Zenith takes the cake
I think the IWC just had such a classic design. The zenith looks edgier and newer, but not as refined through the years of development.

Zenith out of these two. Love the new Pilot Flyback Chorono with Big Date. Extra attention was paid to how the chronograph pushers and crown feels in operation which I love.

Zenith seems more edgy and famed for the Chronos, but design wise, it's IWC for me. IWC chronos are a master class for dial design, considering legibility and consistency.

The Zenith is so much cleaner and crisp in my opinion. That would be my first choice. I like that the date is in the bottom center. If there is a date that is a better execution. The IWC appears to be cluttered on the dial too much for my taste.

the zenith horizontal lines on the dial are not very pilot friendly. iwc design is pure and clean. much cooler movement on the flyback chrono.

He should have compared the zenith with the iwc pilots double chronograph top gun instead. Price wise and functions are similar.

If it’s for chrono I’ll choose iwc for 12 hour chrono function. But if I’m happy with 30 mins then that fly back and big date is a plus. Personally chrono should do 12 hrs .

Zenith for me any day, though in steel. I’m not a fan of 6,9,12 layouts to begin with and then the day date only adds to the clutter. There are chronos with calendars and 3,6,9 layouts that I’d consider. The Top Gun logo is cheesy though easily ignored and forgotten.

What would be the lug to lug of the watches?
I'm new to watches. When the short started, looking at the watches I assumed they would be in the 200-300 price range. Can someone please explain to me why they're over 10k?
Mostly for Movement and complications, they are automatically watches and don't need batteries so they get really expensive. Quartz watches run on batteries so they are cheap, may be you expected them to be quartz watches.
the reason is income inequality. so much money out there, enough people will pay $10-50k for luxury goods to make this a business. profits to swiss watch companies are massive.
The ICW's dial looks cleaner.

In this scenario I’d go Zenith
Chronographs are anachronisms. Get a really well made & nicely finished threehander instead and for those very rare occasions you really have to time something. Just use your phone.
It’s jewelry and 👁️ candy. And great mechanics. It has nothing to do with telling the time/timing. Burn-Out beats a Apple phone every day as you already have you disposable phone
@@zegervanaschvanwijck7749 I've been into watches since the early '90 and I'm a also a WOSTEP certified watchmaker since 2004 so it's just offering a bit of advice. But to be fair my first two Swiss mechanicals were chronographs too so I guess it's a phase we all need to go through.

If you know Horology, Zenith El Primero Movement is heads and shoulders above IWC mechanical offerings. This comparison is not fair, except; if the intent is to attract customers to your store?
You get a better & different movement from Zenith and hence the price gap reflects that, but some people want the look of black ceramic on a Pilot watch & don’t want to pay extra $$$$ for the movement. Which is a fair trade off & comparison. It’s up to whoever purchases to make that decision. 🤷🏻♂️ unless you don’t speak to customers regularly so you don’t hear this question?
