Literally had mine done Thursday and i am 100% happy I’ve gone through with this surgery able to see 20/20 and the little things you appreciate with out having glasses is amazing
Hey I had a few questions. What ICLs were implanted in your eyes? Do you see halos at night and how uncomfortable are those? What was your prescription before the ICL?
Hey, thank you very much for this video and your experience in detail. I am from Germany and getting the ICL in about 3 weeks. My biggest worry is the bad feeling of keeping your eyes open and not be able to blink. There are some experience videos and blogs from people who had the surgery in Germany, but very often they were completely sedated and not awake during the surgery. So these videos didn’t help me a lot. 😅 Now that I’ve heard your experience about being awake while they do it, I am a bit more relaxed. Doesn’t sound bad at all. This was already getting horrible in my thoughts. 🙈 I tried to keep my eyes open for three minutes several times. No chance. 🤣 I am happy to hear that this will be absolutely no problem during the surgery. My prescription is -10/-11 and a bit astigmatism. My eye clinic will give me a pill to relax. I hope this will have the same effect like your infusion. 😂👌🏾 I don’t drink wine either, so might be a nice feeling. 😄
@Gendarmerie Los Blancos I had the surgery two weeks ago. Everything went well, it was quick and easy and the no-blinking was really no big deal. 😊 Actually it felt like I was blinking, but the doctor said everything is alright and how it’s supposed to be. The most uncomfortable thing was the really light light right in front of the eyes. But it was manageable. Unfortunately since last week (one week after surgery) my vision on one eye became very blurry. I went to another doctor because the clinic who put the lenses in is quite far away. He found that my eye pressure is way to high. He gave me different eye drops and pills to take to make the eye pressure go down. Today he checked it again and it’s better, but not as good as it should be. I am now stopping to take the pills and just go with the eye drops, so he can find out if the eye pressure is still go down without the pills. I am a bit sad about this problem, but I hope it will be no big deal.
@@Julesishappy thanks for replying. did you contact your surgeon in the meanwhile and what does he say? Apparently intraocular pressure is a common thing (also serious) but usually easily treated... on a scale of 1-10 how severe is the pressure/pain and is it affecting your daily tasks?
Thank you for this video! Looking forward to an update video. I am post op 2 weeks on right eye toric ICL . Had bad eye pain day of operation but resolved after first day. Did not get 20/20 result in that eye. It is still a little blurry. I would guess it might be in the range of correction error but I am going to ask the doctor to make sure the lens is not rotated causing the error. I am post op 1 week on left eye. Had perfect 20/20 in that eye the same day. Had a headache for three days around that eye but no eye pain. Still on the steroid drops. Due for follow up appointment in two to three weeks. I am over 50 and used bifocals. I was extremely nearsighted. I used to be able to see clearly within five inches of my face but I knew in advance I was trading that ability in exchange for the possibility of maybe getting completely rid of thick eyeglasses altogether and just using readers for up close work. I go back to work in two days and hope the mismatch between the strength in the eyes does not give me headaches.
@@Graysonhouston It's been a little over a month since the final surgery. It has been a HUGE adjustment for me so far. I have been having lots of headaches so it has been a struggle. I am hoping it's just a long healing process combined with eye strain, and will resolve in the next two months. I have glasses again now because I was having far too much blurry vision at distance and close up. Now my distance vision is great with the very minor corrective lenses (for slight residual nearsightedness and astigmatism) and I have bifocals again. I can see without the glasses but I wear them when I want nice crisp vision for driving and being outside (anything beyond 6 feet or so) and when I need to read anything with small print (less than 12 inches away). The good news is I can wear any style of glasses I want now because the lenses are super thin not like my old thick lenses. But for 1 foot to 6 feet I do not wear the glasses at all. Which means most of the time since I am on the computer all day long working. But that has led to what feels like serious eye strain and headaches. I just ordered some blue light blocker glasses from Amazon hoping that will help me with the eye strain from 10 hours a day in front of the PC. One crazy glitch though is the surgeon told me now I have a cataract (cloudy natural lens) in the right eye. I knew there was increased risk of cataracts long term from this procedure but I never expected it to be an instantaneous occurance! I don't know if he just overlooked some cloudiness there during the pre-surgery evaluation or the surgery truly did trigger it. I am probably going to go get a second opinion about it just to have someone else give me an overall evaluation of how I am healing up in a couple of months in addition to seeing my surgeon again. Hopefully the cataract will not progress or only progress slowly. Overall, I am hopeful about feeling I have close to "normal" vision again in the near future without headaches.
@@LadyBovine 1 year and 4 months post op. I am still not 100% adjusted to my new vision reality. The headaches were so bad a year ago that I felt like dying would be better. Surgeon looked at my eyes again and said there was no reason my eyes would be causing headaches. Went to primary care doctor and got an MRI of my brain. He could find no reason in my head for the severe headaches. I looked online for other causes and the only thing I coud find was tight neck muscles might cause the pain I was feeling behind my eyes. Very hard to believe that it is just a coincidence that these horrible headaches started after the surgery. Started doing lots of muscles stretches and using frequent ice packs (several times daily) on my eyes, neck, and head. Also tried muscle relaxers and migrain medicine. Severity and frequency of headaches decreased after that but still not completely gone. Also, not a day goes by that I don't have feeling in or around my eyes such as a brick inside my head on top of my eyes pushing down on them or a heavy cloudy feeling inside my head like I am wearing heavy goggles and my eyes are surrounded by thick cotton. Occassionally this feeling stops and my head feels "normal" but it does not usually laster very long. My vision overall has improved slowly probably due to brain adjusting and it has become a lot more "normal" but it has taken a very long time. I still have the cataract in the right eye and the cloudiness is always there and extremely annoying! I have an appointment with a neuro-opthamologist in two days to see if she has any fresh insight into the whole situation and what the future will be for me. It is nice to not have to wear glasses all the time and I can wear cool sunglasses now. But was it worth the cost and complications? Probably not.

My icl surgery differs slightly from yours because I didn't need the iridotomy ( holes made by the laser in the iris ) before I had the implants inserted because my implants have a central aqueous humor flow hole.
Grayson, you have no idea how incredibly valuable this video has been! Just got ICL so this is a great resource! Did you vision recover to full sharpness at all over the next few weeks / months? I would love to hear more about your recovery timeline, thank you!!
Looking forward to that, I'm sure are many others. In a quick two words, did you see noticeable recovery over the following months, if at all? Did you need additional correction thereafter?
@@Mrez95 Yes it took a couple of weeks to fully sharpen up and the haloing to go away. I did end up getting a Lasik touchup about 12 months later to tighten everything up
Thanks so much for doing this video. I’m over in the UK and currently deciding whether to have the procedure or not. I wonder if the sedative is just a USA thing or if they do the same over here? I reckon I’d definitely need it. My heart rate and blood pressure would be through the roof.
Glad to hear it went well for you! How bright was the light in your eyes during surgery? I have a sneezing reflex where if it's a bright sunny summer day, I will sneeze. I worry I'll sneeze during surgery and mess it all up.
you don't get icl's with cataract surgery - they will be IOL's - totally different procedure and lens. I think this would be a better option than icl's actually....
@@davidfwilliams1960 i thought it was the same. I live in the Netherlands 😅i did my surgery in august and i am so happy that i did it😄😄 i went from more than -20 to -2,5 eye sight🥳
@@corinne1981able not the same. The icl goes in front of your natural lens, cataract surgery removes your natural lens and inserts an iol to replace it.
Can you please advise if you can still wear contact lenses if your eye number changed again (short or long sighted) or for coloured contact lenses? Thank you
When you did your pre-operative evaluations, things like checking the number of the endothelial cells on the cornea, retina, anterior segments, did you know if they used UBM (ultrasound microscopy) to check the anterior segments and to determine the size of your ICL? Also, do you mind if you can share the cost of it. I've got multiple quotes, one is 6,500 and another one is about 10,000. Thanks.
If you can, it's probably better to go to south korea and get these procedures done. The clinics over there do much more of these operations than clinicians in the states do. There's also no need for iridotomy and the entire procedure and follow-up costs about 4-5k for both eyes. Some clinics can also do the procedure the same day as long as you don't have too much astigmatism or need special lens to be ordered. Also, might be a fun trip over to south korea.
Hi sir! How long did it took for you to see 'perfect'? (I had my ICL done exactly one week ago & my left eye has still a blurry vision when I look at things farder away from me, that eye is also more irritated than the other, and I'm worrying a lot now)

HI, thanks so much for the video. I was looking so badly about personal experiences with this type of surgery. I am - 11 and as I am developing an intolerance to contact lenses I am seriously considering this corrective surgery. I have a question for you and it would be great if you could share your experience. Are the halos so bad that you can't drive at night? I get some halos even with contact lenses but it doesn't impact my ability to drive so wondering whether it could be the same for the ICL. Thanks :-)
I did! I actually got lasik twice after. Once pretty quickly as planned, then again a year later. I wish I had waited a little longer for the first lasik because I think we would have realized I needed a bit more than they did
@@Graysonhouston and one last thing sorry, when did you get the first one ? And how much later do you think you should’ve waited ? Trying not to make the same mistake when I do mine haha

Hey again, i commented a month ago that I'm gonna have surgery, i just went through surgery 2 days ago. I wanted to ask something, did you face problems focusing things that are up-close to you?
Congrats on the surgery! I can’t really focus on things within a couple of inches of my face like I used to. Are you able to begin focusing as the object moves a few inches away?

@@sinha3997 sorry I didn't see this sooner. I am 200% glad I got it. Wish I wouldn't have waited. One bad thing is when I'm extremely tired I notice hard time focusing. That doesn't work anymore. Extremely fine print on bottles etc I can't see like I used to.
Hi Grayson, I got mine week ago 22/3/2022, Still find it hard to see far distance, my vision is really weak at night, But my halos went away on day 3 completly. Are u experiencing the same ? I can only see clear on 30-50cm distance, more than that is just like blurriness
Hi, I am thinking of having this surgery as well but I didn't decide yet. Is this surgery a long term solution? I am worried about getting early cataract after the surgery.
Hey i went through icl surgery 20 days ago. My right eye has double vision (Ghost Vision)kind of thing. Could you please share your email address. I want to know more about your experience.
I'm obviously not Grayson, but I had ICLs (v4c/standard size Evo) a week ago, and the halos are not bothering me at all (even from day one). I was prepared for them, and "attitude" about them might matter, but most of the time I either don't notice, or just find them oddly fun to "look" at. They're generally not especially big or bright, and they generally don't bleed much light to disrupt the image. It's much less than a proper camera lens flare, so it's just like an small added effect. Negative night time effect is minor, much less than I ever had with contacts, and much less than you get from just tired/dry eyes with a crappy tear film. Passing cars with bright headlights, on dark roads is way less bothering than I can ever remember for me.
@@okplld Still great. I only notice central hole halos when there's a bright light overhead, like over a mirror or something, and bright sun from certain angles. Some light bleed or starburst if it's very dark. Like sometimes if a meeting car is far away on a dark road it can have some slight halo around the lights until it gets closer, things like that. Overall vision is great, still seems stable, and i don't really think about my vision much anymore. I'm very happy.
Brother stick to your glasses and contacts no matter what anyone says. These surgeries should be used as a last resort to save your vision. I had prk and I have halos and dry eyes 1 year later. Dry eyes are so much worse than you think. I thought it was just drops but it’s not, it means your eyes always feel uncomfortable. People will say it is a 1% risk but that’s bs. And even if it is who cares. When your that 1% it won’t matter how little the risk is.

How it is going for u ?
Can you please make an update on your ICL journey? Can you wear coloured contact lenses if you wanted after this surgery?
Yes u can
Grayson, you have no idea how incredibly valuable this video has been! Just got ICL so this is a great resource! Did you vision recover to full sharpness at all over the next few weeks / months? I would love to hear more about your recovery timeline, thank you!!
I’ll do a follow up video very soon!
Looking forward to that, I'm sure are many others. In a quick two words, did you see noticeable recovery over the following months, if at all? Did you need additional correction thereafter?
@@Mrez95 Yes it took a couple of weeks to fully sharpen up and the haloing to go away. I did end up getting a Lasik touchup about 12 months later to tighten everything up
@@Graysonhouston can we get it soon, got a very similar prescription to you and would love to hear about what happened after! Thanks
Hey man! Hope you’re well! Would really appreciate an update
What was your eyeglass prescription prior to the ICL surgery?
Did you also have Astigmatism?
Hey man great video, ive got ICL booked in 2 weeks, hows your recovery going 3 years on?
Thanks so much for doing this video. I’m over in the UK and currently deciding whether to have the procedure or not. I wonder if the sedative is just a USA thing or if they do the same over here? I reckon I’d definitely need it. My heart rate and blood pressure would be through the roof.
Thank you for your video! I had a ICL surgery 3 weeks ago and I am having a sand sensation few times a day. Did you have it?
Glad to hear it went well for you! How bright was the light in your eyes during surgery? I have a sneezing reflex where if it's a bright sunny summer day, I will sneeze. I worry I'll sneeze during surgery and mess it all up.
How are you right now? Is everything going perfect ?
Thank you💪 i am getting cataract surgery with icl lenses. This really helps me😁
you don't get icl's with cataract surgery - they will be IOL's - totally different procedure and lens.
Updates plssss!
Can you please advise if you can still wear contact lenses if your eye number changed again (short or long sighted) or for coloured contact lenses? Thank you
Waiting for the follow-up video!
4-6k in LA, had a consult last month
Nice video man thanks for the info plan on having surgery this April. Any update on the eyes now my friend?
Do you needed reading glasses after icl surgery or no..
How are ur eyes now
Any complications
How much was the cost of it more are less?
Did you need to get lasik? Or did your correct in it’s own after some time?
Hi sir! How long did it took for you to see 'perfect'? (I had my ICL done exactly one week ago & my left eye has still a blurry vision when I look at things farder away from me, that eye is also more irritated than the other, and I'm worrying a lot now)
How is it feeling now?
Same problem
Can you update us about your surgery please ? And do u live your life without any problem I mean going to the gym and swimming pool and working normal ?
does it affect for fine detail works where you need to see small things under microscopes?
My Retina Is to thin I was rejected for the procedure..
Hey what company ICL you got implanted in your eyes? Since you got iris iridectomy I beleive your ICL didn't have a central hole in it.
I’m so happy for you! Can you please tell where is your Doctor in Denver? Thanks🙏🏻😃
Dr. Stahl at Denver Eye Surgeons
Congratulations man and thank you for this video.
Did you end up getting LASIK as well or?
Also, how do I research the doctors i've never done that before. I live in Sweden i'm gonna try researching doctors i'll see how it goes.
Nice video I'm going for mine next month Do you know anything about monovision my doctor was suggesting that
Hi! Did you notice any floaters in your vision after the surgery? Any dryness? Thank you!
How are the halos, the glares at night and the computer screens and others displays?
I notice more halos when driving at night, especially if my eyes get dry. In regards to computer screens and other displays I don’t have any haloing.
-17 ?! jesus I thought my -9 was bad. I got my surgery scheduled. Worried about side effects.
Any update?
Glad it went well, plus you look much better. Whats the maximum prescription that FDA has approved?
Dr Mohd A. Omar thank you. My understanding is they’ve approved up to -16. One of my eyes was -17 the other -17.5
The icl are approved up to -24
Any updates Grayson?
How do they stop ur eyes moving around
Hi there I was just wondering if you were getting rid of your old glasses I do a collection in my area for people with strong prescriptions that we donate old glasses too and I was wondering if you'd be interested in donating some of your old glasses That you are not using anymore if you have any and if you would like to help that would be amazing 😉
Did it make glare or starbusting or halo after icl ?
what was your prescription before the surgery? thx
Roughly -17.5
Happy for you thx for sharing
Abd B thank you!!
I want to surgery my eyes vary weak 20 sandals please help what can I do I hove no idea how many cast of surgery end icl please telling me
HI, thanks so much for the video. Thanks :-)
How does contacts intolerance feel like? What are the symptoms?
I am 22 my spex not stable from past 3-4 years what can I do for stable my sped pwer
Did you end up having to do the little bit of lasik ok top of the icl ? I have my surgery in may and they told me the same thing
I did! I actually got lasik twice after. Once pretty quickly as planned, then again a year later. I wish I had waited a little longer for the first lasik because I think we would have realized I needed a bit more than they did
@@Graysonhouston and now you’re seeing 20/20 ? Thanks for the update!
@@Limatola11 yep! Been all good for over a year now!
@@Graysonhouston and one last thing sorry, when did you get the first one ? And how much later do you think you should’ve waited ? Trying not to make the same mistake when I do mine haha
@@Limatola11 about 6 weeks after the ICL surgery. I just wished I had waited a little longer to let my eyes fully adjust then hopefully
Only have 1 lasik operation. Maybe it wouldn’t have worked that way, but in my head it would have 🤣🤷♂️
insane - glad 4u^
Thank you for the video! Could you update us, please? ❤️
I will try to shoot an update soon. The summary is: It's been incredible and totally worht it!
I have high myopia and astigmatism like - 21.5 on my left eye and - 14.5 on my right eye. I just cry everyday. It's depressing
I feel your pain! Definitely worth considering surgery if it’s impeding on your everyday life.
When your vision power Stabilize?
Curious if you ever developed anxiety around your high myopia? I’m not too far off at -13.50 both eyes.
Do u have floaters?
I am a student and I study via online classes on my iPad for around 6 hrs. How long do you think it's going to take me to restart watching screen on ( smartphones & iPad) after ICL implementation surgery?
Hey again, i commented a month ago that I'm gonna have surgery, i just went through surgery 2 days ago. I wanted to ask something, did you face problems focusing things that are up-close to you?
Congrats on the surgery! I can’t really focus on things within a couple of inches of my face like I used to. I always thought it was normal to be able to focus super close up but have since discovered that’s actually a reality of super high prescriptions. Are you able to begin focusing as the object moves a few inches away?
@@Graysonhouston i think my eyes are still adjusting to icls. I'll have a postop check up in few days. Will let you know. How was your vision thou after 2 days of surgery
@@rajjadeja4194 yeah I’m sure they’re still adjusting! I had pretty much no pain but it took a few days for my vision to normalize.
@@Graysonhouston turns out my right ICL rotated a bit by 10 degrees. I got it shifted back to correct angles. Everything's fine now. Been a week!
@@rajjadeja4194 wow crazy!! Glad to hear it’s all good
Hey I have heard of lens rotation in case of toric ICL. Did you face any such issues? Can you easily do all the physical vigourous activities like gyming n sports
I've heard of rotation but have not had that issue and have had zero issue w/ gym/sports.
I just had icl 2 weeks ago.
I was -8 and it's so nice to not have glasses anymore.
So happy with it.
I didn't have to have the tiny holes before.
Congrats!
Nice. What about the halos and the glares at night'
@@saiksaikatai594 I definitely have those more than before. But if I put eye drops on they get way better.
I'm thinking of getting icl but not sure yet. Can you give an update??
@@sinha3997 sorry I didn't see this sooner. I am 200% glad I got it. Wish I wouldn't have waited. One bad thing is when I'm extremely tired I notice hard time focusing. ( And I mean really really tired)
I don't notice any halos.
I don't like that I have to pull away to see close things, so used to being able to see extremely little things when put inches from face. That doesn't work anymore. Extremely fine print on bottles etc I can't see like I used to.
Hi Grayson,
I got mine week ago 22/3/2022,
Still find it hard to see far distance, my vision is really weak at night,
But my halos went away on day 3 completly.
Are u experiencing the same ?
I can only see clear on 30-50cm distance, more than that is just like blurriness
I did in 19 and 23 march fr 2 eyes.
I can see too far objects bt now i am facing near vision.😰😰😰
Nd i am facing pain too
@@dtaparnachatterjee5059 now ? How is your vision?
Has your night vision improved now 2 months after surgery?
So you had visian icl in both eyes, and you had lasik in both eyes a month later? Please respond I’m trynna get the same procedures as you
That’s correct!
@@Graysonhouston do you see any ghosting or double vision in your eyes, or do you have perfect eye sight?
@@molondon3071 I had some double vision before lasik. Now my vision is pretty much perfect.
@@Graysonhouston awesome congrats! My friend is dealing with halos and glares that’s actually insane you don’t have to deal with at all.
@@molondon3071 I have minor halos and such, but if I use artificial tears to keep my eyes moist they go away.
Hi, I am thinking of having this surgery as well but I didn't decide yet. Is this surgery a long term solution? I am worried about getting early cataract after the surgery.
Hello! Yes it's long term - I've not personally read anything about early onset cataracts as a result
The risk of cataracts is small but there's a chance you may get them within five years of having the implants.
Hey i went through icl surgery 20 days ago. My right eye has double vision (Ghost Vision)kind of thing. Could you please share your email address. I want to know more about your experience.
Hey Martand - This went away for me after I got minor Lasik in both eyes.
@@Graysonhouston Thank you very much brother. But how long did it appear for you.
@@maddysvlogs942 until I had lasik which was about a month after icl
Grayson - what’s your experience with halos? That’s my biggest fear involving ICL, I’d love to hear what it’s like a couple years later.
@@LadyBovine how is it now?
@@okplld Still great. I only notice central hole halos when there's a bright light overhead, like over a mirror or something, and bright sun from certain angles. Some light bleed or starburst if it's very dark. Like sometimes if a meeting car is far away on a dark road it can have some slight halo around the lights until it gets closer, things like that. Overall vision is great, still seems stable, and i don't really think about my vision much anymore. I'm very happy.
I can feel you bro. I also have myopia
Gonna have this surgery in a month. Are you facing halos?
Raj Jadeja extremely minor halos. Hardly noticeable. Nothing like I’d have at night without my glasses in pre surgery.
@@Graysonhouston Thanks! Quality video btw. Would like a "Experience after surgery" video lol.
Raj Jadeja I talk a lot about this at the end of the video but may do a “few months post surgery” video in the future.
Got it On 6/2/22
I wanted refractive surgery, but somehow when I see these videos I feel not so well. Really in a dilemma.
A. you still look strange with out glasses.
B. you look like a dork as a kid and i love it XD
XD XD XD XD
@snowfox you don’t even know... I have known him my entire life and it still looks weird to me too! 🤣

This week is enter her second week of recovery , howevershe still have a very bad vision especially see near object which is very blur. I would like to seek for second opinion. Following week she would need to start back from medical leave and concern if all this side effect still can affected her work moving forward . Thank you.
