No, that's the trim tag, not the VIN number. This is a 1959 Oldsmobile Super 88 Holiday sedan. We got the tag, we can brag: 59 for 1959 model year, 3539 for Super 88 (35) Holiday sedan (39), BC for Southgate, CA assembly, 336 should be for a Turquoise interior trim, CNC for Polaris Mist White lower paint, N for Burgundy Mist upper exterior paint and C for Polar White wheels. Accessory code of K-1 and C-3 could be for a padded dash, cruise control, or air conditioning. The Southgate, CA plant closed in 1982. No VIN, can't win, but easy to figure out, no doubt: 59 for 1959 model year, 8 for Super 88, C for Southgate, CA assembly and the rest is the production sequence.
Sixty years ago, I loved camping in the desert in southern California. Borrego Springs State Park was freezing cold at dawn, but it would be warm by midmorning. I once saw a morning rain shower there and then, over the next few hours, watched the desert floor bloom. From there, it was then up the long trails into the rocky canyons & dry, eastern side of the coastal mountain range. About a mile and a half up the trail was the Oasis. Yup, palm trees, pools of fresh, clear springwater safe to drink. All of a quarter acre. There were 7 more of these if you had the time, strength and inclination to continue ever higher up the mountain. The stars at night there back then before everyone had yard lights etc? The Milky Way was not somehing barely perceivible but a distinctly huge spiral spinning in space.
I just got back from a trip today where I went down on old road that had been closed off. I found a fifth wheel camping trailer that had been abandoned since 2007 when I went inside it, there were cobwebs everywhere and there was at least an inch thick of dust on everything it was so weird seeing things that I saw when I was seven years old at the age of 24 I actually found out that the piece of land the trailer sitting on for is worth about $23,000 yet it’s a very large property and I’m thinking about buying it. It’s surrounded by land owned by the United States so no nosy neighbors and it’s about an hour and 20 minutes drive from my house.
Ah, an old flat-top Oldsmobile. That one is really living up to it's name "flat-top"! LOL. Super sweet ride, they are great looking cars! I'd love to have one someday. Very cool stuff, man. Stay cool, and stay safe, bro.
Another GREAT 👍 one!! We get to see another collection of crashed cars 🚗!! Just be VERY CAREFUL, NOT to fall into the mine. OPEN MINES ARE VERY DANGEROUS!! Somebody should have closed this mine, since it appears to be disused. It's actually safer, descending to your Oldsmobile. I think this Oldsmobile still has the engine. I'm anxious to see what's inside the trunk. Your friend, Jeff.
As an FYI. There are artisan panel beaters in Brazil and Argentina who could straighten that mangled shell to perfection so completely and accurately, even an expert wouldn't know.
the state of Arizona made it mandatory after 1978 that cars be pulled after any crashes. A lot of states got federal grants for the army core of engineers in the late 90's to pull out unwanted cars and cut them up and take them away it was a pretty big undertaking back than I remember in oregon they pulled 20 or so cars out of the river as well as 40 out of the desert (eastern or) That car was incredible mario. WOW Lucky Find. That car was and incredible find with all that chrome...My caddie video came out yesterday. I am so so surprised how intact that car is. Great Find
1940's era International KB8 (KB was introduced in 1947-1949) International Harvester , The farming connection: Farming tractors and vehicle and even appliances (A/C to Refrigerators) too.

Ticks far less common in the desert but can be found near vegetation like hot springs. Found your location on googie earth and there is a drone shot where you can see the Olds you found plus one more car north over the next ridge. Looks to be 1/2 a vehicle, maybe the rear end. An awesome area for junkers and parts there because of those sweeping curves in on that road.
That tire has been baked by the sun. It's been there about 45 years. Enough to turn hard in the torturous summer desert 🏜 heat, and sun. I've seen these tires, myself. Your friend, Jeff. Yes, those parts are the front fenders of the truck.
I think that cross ✝️ you're talking 👄 about, was placed here, in memory of the person who went over the cliff in his Oldsmobile, or the driver of the truck 🚚 (or both). The cross ✝️ was probably placed where it was, because, maybe the person couldn't make certain where the crash site was, or it was too far down the cliff to put the cross nearby. Your friend, Jeff.
I punched in the info from the tag you found, into the internet, and it came up possibly a 1967 Oldsmobile Cutlass. ?? Here is a photo of one, if I can figure out a way to enter it in the comments.
I don't think there are ticks in the desert. I have never seen them. We used to get them on our dogs in Inyokern 50 years ago when the herds of sheep came through
Looks like a JOE PESCI SPECIAL as """SOMEONE""" met with PESCI and should have KNOWN BETTER about """OUT IN THE DESERT MEETINGS""" with a guy like JOE !!!!!!!!!!! NOTE == the car used in that BILLY BATTS TRUNK to HIDEAWAY while unconscience was a 1968 PONTIAC GRAND PRIX ********

I’m glad you didn’t fall into that mine, yikes! Cool Oldsmobile from late 50’s. Thanks again for another car search adventure!

Fantastic video Mario, can you imagine the noise that Oldsmobile made on its last journey down that hillside!
Tom UK 🇬🇧
Yea I could only imagine!
I would have liked to see what was in the trunk of that Olds. Very impressive how the chrome plating holds up on these old cars in this environment.
great video lots of history to interesting location to take care out there stay safe to 🙂
Exelent video!!❤ thank you
Thanks!

Not correct. It's a 1959 Olds Super 88 Holiday sedan. I decoded the trim tag in my post.
