I'm getting my Evo ICLs done this week. I thought about waiting and getting it done in Japan while visiting family and friends, but I decided I didn't want to spend half of my vacay recovering and seeing halos. Thank you for posting your experience. I haven't been able to find very many personal testimonies online
I have -17.5 in one of my eyes (the other one is also bad, but to a lesser extent) and have to get LASIK and ICL on that eye. I'm having it done in the USA (so jealous of those price savings 😂) and am so excited! But also nervous. Im glad it worked out well for you! Hoping to also be part of the no glasses gang soon! 🥳 By the way... to others reading this who got the procedure done- did you need an IV too? I was under the impression that that wasn't the case (maybe it depends on your location of surgery?). Now I'm worried. Me + veins = panic attacks. So that won't work ☹️
@@Designalily I feel normal during daytime, very clear. At night with low light, when my eyes got tired, I saw more halos ring but it is not that annoying.
Thank you so much for sharing this information. The EVO ICI website doesn’t give me any information or the price, so I needed more details. I just need to see what is out there because I am tired of using eye contact and glasses especially living in California. The weather here is brutal so I been having dry eyes, itchy watery eyes, and allergic reaction from contact of inserting the eye contact, so yeah. Your video is very informative and helpful. Did you went to South Korea to get this done? I believe you did.
I was around 14 when I was told by my doctor that I would never be able to get lasik surgery for the first time and it devastated me. My prescription is -16 and my corneas are steep (thin on one side). I still inquired about corrective surgery when I turned 21. I received mixed responses and was traveling for college so it wasn’t the right time anyways. Now I’m 26 and icl exists, it seems too good to be true to me but I have my exam in a week and fingers crossed that I qualify for the procedure. Even if I have to wear normal glasses sometimes, it would be a dream come true.
🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾 I hope and pray you get the answers your looking for. I’m 28 y.on and I’ve worn glasses since I was 8 y.o. My prescription is -8.75 in my left and about a -9 in my right. We just know it’s a better way of life out there for us. Don’t give up hope😌!
@@Tcsgsd I was deemed an excellent candidate to my surprise! Not only did the doctor think I qualified well but he stressed that it would be a dramatic quality of life improvement and he estimated at best 90% correction. I just need to do a couple more exams to be thorough and make my final decision. I’m still slightly put off by the risks and the cost but it seems at this point in my life like something I have to try.
I'm also based in the Bay and was considering doing ICL in Korea for the price - my main concern is not being able to do any post-op check-ups. Did you need any and were you not concerned about post-op check-ups?
thanks so much for your sharing. I was told by doctor that my cornea is too thin that makes me a bad candidate for LASIK, and ICL is the only option I can consider. Still deciding to do it or not. Quite indecisive due to its potential risks, and doc told me whether the surgery is safe and successful highly depends on the surgeon's skills. ☠And I have heard halos are quite common. Do you still encounter this issue nowadays?
Wow your procedure was a lot different than mine! I had it last week. I had no IV- they just gave me some Valium for anxiety. When it was over I was bit sore with a headache so they gave me extra strength Tylenol. They also had to constrict my right pupil because they had trouble getting the lens in. That took a few days to wear off. Now I’m at 20/20 but I am having some glare and halos. Driving during the day is great with sunglasses though! Glad yours went well.
I'm-9 but I'm sure I'm-14. Wish there were glasses I could put -10 and up digitally like a smart glasses rather than go to eye exam. Can't even drive because my eyes are so bad , I need evo icl but I'm worried I might not be Able to see
you mentioned that you originally planned to go to Japan for your eye surgery - what made you consider Japan? Like was it for the quality of care or cheaper cost or some other benefit?

im not sure if youre still replying to comments but could you share which clinic you went to? thank you!! Like you, my prescription is bad enough that Lasik is not an option. Naturally I've migrated towards researching ICL on and off for years, but every time, it's the halos reports that frighten me out. For you, was it something that entirely went away? Or did your brain adapt and so it no longer bothers you. Would love to hear more about your halo-specific experience! So glad you ICL went so well for you.
Scratch that. I see others asked similar questions below. Sounds like, you have some halos still, but overall, it's totally worth it in your eyes (pun not intended) :P.
My eye prescription is -9 both eyes and when I had the eye exam its the same but when I go out.. I can't see clearly, I went to 3 different eye exams and it's the same -9 and I can't see with the prescription yet in the eye exam I score 20/20. I want to get evo but what if I can't see with evo icl after surgery
Hello, Thanks for sharing your experience.. Can I ask something what is your eyes conditions before? How much is your Myopia and axigmatism? Why do you not qualified for lasik? I go to eyes doctor, she said my eyes have some spot in the iris. that's why she not recommend me for lasik but for ICL. But i don't know much about this procedure that's why I'm looking for more info about it.
Thankfully, they had someone working there who could speak English. But no official translator, though the bigger clinics will have them (albeit charge more as foreigner price).

I feel like something is always in my eyes and my vision is still blurry when i look to words write on monitor, i can’t stay in front of laptop. Is this normal for you ? My ophthalmologist said that is normal, but actually i am not satisfied with this operation.
Yes, I experienced dry eyes for the first two weeks (also this was remaining dryness from soft contact lens) but now rarely anymore! And I use digital devices way too much

No. It is a lens that is placed between your natural lens and the iris.

Hey , did you see something like ring or lighting in your eyesight and if you had when it gone?
I see halos occasionally but that's it! They shone a heavy light during surgery so the doctor could see where he was making the incision.
