Man, once, just once, I want to see Rodney Mullen walk out in this comp and watch everyone else just sit there like, "You gotta be f***ing kidding me?"
I’m months late but Rodney Mullen would SUCK at skate. No hand plants, no grabs,no bonelesses, no feet on the ground, no nocomplies. He never had stuff like switch inward heel.
Cadence King except what old heads can’t seem to understand is you can’t touch the ground with anything but your wheels during a trick in a game of skate so no he wouldn’t be giving out letters, he would be eliminated in the first round by real skaters who know how to do viable tournament tricks.
The man literally invented the majority of the "viable tricks". Yeah, I'm 30, but it doesn't mean I don't know what I'm talking about. It's okay though, I love Nyjah too, I'm not biased and ignorant like the responders 🤷♂️
Watched this 5 years ago when skating was my life as a baby teen. 20 now and youtube wanted to help me relive the old days. Thank you. Now gonna go watch the berrics😂
+drummerdude0515 He is very clean/perfect, and yeah it's a bit annoying seeing Chris's tricks not even look as perfect. But hey credit where credit's due.
Nyjah is a skateboarding samurai: extremely disciplined, thorough, clean, and completely dedicated to his craft. A prime example of someone who listened to their life's calling and did what he was born to do.

This is only fun when 2 guys who are friends are doing it with no crowd. I have always loved skating and love showing people about about skateboarding. I would never show this to anyone. Playing SKATE is not a spectator sport. It's a skill building challenge between friends.
@@gabelogan56 true especially cus most games are pathetic in skill compared to this one, but when you pull off these kind of tricks, people want to watch. especially if u can appreciate nyjah was probably a fan of c cole and grew on his stuff.

This matchup and the BATB 11 Finals was really cool, but the fact that both accounts heart and respond to a lot of comments is also very cool, respect!
These two are going to go down as legends. I grew up watching Cole. To see them rip off so many tricks with such ease goes to show how professional they are and how much time they have put into their craft. Skating has come a very long way.
These judges don't know nothing about trick naming, nollie cab bigflip like its just a nollie bigflip. Also cab varial flip, its not a cab varial flip its a cabalerial 360 flip.
Playing skate is my favorite thing about skateboarding. Everyone learns each others tricks. I couldn't kickflip and my buddy would always get that one on me. But I would always get bigspin on him. Skate games are the best way to compete against your friends.
as much as i enjoy seeing them skate together, this whole circus feels ridiculous and pointless, starting with these shitty commentators all down to this mall crowd. i'm actually wondering why the top pros still take part in that. can't be the money... after all, what's 10k to them two?
still a lot of money. As a skater you are finished with age, lets say 35 to 38 you're done. So Cole needs to keep the family provided for and thats why they need to build reserves for later times and invest. 10 K is a good grab for a few hours of work. When you grow up you realize it's about being able to provide for a family and you do a lot to achieve that.
What's 10k to them? It's an extra 10k they didn't have before. I think Nyjah honestly just enjoys competition but someone like Cole who is married with kids in his 30s, $10,000 for one competition in one day can go a long ways. One day of "work" and you've got a huge portion of savings for your kid to go to college.
Seriously though, even if I were a millionaire (most pros are not) I would still gladly do a competition for 10k. How many people in this world get a chance to earn 10k in ONE DAY? Not many people.
Who else began watching x games began to notice Huston with his raw talent then 1 hour later you realise after few vids of him that he has a mansion and has earns every inch of it shredding the contests

Are all these sick tricks that you see in compilation videos from pros like rodney mullen not consistent enough to do in this kind of setting? Would mullen destroy these guys? im not too impressed by this but i suppose that the tricks we see here are the hardest tricks you can get consistently?
It pretty much starts off fairly basic, if both have good basics, you move up into more difficult variations, many of them beeing different heel and nollie variations. The way to win a game of SKATE is to have solid fundamentals and consistency, not being able to do a bs/fs 360 nollie tre flip late flip once in a hundred (or thousand, that trick would be mental) tries. In skate videos we only see when they land the tricks and some bails, but not the 30 it took to land it. Skate parts and a game of skate are really two different worlds. You can have a guy do insane tricks in a skate part but would get destroyed in a game of SKATE due to lacks of consistent fundamentals, and another guy with extremely solid fundamentals but never goes for the crazy tricks. On the part of Mullen, perhaps. We've never seen him in a game of SKATE.
Mullen is an entirely different type of skater. He's more technical and more of a freestyle skater. And say someone like Tony Hawk, who is another entirely different skater. He skates vert and is amazing at that. And another skater say Tony's son Riley Hawk who is a street skater like the two you see in this video.
