Like Into the dead or Road of the dead. We need more weapons with higher and stronger sounds. as if you firing a real gun. We need darker levels and fewer lights we need limited but high damage ammo. Where we must think where to fight and where to run. We need more gore We need to see people getting eaten alive getting mutated or torn limb by limb just to terrorize us. I cant feel like i am surviving in this Fortnite Setting. We need more dark and hard music. like Metal. I hope you will take notice.
... Are you sure that Codename CURE 1 was even what you described? CURE 1 uses default HL2 graphics and gamebanana skins for weapons, and everything in Codename CURE 2 so far is just things from CURE 1 that are remade from scratch so that the graphics are consistent. Besides that, this is a 2 minute snippet of an extremely early build of Codename CURE 2 that is showing off high-intensity combat situations, and even in the gameplay alone this footage is far darker than any CURE 1 map, with lights and the environment being destroyed by crossfire making the map even darker. CURE 2 also has gore, whereas CURE 1 doesn't. So it's weird to list gore as a criticism when CURE 2 clearly does have more gore than CURE 1 does even in this extremely unfinished state. There's just not enough footage to be able to tell if the things you're criticizing the game for are actually problems with the game, especially when the things you're describing weren't even a part of CURE 1 either lol

First no more room in hell 2, now codename cure 2? Wild!
For an alpha this looks really good.
I remember playing the first one a lot as a kid, very happy to see this!
Hell yeah, I'm hyped! I had A LOT of hours invested in Codename Cure 1
Wow for early gameplay this looks amazing cant wait to see the finished game
we all random people that came across this game, are gathered to see the sequel for the game. hope we can met in the lobby!
the few tracks from the first game were phenomenal
That... Is... Beautiful... :')
Yyayaaaaayyhy no more bullet delay
WOW. I hope it gets popular again like in 2017
Let's go!!!
Okay looks pretty good, though i'd like the gun recoil to shakes along with the camera and with a much weaker punch.
Круто, надеюсь в релизе будет вторая часть сделано хорошо
When will it be released?
is it going to be killing floor like with class leveling where you permanently upgrade your character on official servers?
it will be an overall game rank/level, but there will be class specific unlocks (such as primary weapons / cosmetics) and it wont rely on official servers
Looks better then nmrih2

We've updated and improved the recoil across all guns now :)

when you say recoil, do you mean in the animations or the camera shake?
