Thank you for choosing to take the time and funds to report a story in Bolivia. As you've probably noticed, our country is so underdeveloped that it hardly ever gets much representation in online mainstream media, so it's really helpful to at least get some stories out there to the general public's eye. Maybe with time we can hope for a brighter future in our country's development, but for now all we can ask for is improving awareness.
Bolivia is perhaps the most criminally underdeveloped country I can think of. It has been robbed blind from the outside and within for its entire modern history.
how i miss my country...but there are two sides to every story... bolivia throughout its existence has struggled with political corruption, falsely appointed dictators and huge scandals..once the richest country due to its natural resources is now the poorest in south america...the struggle between the classes of the people has left the country divided for years..evo morales has supported the poor farmers, which is good, but has neglected the poor people from the oriental side of bolivia which further divided the already existing struggle..we are far from reaching a solution, one can only hope.

En toda America del Sur viajado por 7 meses, en Bolivia pase 35 dias y me anamore en la pais, en las personas, en sus corazones, ojos y todo. No deserven los bolivianos esta pobresa, pero cuando no hay dinero no tienes otra opcion. Es tan sencillo porque trabajan alli.

Like what usually happens when they come around, in Potosi alone, over nine million Africans and indigenous Bolivians (slaves) died in these mines over three centuries. Socialism had nothing to do with it; it was the European. I guess that's their way of expressing gratitude for Bolivia sharing the potato. The Spanish did the same thing in Mexican mines, killing millions.

This is true it's sad but I am from Bolivia and my uncle was just laid off from the mines as an engineer. EVO Morales let's this happen after he promised to make life better for them. They do more hand labor since there is no technology. If you google patiño he used to take care of the miners long time ago in Bolivia and gave them a better life.

Watching this makes me feel so much pain, so much sadness, and so much anger; these people could have had better and more privileged lives. This is not right, it is what these people only know, and I would love a different future for them.
The sad thing is that these guys don't realize they should be making way more since EVO sells it for 20 times what they make. He gives children a monthly income so this makes poor people want to have more kids.

I am Canadian and have lots of south American friends who say that Canadian mining companies are taking advantage of them. If this is what the mines looked like before we rolled in and started modernizing the processes, then well I am glad that we are investing in mines there. If the mineral resources is rich enough for these fine people to make a living there then just imaginge the kind of prosperity that can be realized if machinery was brought in to do this work and strict saftey laws. The miners would be more healthy, the mines would be more safe, minerals can be processed more effectively and with such profits, even environmental pollution can be paid for by the mine.

Absolutely unacceptable that kids have to work in the mines in order to support their families. There needs to stronger regulation when it comes to child labor along with better access to education for these children and increased working conditions for the miners! Even a mask or lights or other safety equipment could help. Insane how basic safety equipment is not even utilized to aid the situation there. I hope things improve for everyone there and that no child ever has to work in the mines again!
Wildlands... similarities to real world definitely not a coincidence! I feel for these rural communities. They almost really are completely reliant on their government leaders to give them a better outcome to their lives re education, health, work employment, public access and resources etc. Definitely makes Wildlands a lot more depressing now....
