Love the auction coverage! More of that. More of Pappa Punchin!
Thanks for the Feedback! I will have a couple more in the future.
You can peruse those magazines much faster if you don't read the articles. 😂
😂😂😂
Woah the coke sign!?😮
18 boxes of smut!? 😂
Your pop gets more adorable every time we see him!
It was a very interesting day!
That was a killer auction. Its good to see a reseller hitting an auction vs the run of the mill garage/yard sale or flea market. Great video bro!!!!
Thank you! I a firm believer we need to hit up different places to source to be successful.
@pickingandpunching For sure. Yardsales up here in Central Pa are tough. Its 90% baby/kids clothes and home decor. Most of my sourcing comes from auctions.
Great video! I love Papa Punching & the unicycles!
He loves his unicycles!
Let’s goo Poppa Punching! I’m a Mummer! Always look forward to your videos Rod.
He road his unicycle in the Mummer’s parade for multiple years. Thanks for watching!
I'm from right outside Philly! Growing up our nextdoor neighbors parents lived in S Philly so we got a front row 'seat' on their stoop to the Mummer's.
The club group I was in had their club house somewhere in that neighborhood. I was in the Goodtimers comic club and the Hammonds club. Had a blast. 👍👌👊💪
@@bethb7965 that’s awesome! I was lucky to be born into it and kept the tradition going with my son. It stinks that we no longer march all the way down Broad St like when I was a kid.
@@PapaPunching I have to ask my Dad if he remembers a Mummer from back in the day riding a unicycle! He was in Golden Crown in the fancy brigades. I march with Bryson in the wench division. The parade has been streamed online the past few years maybe you can catch it this year. Agreed it is such a blast and an awesome tradition!
Never bid first unless no one is bidding, glad Papa got the unicycle🎉
I agree.
Poppa picking n punching is absolutely adorable! Unicycle rider… must have been very popular! Handsome as well, u go boy!!!!😂 thanks for sharing Rod.
Hi Becky. Thanks for the sweet compliment. 😊 Had a blast and alot of fun. Hopefully more good times to come on it. 👌👍👊💪
Don’t encourage him! 😂😂😂
I really enjoy watching your auction videos. The weekly auction that we attended for years went all online. We miss it. Keep posting the auction please. Also, near the beginning of your video I have owned and sold the Fire King lustreware coffee cups. I also like that color. We watch all of your videos. Enjoyed the story about your dad and the unicycle.
Thanks for watching and giving me feedback.
the bad thing about auctions is that that there is always someone bidding one above plus your profit margin is very small compared to if you found it at a yard sale or flea market. With over thirty years in the selling of antique and collectibles I’m finally making some money versus just breaking even or having to store my unsold items. So I decided to start selling to the resellers from my local antique mall and as a picker for the other vendors under the table, now I’m finally making real money and no longer storing anything other than keepers.
The key to auctions is to find those items that no one sees value in. Thats how you can really make some great money from them. I love that you are selling to the vendors now. I always say “You don’t have to always sell to the end user. It’s ok to be the middle man”
@@pickingandpunching As mentioned, over the last five years my wife and I decided to spend only several dollars per item and condition is everything on todays market and that most resellers don’t get it how to price there overpriced items for local buyers especially the old timers. Our todays finds aren’t always old or even vintage but when it comes to MCM and DM this is what is getting the highest prices and toys both modern, vintage and antique I’m just amazed at the prices people are willing to spend on these products. Yes with today’s market you definitely need an antique booth and an online presents.
Great job with the video. I like the auction videos, and I like how you showed what was there and then what it sold for. Thank you for posting. Hi to Papa punching.
Thanks for the feedback!
Hello.
I love watching you and your dad. More auction videos!!!
Will Do!
Glad Papa got his unicycles!!
Like he needs more, lol. Jk
LIKE IT!! Wish things turned out like you hoped...but it always goes that way!
Thanks man! You can’t win them all. I had a lot of fun doing it though.
@@pickingandpunching Yeah I get to go to few down here in Sarasota.
@@ScottSkillin how are they down there?
@@pickingandpunching Not bad but just like anywhere else, all it take is for 2 people to want the same thing and it gets crazy!
I love these auction videos! They are a lot of fun to watch.
Thanks for the feedback!
This was great.
Thanks
I appreciate the feedback!
I LOVE the auction videos! Keep ‘em coming!!
Thanks for the feedback!
good for you for going there live. My anxiety and anger get the best of me lol so not my cup of tea. I'll do them online though!
It’s easy to get caught up on the moment! I get it.
That’s so funny about Papa Punching. I never would have guessed! And did you get the Frankenstein blow mold? That was a good price!
I didn’t buy it. It’s on my garage sale bucket list to find In the wild.
looks like fun, ty for sharing.
Thank you! It was a blast.
That is crazy the auction charges you a buyer's premium that's so ridiculous. I'm so glad in my area no auctions do that.
Believe it or not, but you are very lucky. It's actually the norm in the auction industry. I have been to auctions in several states. All the major auction house charge a buyers premium.
You come from a fun family!
You can say that, lol.
Loved this video plus it was fun hearing about your dad's circus background!
Thank you! You never know what is coming next with your videos, lol.
This is what happens everytime I go to auctions I buy something I didn’t really want and what I do want sells for way too much so I’m not the only one this happens to. It was a smart move to back out of the Disney lot I would have stopped at $600 tbh
It’s so frustrating because I would do so well at this auction if it wasn’t for the same guy that keeps beating me!
What a fun video! Loved watching the auction!!
Thank you! I appreciate you watching.
Love this kind of content, awesome 😊❤
Thank you for the feedback
Love the auction!!! Subbed!!!
Thank you!
Very interesting.. Loved the photo of your Dad..
Thanks! I need to find a photo of him on his six foot unicycle.
I didn't know about the Playboys! I have boxes and boxes of them from my Uncle Vinny's estate and haven't been able to figure out how to sell them. Thanks for the info!
Lot them by years if you have full yearly sets. Usually a lot of people do because they were subscribed to them or collected them.
Thanks for the info!
I like the auctions alot! Would love to watch you go to more!
Thanks for the feedback
Love the auctions!!!!
Good to hear!
Like the auctions, more of them please. Well damn lost out to the guy in the wheeler again.
He is becoming my arch nemesis!
Great video! Playboy magazines can go for good money.
The auction was fun!
They def could!
Also, if a collector has the $ and they want it. They will win. Which as long as the items end up in the hands of a collector, that's a win.
I’m a collector first and foremost. I’ll never get upset about losing out to a collector. They are the end user and where the item belongs.
Good Stuff! I like live auctions. There are not many around here anymore - The ones that are left are country estate auctions so mostly big stuff. Hard to ship....
Yeah, they are a dying thing unfortunately. Most of them are switching to an online format only.
Treasures! “DO NOT TOUCH”
I see what you did there!
Glad Papa got the unicycle!
Love the auction vids, and you didn't wiggle as much while biding this time lol
Haha! The Wiggle, lol
Enjoy the auction videos. Fun change of pace.
I agree. They are fun for me to go sourcing at as well.
Id love to see more stuff like this
Thanks for the feedback.
@4:29 the box with some old hutch soda bottles . Some of them sell for good money depending on the state and city .
They can sell great. I don't know enough about them at the moment to make bid on them. I have picked up a couple up at garage sales in the past when they were super cheap.
So cool 🎉🎉🎉
Thank you!
The auction was pretty cool
Thank you!
I used to go to that auction for years but got tired of being outbid LOL I tell you something funny I sold at Junk in the Trunk a few months ago I bought something from a vendor for 5 bucks A few hours later I sold it the same day for 20 The guy I sold it too put it on that auction you went to and it sold for 55.00 Thats how the flip game works everbody made a piece up the line Not a home run but a base clearing hit LOL
😂
Our parents gave us a unicycle. I mastered the stilts they gave us but could never get that unicycle 😅
I tried myself and I spent more time on the ground than on the unicycle 😂.
I do enjoy the auction videos.
Thanks for the feedback.
Love the old metal fans. It’s funny how things like that has all gone t plastic guess kids were smarter back in the day ha😂
Now we are so sue happy. Maybe they just didn’t report them back then for making stupid decision, lol.
Look for all the fishing stuff.
I do but it always goes for a lot at the auction.
Rod that was so awesome!! You always have great content and we learn so much from them. Keep them coming!! Where was that Auction by the way? Your # 1 Fans Chip and Judy ( We met at Webster last year)
This was around the Tampa Bay Area. There are actually a lot of local auction houses in Florida. I would do a search in your area to see what is around you.
@@pickingandpunching cool, i was wondering what the name of that one is , would like to come up that way and try my luck.
@@chipestrada9138 send me a message On IG or by email.
@@pickingandpunching Rod, sent you an email. i am not on IG. Chip
@@chipestrada9138 I didn’t get it.
Eighteen boxes of Playboys will always be a win. 😃
😂
The VCR was a funny one to me the way you said Camera, I believe that was hooked up to TVs for security cameras and someone put that sticker on it to denote what it was for as I'm sure there was more than one wherever it was originally setup at.
That makes total sense now.
That was a fun auction. I wanted that cke sign but went toooo high.👍👌👊💪
That coke sign went for crazy good money.
I like the auction videos
Thank you for the feedback!
Definitely check some of them Playboys, I inherited a few and worth $$ individually, if you're up for the research is all.
I know they can bring really good money.
good camara work
😊
Thank you!
I agree with your logic on the disney buy, even if its really cool the money VS time does not work. BTW what did the music box go for? I think it was item 83???
Sorry I don’t remember seeing what it went for.

That little unicycle was very cool - does your dad think it could have been a salesman sample? I've bought a couple of unicycles for my father in law too - he rides them at times and even at times exercises by riding it on his treadmill 😂
That’s great! I don’t think it was a salesman’s sample. This auction house got a massive collection of carnival items. I’m less than a hour from Gibsonton, Fl. That is the famous carnival town in Florida. It’s where a lot of the carnival people lived. The TV show American Horror Story did a season on it (they said Jupiter, Fl on the show. It’s actually based off Gibsonton.) I’m thinking it was more of a novelty item/prop from the circus but I could be wrong.
Wow! Riding a unicycle on the treadmill?!
@@bethb7965 doesn’t sound too safe right? He would hold ski poles in case he needed balance help but I sure as heck wouldn’t try it
The tank at 12:28 looks really cool! Wonder what it’s worth, never seen one
I was thinking the same thing. I missed it when it went up for auction.
Nice
Thank you!
40 bucks for the blow mold was a deal something like that I wouldn't sell tho
I wanted to buy it so bad but it’s on my garage sale bucket list to find in the wild.
Hey❤❤❤
Hey! ❤️
yes , love the auction videos. all our live auction houses closed with covid, just the online ones left.
man I miss those live auctions.
t the
I’ll keep making them!
FLY EAGLES FLY !!!!!!!!!!
Go birds!
Oh man, that liquor is illegal for them to sell unless they have a liquor license
👍
Do some storage units ?
That’s the plan but I need to clear out some merchandise first before I do that.
I would pay at least $300 cash for that collection of playboys, where are you located
I’m located in the Tampa Bay Area. Send me a IG message.
The mickey gets mounted to the top of a pole. It isn't a mold
Really? I had no idea. What’s the backstory on that?
@@pickingandpunching The bottom plate with the holes is used to mount it. No idea where it came from, but could of been at a park or disney resort at some time. The deformity on the nose was creeping me out tho lol.
I always love the auction styles & watching you battle it out. That was definitely a 💦💦 mature haul, haha. Have a great day brother, much ❤❤ #staylegendary
😂😂😂
👍🏻👊🏻👍🏻
Boom!
Its not a profitable to get inventories for resell on bidding
Depends on the auction and situation. I just sold that lot of playboys for $300. I have sourced from auctions for years both online and in person. I will say that you do have to be disciplined and not get caught up in the moment. There will be times I go and I won’t buy anything. It’s not my favorite way to source but it’s a nice change of pace.
use a disguise next time he wont know its u .....
Great idea! I should get one of those eyeglasses that have the fake mustaches attach to it.

What about slot car books, i have a few of them. Hardback
I would recommend looking them up. I do very well with hardcover slot car books.
@pickingandpunching I have some really good old books, they are used because we read them and we're passed down from my old brothers and sisters to me. They are still in good condition we took care of our belongs, we were taught well.
