Activate Windows 10 with Windows 7 keys in 2022... You still can!

- People ask me if the Windows 7 keys still activate a Windows 10 OS installation in 2022. I wasn't sure if it still worked so I tried. Officially they say that you can use a windows 7/8/8.1 key that they stated in an update later on but if you didn't research it you would never think that was the case. So are they lying? Okay, no. I'm being a little dramatic, but if you don't do your research you probably would go buy a windows 10 key because you would think that made perfect sense.

I need to do a clean install from W7 to W10 now that Chrome no longer supports W7. I would have done sooner, but the W10 update process kept telling me there wasnt enough space on my 60gb SSD drive. Maybe because it had W7 still installed on it? I don't know, I do have a second sata drive that is 500gb that I can use originally intended just as extra storage. But thanks for the update video.👍
Yes, its working with windows 11 as of the date i post this comment, I use an Windows 7 pro key!

Doesn't work Win 7 Pro Dell COA (sticker) key attempting to install/activate Windows 10 Pro 22H2. Attempting to add (slmgr /ipk) legit COA key gives "Sorry, this key cannot be used to activate."

EDIT: IT WORKED! YOU HAVE TO CLEAN INSTALL USING USB AND ENTER THE WINDOWS 7 KEY WHEN IT ASKS FOR IT ON THE SETUP
it's august 12 2022, my hp mini 210-1000 was running windows 10 pro (original installed os was windows 7 starter) but it says it was not activated and i try to activate it using the product key it has on the bottom of the laptop, it says "The product key you entered didn't work. Check the product key and try again, or enter a different one. (0xc004f050)" some people say it will change the windows 10 edition that is compatible with the product key but mine does not do that and some people says i have to install windows 10 home for it to work...it will make the process much longer if i do that since its very slow and laggy. any ideas? or this is the only way to make the product key working again?

Well i had Windows 7 Pro OE and entered my key at clean installation, so i got automatically Windows 10 Pro installed. Code does not work for activation

I have a 10-year-old laptop that came with Windows 7. Currently running on Windows 10. I need to buy a new laptop but it comes with windows 11 home. Can I upgrade to pro with the old laptop key?

I don't know. Hope somebody else can help you out with that. As I always say with Windows keys, it doesn't hurt to try.

You see I am planning to install a ssd and move hdd to caddy then install win 10 pro in ssd so was wondering if my old key will work or not

Just make sure the versions are the same. Technically yes that should work. The seven keys are generally less expensive but oddly not by a lot.

2023 07.22 still working. Well i use my super old Windows 7 x86(32bit version) and it working fine i wa snagry cause long time ago i upgrade win7 x64 to win 10 and after 6 years i change my PC and the key i bought and thne upgrade to win 10 stopped working.
what about win 7 ultimate? it doesn't have ultimate version on win 10?
I'm sure it should work the same.

sadly no, there is no ultimate version for windows 10,and then of course I can't use my win 7 ulti code, I've tried it after i wrote the comment

I don’t think it is since you need to pay to get a windows 10 key also activating windows 10 with windows 7 keys doesent work anymore since microsoft took action just reminding you but if you did activate windows 10 with windows 7 keys before that happen then i don’t think you will get into trouble
