If any of you are even remotely considering the purchase of a new oven with AquaLift Self Clean Technology THINK AGAIN. It is standard now on several brands (mine is Kitchenaid) and the dealer will tell you that it is the new revolutionary way to go for oven cleaning - they say it uses water and steams the stuff right off in less than an hour - no harmful chemicals, smells or high heat to raise your electric bill, better for the environment and your family, yada yada yada. It says right on the controls "AquaLift Self Clean" - sounded good, but I became suspicious when they included a "Cleaning Kit" that consisted of a sponge with a scrubber on top and a plastic SCRAPER - then I started reading the instructions and just knew it wasn't going to work - doesn't take a genius to figure out that 200 degree temps heating a pool of water in the bottom of your stove isn't going to clean off any baked on grease. Also, you need to take out the racks before running it, and clean them with good old elbow grease. The insides of the oven are supposedly coated with something special so you can not, under any circumstances, use any chemical to clean or you will damage the finish and void the warranty.
I cooked 2 messy meals in the oven - both splattery - bacon wrapped pork chops, then finished with the broiler, and a prime rib roast that was started at 500 degrees - both left quite a bit of splatter on the insides of the oven, and there was some black on the very bottom where I spilled something.
Time to try out the AquaLift "Self Clean" feature. First took out the racks which were spotted with grease, some burnt on from the first use. Hubby cleaned those because I didn't want to tackle them. I then poured filtered water into the bottom of the oven per instructions, pushed the "self clean" display, then start. There is little to no steam as it only heats to 200 - How do you get steam when the water isn't even at the boiling point? 40 minutes later it was done. Then the REAL work began. First sop up the water in the bottom of the stove with the sponge that was included for that purpose in the "cleaning kit" - then use the plastic scraper to scrape the stuff spilled on the bottom of the stove that didn't come up - that did't work either, so I had to use a plastic scrubber to scrape it off. The sides and top of the stove were still grease splattered (of course) and I had to scrub all of if down with my plastic scrubber and some non chemical cleaner. Worse than having a non self clean oven that I could spray with oven cleaner and then wipe out. Also note, this is a stove that is a floor model - not a wall oven, so my 72 year old arthritic body was on my knees cleaning it for over an hour!!!!
Bottom line, don't buy a stove that uses the AquaLift "technology" as they like to call it.

The water oven cleaning feature does not work on my Maytag range. It’s very disappointing.
