Fun Fact: Vennominaga’s win condition was passive in the anime. Meaning if it would deal battle damage once to your opponent, in 3 turns they’d die. Can only imagine if the card actually had the anime effect how toxic it would be
@@aliastheabnormal Funnily enough, 2 years ago I actually had someone summon Vennominaga on me in Master Duel... on turn 12... And they didn't get a single Hyper Venom Counter until turn 15... Though it *DID* take me until turn 28 to beat them. ...Because I was playing Kuribohs...
One of the most hilarious Iron Chain Snake plays I ever saw was - Repairman - > Summon Snake -> Infernal Reckless Summon -> Kaiju opponent's monster - Equip all three Snakes to Kaiju -> Attack into Kaiju with almost anything. You can get 30 cards in GY with that. It's hilarious - but also doesn't work that consistently.
"but also doesn't work that consistently" Gee, you don't say... I'd consider trying it in Master Duel for shiggles but while I have Foolish Burial and 3x copies of Inferno Reckless, I don't have Snake Rain to make getting Chain Snake in the GY easier. So I'd have to hope that my opponent shoguns Maxx "C" or has a mandatory Monster effect so I could search Foolish with Thrust. (And even then, there's no easy way to search for Quick-Play Spells...)
As a venom deck player - in an old format - I must speak. Venominaga is not even close to be a bad card in her archetype. Because the whole archetype is an absolute disgrace. If I had to elect one to be the worst card in the archetype, it would be Venom Boa : 1600/1200 level 5 reptile. So must be tribute summoned. That's a very bad start, but may be the effect will justify it ? His effect :" you can put 2 venom counters on a monster." Yeah, well, that's not very good. Oh, there's more ? Let's see it : "If you do, this monster can't attack this turn". Yup. Venom Boa, lemme tell you that you suck. (Sorry, I had to)
Reptiles are so cool. Amazing op for great designs, play styles, and art. What Konami’s done to the little guys should be a war crime. Pyro got Snake Eyes. Rocks got Adamancipator. It’s Reptiles turn.
@@TheKitty699 Snake rain is why konami is afraid to give reptiles a good archetype because thats a free tank of gasoline for your GY in a Bidenomics economy 🤣
I disagree with Venominaga being on here personally yes she's tough to bring out but she's still a solid card she's unaffected by basically everything minus getting tributed and when used with cards like Snake rain she can become a powerful beater. Not to mention she has a built in win condition Sure she's hardly a viable card but I don't think she belongs in the same catagory as toon alligator or any of these other cards. All that's really needed for her to become viable is for her Archetype to get some more support Venoms are in desperate need of some
You have some stuff wrong about the not flip effect monster flip effect monsters. Only ones that say “when this card is flip summoned” like swarm of scarabs work like you are describing, in fact those are actually a bit worse because you can’t use an effect to flip them face up to get their effects off. However the ones that just say “flipped face up” (like flip-flop frog) are actually better than regular flip monsters because they can flip themselves down, but still work if attacked into or flipped up by an effect, really the only downside is losing the flip specific support. You become very familiar with these mechanics if you are a Subterror player in duel links because we don’t have guru yet, so we play a variety of monsters that can flip themselves down so we can special summon the high level Subterrors. Or use book of moon on a nemesis warrior in a pinch
#3 is prob a good place for here these days. Kaiju do her no favors, and she was difficult to summon even in her hayday. A lot of the times the reptile deck engine could win much more easily than with her, and Evil Dragon Antanta came out shortly after, and stole most games Vennominaga would have struggled to win.
Think it was even worse that it was placed better than the OG Reptile Version of Towers or Rhongo Bongo, which was really only balanced by her difficult summoning condition
@@akiradkcn After seeing why Venominaga is so low on this list....no....not at all. EVERYTHING he said about why Venominaga is bad is that "your opponent can play around it, it's kind of hard to use, and the WORST part...your opponent MIGHT be playing Kaijus to tribute it". That literally comes off as someone who has NEVER played Yugioh in thier life, just watched videos and for some reason REALLY hates cards with alternate win conditions. If you're playing with a Venominaga deck, sure you might not win all the time, but you'll be smart enough to set up your deck to play around the difficult conditions to go for the win. Placing it low because "Your opponent can counter it"... yeah, I'd have deleted that one and just put another normal Reptile on the list...
@@MarioMastar I’m not opposed to her being on this list, but she should’ve been close to the bottom. Her instant win effect and near immunity to destruction makes her the best card on this list
If you put Vennominon on board, most decks will just banish it or battle into it. You can’t rely on matchup inexperience. If you destroy it yourself, the common decks have trap negates. How many reptiles can you put into grave turn 1? Even if using grass in a 60 card deck going first, you hit 20 reptiles for 10000k atk max. (Excluding Snake rain and stuff) About as unrealistic as your opponent just happening to have the out. What’s stopping your opponent from hitting the venominaga in grave with Crow or Called By? Kaijus are searchable in some decks these days you know? The graveyard effect of Venominaga is also negatable.
6:53 I will never forgive Masterduel for pushing the idea that Executor is the leader and not Thunderlord. Literally every other account of the lore I’ve read says Thunderlord is in charge. I don’t know who to believe anymore.
Reptiles - a Monster type that will never get the love it deserves, because someone at Konami REALLY regrets printing Snake Rain. Least they have some cool Lore, even if part of it is the absolute mess that is Duel Terminal in hindsight.
@@millermcd The Ban List is honestly a bandaid solution to Yugiohs many problems at this point - sure, we could throw Snake Rain on there, but knowing Konami’s ever escalating power creep in card design, I’d give it a couple months before there’s a retrain that somehow works around hand traps.
Heya Duel logs. Ever think about doing a ranking video of monster archetypes from worst to best? Like Kaiju's worst monster to best? There's quite a few Kaiju monsters, but everyone always talks about Gameciel more than the others and it made me wonder what makes him better than the others and what makes the others worse?
@@KnightmareX7 Gamaciel is the widely used bec its lower ATK power. So squishing an enemy boss monster and giving them a 2200 atk turtle makes it much easier to run over the problem. If ran in a dedicated Kaiju deck, Gamaciel's 2nd ability is also really good: its a reusable effect negate if you have kaiju counters on the field that also results in banishing those cards I would say the worst of the Kaijus is Mecha Dogoran. It cant be used to squish an opponent's monster... and when you summon it, you need kaiju counters AND additional kaiju monsters on hand to give it ATK... no protection too
The thing with Iron Chains in the Anime is that their spell "Poisonous Chain" had the effect to Mill cards equal to the combined levels of Iron Chains on your field, not 1 card per monster like on the TCG; That made them quite dangerous as all you had to do was stall and the spell would deck out your opponent in around 4 turns.
Back in 2011 i actually beat a meta player that had spend all his money on whatever meta deck he had (i think he played tele-dad, but it's been a while) with Hydra Viper. He was more ashamed than i then realized lol
Mask of Retribution really helps Vennominaga decks, its best to keep one set or in the hand until you summon her. It is very efficient and shuts down frequently used handtraps. She seriously needs more support, she's an awesome and beautifully designed card to use.
Gigobyte technically wasn’t the first card in the lore. Though it was its first form in lore. Gagagigo was the first card since it came out in DCR vs Gigobyte came out in AST, two sets later
17:10 Idea to make this card into an Xyz Pendulum with no monster effects, that plays support for non-effect Extra Deck monsters: _Gagagigo the Almighty_ (WATER) Rank 12 0⬅️➡️13 _If this card that is in your Monster Zones would leave the field: Place it in your Pendulum Zones instead. You can only use this effect of “Gagagigo the Almighty” Once per turn._ Reptile/Xyz/Pendulum _2+ Level 12 monsters_ ATK/5000 DEF/5000 Basically the card would act as a roided out “Polymerization” for ALL non-effect Extra Deck monsters, and in multiple at that. Meanwhile at 5000 ATK and DEF, this card would surpass the “Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon” (which it can summon with it’s Pendulum Effect) as the strongest Non-Effect monster in the game, which would be fitting for a monster who’s lore was all about becoming the strongest it physically could be.
I once fooled around back on Dueling Network over a decade ago with a deck that used both Worm Zero and Vennominaga. The key card was Pre-errata Future Fusion. Imagine having both of those monsters on the board with 30+ Worms in your GY.
Please make a “failed cards, etc.” video on Naturia! Or the seal of orichalcos arc cards! Also, how about a “top 10 cards NEVER restricted in any way, but were widely considered to be hit on a banlist” (ex. Dante) (And video #19 where duel logs doesnt read his comments)
Damn this card game got confusing quick. I started playing Nightmare Troubadour again a few days ago after not touching Yu-Gi-Oh for like 15+ years. Seeing how much the modern cards differ from the DM era is mind-boggling. Great video, I understood at least a few things here and there 😂
With Venominaga i want to throw in that they did make "offering to the snake diety" wich was "icarus atack" for reptiles, & Venominon can still be summoned by spells/traps, so you can use "damage=reptile" to get Venominon, use OttSD to pop him+2, use RotSD & there she is ! Still a hard to summon boss monster thats part of an awful archetype but it got me some inconsistent wins back in the day
27:44 Idea to play into the “Hydra” aspect of this card: _The Lernaean Hydra Viper_ (WATER) Level 4 Reptile/Effect _If you control a Face-up “The Lernaean Hydra Viper”, you can Special Summon this card from your GY. Can make additional attacks per battle equal to number of Face-up “The Lernaean Hydra Viper” you control. If this card is destroyed by battle, or removed for the field by an opponent’s card: Either Special Summon 1 “The Lernaean Hydra Viper” from your hand, or add 1 “The Lernaean Hydra Viper” to your hand from your deck._ ATK/1800 DEF/400
There was a time when I actually had Gagagigo the Risen playable in Duel Links as a 1-of. It was when Fiendish Chain was the most used trap card in the pool, so summoning a surprise Gagagigo the Risen made him untargetable by it.
As someone who frequently played Alien, Venom, and Worms and also loved and collected almost all of the cards that featured Gigobyte, this video feels tailored to attack me personally! Loved the Gigobyte lore inclusion!
Ngl, I kind of wish the Iron Chain archetype gets some support and figures out what it wants to do. I personally would like it to be a milling archetype. If they want to add burn to it, have it as a side bonus.
You put a lot of focus on card lore with some of the choices in this countdown. Have you ever done or considered a card going over card character lore? Gagagigo's is interesting and I get the feeling there's others which can be found in the cards. This is speaking as someone who is much more casual in interest in Yu-gi-oh and always finds it fascinating when the different cards tell stories. Not just in Yu-gi-oh, but in other TCG's too
20:12 I didn't realize Extra Deck vanillas aren't considered normal monsters until today when I used Instant Fusion to bring out Kamionwizard and tried to link it off into Link Spider lmao
The best I can think for Hydra Viper is to slap on Power of the Guardians to make the most use out of its triple attack. Otherwise it's just a serious pain with a summon condition like that.
Funny, I was looking through some of my old cards earlier today trying to find some copies of A Legendary Ocean and stumbled upon a copy of Hydra Viper and read it just to miss the aqua requirement on it since I thought "huh maybe that would have been useful if you had some Scape Goat tokens on your field you wanted gone back in the day or something" but now that I know the truth of its effect I see that there was no redeeming quality/situation for it like I thought there was.
personally, I won't put Granadora in the list. It's a 1900 Attack beater, which is still rare in IOC era, and on the next set, Ancient Sanctuary, this card has a place for the "High LP" playstyle of the Sanctuary in the Sky deck. It might not be META even at that time, but definitely not the worst reptile around.
Vennomimaga is both a great and an absolutely terrible card. Godlike protection and a floating effect that lets it come back even if it somehow gets destroyed. Plus, the fact that she can be slotted into any Reptile archetype as an alternate win condition. But its summoning condition is incredibly difficult and her being as strong as she is, as well as the existence of Snake Rain, is half the reason Reptile archetypes *in general* are mostly so underpowered. Because if they print more powerfull cards for them, then that instantly makes her more viable and/or easier to bring out PS: Offering to the Snake Deity is also a direct piece of support as it can destroy one of your Reptiles as cost and 2 of your opponent's cards. Giving you a direct avenue to summong her. Still, you need to actually get that and Vennominon on the field. So its mot a huge boost.
@@filipvadas7602 during the slower days, i fired off Snake Rain + Limit Reverse on Venominon on opponents turn. Then set it to defense position to blow it up and then activate Rise of the Snecc Diety. Its not easy to get to since thats 3 different cards, 2 of which isnt searchable, but it works well enough :3
so fun fact, if venominaga hits the field after Destiny Hero Plasma she actually is not immune to effects anymore because the effect immunity is negated, based on who was on the field first, so if you swing over her she will revive negated.
0:12 Idea to make this card stronger while matching it up to it’s lore: _The Fated Gigobyte_ (WATER) Level 1 0⬅️➡️0 _During your Main Phase, you can Normal Summon 1 Normal monster in addition to your Normal Summon/Set. (You can only gain this effect once per turn.) Once per turn, if you Summon a Level 5 or Higher Normal Monster, You can add 1 Level 4 or Lower Normal Monster to your hand from your deck. Once per turn, if you Summon a Level 4 or lower Normal Monster, You can add 1 Level 5 or higher Normal Monster to your hand from your deck._ Reptile/Pendulum/Tuner/Gemini _This card is treated as a Normal Monster while face-up on the field or in the GY. Meanwhile this card’s Gemini effects let you special summon other versions of itself while also making it return to your Pendulum zone should it leave the field. And I chose the Pendulum/Tuner/Gemini type combo because it simply doesn’t exist in the actual card game yet, so this card would have a BIG suite of support cards to tap into.
the main problem comes from that gemini tag, and the way the game treats those cards. You make the assumption a normal monster can have an effect before being gemini summoned solely for the sake of letting the card be searched by another copy of itself. If you didnt already see the problem: a *normal* monster with an *effect*. It doesnt matter that the inherent effect is passive: by definition, having the effect means the monster is by definition, an effect monster. Simply sticking the generic gemini text on the card to treat it as a normal monster does not redefine the card as a normal monster. All precedent says the effect has to come at the COST of gemini, and not be present before the second summon. Maybe you could get away with some of this if it was changed from normal monster to the grey area of non-effect monsters, but the card as written still breaks all the rules of precedent. It all depends on the internal rules for the design of cards that could easily be considered a "company secret", in which case all we have to work with is the context of precedent. We can move the passive effects past the gemini clause, but then the card has all the same flaws as gemini monsters. Is it really worth leaving a 0/0 on the field for 2 turns? It would be dead by the time you could use its special summoning effect, and doesnt pay off as an instant XYZs to make it worth the investment. With all that in mind, you are trying to add a 1 card engine to a deck without searches or special summoning, all while requiring it to stay on the field for 2 turns to get the engine online while giving it no stats to protect itself. Might as well give it battle immunity once gemini-ed, since it cannot have it beforehand. But still, to get it online, you need something to prevent it from being destroyed, which even on the generic side requires a second card, alternatively, a way to special summon it out, which again is a second card, and maybe even an extra normal or gemini support to get the gemini summon off in the first turn it hits the field. That is, when generous, a 2 card combo of currently unsearchables to get the card working, and 3-4 if we are being certain it will stick around long enough to give us value. Yes, all of this is under the assumption precedent provides that gemini have to be effect-less till their second summon, but this would also be quite the interesting choice to be the card that introduces the reworked gemini tag as part of an undefined archetype (card lore is a completely different metric few actually notice).
@@cullenlatham2366 Here, let me revamp the card a bit then, see if this helps more: _The Fated Gigobyte_ (WATER) Level 1 0⬅️➡️13 _Face-up Normal and Gemini monsters you control cannot be destroyed by battle. Besides all that, I was aware of the first point you had made, and was banking on the Tuner and Pendulum bits (and the support cards they have access to) to make up for how bad the Gemini part was (plus Gemini monsters have some potent support cards themselves, so I thought having a Tuner and/or Pendulum monster that can take advantage of those would be interesting for players trying to play 4D Chess with their deck building.)
@@ButFirstHeLitItOnFire eh, i think with the revamp i saw some of where my confusion came from. pretty rare to see pendulums in suggestions, so here i was thinking the scales were atk/def. My own reference for pendulums really ends at solfachords, so i really cant speak on their balance and just completely missed the separation between pendulum effect and monster effect. It is an interesting concept for a card in general, but i am not sure i am as qualified to judge its balance in this abstract sense, ESPECIALLY with limited pendulum context and the word salad pendulums become. 13 might be excessive for scales, especially when the original effect was special summoning lvl 5s to make it an archetype. If we want to avoid breaking the scales too much, maybe a 3-9 with the clause of "if this card is used to pendulum summon a normal or gemini monster, its scale becomes 0 or 13, whichever number is closer to its current value" (dont want a generic summoning the yubel archetype, eh?), but again, i realize just how far out of my depth i got when i completely ignored the pendulum tag.
@@cullenlatham2366 It took me a while to figure out pendulum monsters too. Just watch a video that explains them “for dummies” or the like and look at some preexisting Pendulum monsters from the Wiki, and you’ll get the gist of them soon enough. But anyway, the card is designed to help support Normal and Gemini monsters in equal measure, and given the power gap between them and effect monsters, I had to get a tad… drastic. Imagine if you would, a starting hand with nothing but 2 of this card and any number of Normal and/or Gemini monsters….You can place the 2 of this card in your Pendulum Zones, then Normal or Pendulum summon in any order you see fit to maximize the card’s summoning and search capabilities. Maybe use your 2 Normal Summons to search out a few more Normal or Gemini monsters (if 1 of this card is in each of your P. Zones, the search effects SHOULD actually double up, letting you search 2 cards from 1 summon), then pendulum summon them all while your hand is nice and fat with them, and continue your plays with them while they’re also all safe from battle destruction. If it all seams like overkill, remember: _The worse the kinds of cards you’re working with, the more legroom they have for strong support._ Like how cards (like “Grinder Golem” when Link monsters first came out) can become menaces overnight after being mediocre or just plain awful after a change in the game suddenly makes them relevant.
@@ButFirstHeLitItOnFire yeah, i learn through doing, not so much watching, especially something as complicated as pendulums. I understand the basics, but the relevant archetypes are some of the most complicated because of word salad. I can piece it all together for archetypes of exclusively pendulums (hence liking solfachords once i moved away from melodious), but it is the mixed archetypes (like performapal) that throw me off, even moreso without the context of arc v or in the different format that is DL. XD Exactly what i mean about being "too broken". Pendulums have the highest skill floor of the mechanics, but there is so much generic support out there for nearly any type of card that you have to take certain precautions to avoid an instant ban. limiting the scales when not using it for the category of normal, non-effect, and gemini is just one way to limit its potential as a generic staple that would be included in ANY deck that can support pendulums without being their central gimmick. A blanket 0L13R might just be too powerful to integrate into the game without a caveat, as even decks that dont use pendulums might just consider adding this single card at 3 of if they can get to it consistently to bring out high level boss monsters that otherwise would be difficulty to swarm. The problem isnt that it has a 13 for the sake of normals, gemini, and non-effect, but that it is non-archetype specific: bringing its default scales down to 3-9 still lets it get out boss monsters, but not ones so broken they could single-handedly win the game. a lvl 12 normal isnt going to shake up the game with no protection, only act as a body worthy of its 12 stars at around the 4000 cap youd expect from all but the most niche of cards, perhaps even 4500 for lack of effect, but bringing out a random yubel when the opponent doesnt expect it CAN win the game immediately, especially with the setup to bring it up to a stage of being directly offensive. Probably not the best example, but DL is also a smaller pool where Yubel has left a more permanent mark on the game's history than it practically ever did in the TCG.
At least you could run Swarm of Scarabs in a Dream Clown/Blade Rabbit deck in Ultimate Masters 2006. Oddly enough one of my favorite cards to include in those kinds of decks is stumbling since it allows you to activate the effect of Blade Rabbit or Dream Clown upon normal summoning them.
I'll never forget the war I waged against a Vennominaga-Ogdoadic player in Master Duel using my Kuribohs that involved making an Accesscode Talker with Borrelend Dragon to hit over their 7000 ATK Diety, Summoning a 5k+ Kuribabylon, and Dystopia the Dispondant. Good times... Oh, and Duel Logs only left *ONE* card out when talking about Iron Chain; there legitimately are only *SiX* cards in the entire "archetype". That's right, they have fewer cards than even *AQUAACTRESS.*
@@theAlmightyu haha same... i played worms in my venominaga deck too... although its mostly Cartaros, Yagan and Xex... the rest really arent that good I also put a few Lswarms, mostly those with self special summoning effect, to allow for some rank 4s like Ophion
So there is a way to cheat out Vennominaga fairly easily, with the card Trap Tracks Find a way to summon Vennominon (Ogdoadic Water Lily/ Serpent Strike probably being your best options) and set Trap Tracks Pass turn, flip Tracks. It sets a normal trap from deck that you can use immediately at the cost of destroying a monster. So you get Snake Deity, which has its conditions instantly fufilled since Vennominon was just destroyed by card effect so bam mostly free Vennominaga Problem then becomes that yeah she doesn't do anything. Hell if you're playing reptiles it means you've got a lot of them in grave and will most likely just kill your opponent with big attack before the hyper counters even come into it AND since you had a bunch in grave anyway you could probably have won much easier much earlier

Gagagigo is definitely a monster that has its fans, especially if you were a Tag Force player, since the intro deck was Water-type and he was the go-to 4 star monster from that initial Deck.

I like Gunslinger** Lore explanation better, just because it not only makes more sense, but it actually goes into better detail. (Edit: just checked and his name is the one of above) Gunsling's very short story summary: He never made a bargain with the Mad scientist but was healed by him after his fights with Freed and the Dark Lord. The percussor to his tainted soul of the water girl's good influence. Banished by Freed to the DD realm because of Freed's beef with the Dark Lord, who knows how to get there. Corrupted by his frailer to win and protect he begins to also lose his very self and becomes the 2950 ATK beatstick that beats Freed and the Dark Lord and Inapchi. However, gains his sanity aftwerwards due to the Marauding Captains actions of using his body as a shield. As Gagagigo then goes on to become the Xyz version monster with 2450 ATK and is Light base. Anyways, if you read this thank you! P.s. go check out the video, as it's way more heart wrenching...
I'll say this again. The worst lists only exist to shit on old cards and never post synchro or XYZ era cards. Talking about old cards (let alone vanilla or vanilla extra deck cards) is both pointless cause there's nothing to say. Also once again horribly unfair and bad comparisons
Yeah, the Venominaga segment really is just a "I hate cards with alternate win conditions so I'm going to tell everyone to never play the card" as his logic is literally "cause the opponent can possibly play around it, and it's kind of slow and your opp MIGHT have a kaiju while YOU are too dumb to build your deck around Venominaga to help get the effect off. Oh and she lost in the anime cause Jaden summoned a big beat stick." REALLY? We fans HAVE played the game before...whoever wrote that part of the script CLEARLY didn't....
@@MarioMastar Yea I DID point out why Kaiju is a factor against Venominaga if 99% of the boss monsters that are widely used get squished by an angry turtle almost instantly too...
I hope one day there's some wicked powerful Aqua archetype that can clear the board, leave 3 Aquas with a total of 4400 and then somehow pull Hydra Viper as the world's most unexpected OTK tool 😂
A fun bit of humor, I am the sole player in yugioh history, likely to continue till the end of time due to power creep, to successfully play Vennominaga in a Shonen Jump/YCS feature map.
Half the list probably could've been the Worm monsters, but they'll get their day whenever the Failed Cards/Mechanics video for them happens. I'll admit there's a part of me that wants to see Gagagigo become it's own playable archetype one day.

Gagagigo has always been my favorite card lore.
Same. No idea that it had expanded since the last time DuelLogs covered it! And it may expand further...

I loved using him and the Risen in my Phantasm Spiral deck in the water & wind event
Fun Fact: Vennominaga’s win condition was passive in the anime. Meaning if it would deal battle damage once to your opponent, in 3 turns they’d die. Can only imagine if the card actually had the anime effect how toxic it would be
Shame that a three turn duel is about as common as a blue moon now.
Actually, it's 3 of your opponent's turns, so really 6 turns. With the speed of current Yu-Gi-Oh, that's...kinda fair, bordering on slow
At least that kinda makes sense lore-wise: Vennominanga 'bites' you and you die slowly from thereon, like being bitten by a venomous snake

One of the most hilarious Iron Chain Snake plays I ever saw was -
Repairman - > Summon Snake -> Infernal Reckless Summon -> Kaiju opponent's monster - Equip all three Snakes to Kaiju -> Attack into Kaiju with almost anything.
You can get 30 cards in GY with that.
It's hilarious - but also doesn't work that consistently.
damn... that's... so convoluted... but it feels like one of those that feels great to pull off XD
"but also doesn't work that consistently"
Gee, you don't say...
Man that Gagagigo lore was honestly some of the best stuff that they put out for a while. Like the power of continuity is strong with Gigobyte!

His effect :" you can put 2 venom counters on a monster."
Yeah, well, that's not very good.
Oh, there's more ? Let's see it :
"If you do, this monster can't attack this turn".
Yup.

All that's really needed for her to become viable is for her Archetype to get some more support Venoms are in desperate need of some
Sadly, we couldn't hear her over the sound of a tribute summoned Kaiju.
Gagagigo deserves his own TV series
Vennominaga the Deity of Poisonous Snakes at #3? Lay off my goat
Yeah personally I would have put her at 10 since shes basically indestructible and has an instant win effect
Definitely would put her lower, maybe #7. Kaijus saying "that's cute" after the work it takes to bring her out is a bummer.
@@benjaminoechsli1941 maybe so, but personally I’d still consider her the best out of all the other cards he listed (not that it’s saying much)
@@benjaminoechsli1941 maybe, but i'm pretty sure the number of kaiju-proof monsters is a single digit
#3 is prob a good place for here these days. Kaiju do her no favors, and she was difficult to summon even in her hayday.
Worms should have their own miracle fusion card
6:53 I will never forgive Masterduel for pushing the idea that Executor is the leader and not Thunderlord. Literally every other account of the lore I’ve read says Thunderlord is in charge. I don’t know who to believe anymore.

Reptiles - a Monster type that will never get the love it deserves, because someone at Konami REALLY regrets printing Snake Rain.
Least they have some cool Lore, even if part of it is the absolute mess that is Duel Terminal in hindsight.
They could if they give that reptile deck zero graveyard use, or better, it doesn't want reptiles in the graveyard.
Yes if only they had some kind of list they could put snake rain on, one that would disallow it's use, sadly such things a simple dream.
Or they could make reptiles graveyard effects but if they did then they banned snake rain cause it’s basically like painful choice

If ran in a dedicated Kaiju deck, Gamaciel's 2nd ability is also really good: its a reusable effect negate if you have kaiju counters on the field that also results in banishing those cards
I would say the worst of the Kaijus is Mecha Dogoran. It cant be used to squish an opponent's monster... and when you summon it, you need kaiju counters AND additional kaiju monsters on hand to give it ATK... no protection too
Reptiles may be a bad type but they sure have good lore
The thing with Iron Chains in the Anime is that their spell "Poisonous Chain" had the effect to Mill cards equal to the combined levels of Iron Chains on your field, not 1 card per monster like on the TCG; That made them quite dangerous as all you had to do was stall and the spell would deck out your opponent in around 4 turns.
Vennominaga the Deity of Poisonous Snakes should be at #10.
Also, I liked the Gagagigo lore.

17:10 Idea to make this card into an Xyz Pendulum with no monster effects, that plays support for non-effect Extra Deck monsters:

Reptile/Xyz/Pendulum
_2+ Level 12 monsters_
ATK/5000 DEF/5000
Basically the card would act as a roided out “Polymerization” for ALL non-effect Extra Deck monsters, and in multiple at that.
Absolute respect for listing off all of Gagagigo's cards in a row without stuttering.

This video went from worst Reptiles to the lore of Gagagigo to the lore of wyrm/ally of justice and back to reptiles which was pretty cool
Not just in Yu-gi-oh, but in other TCG's too
I read that last one as tribute an aqua monster to get 3 attacks and thought "hmm that's steep but maybe worth it." then I reread it...
gagagigo could carry a longer format story focused on the lore of the monsters or at the least an episode of an anthology

20:12 I didn't realize Extra Deck vanillas aren't considered normal monsters until today when I used Instant Fusion to bring out Kamionwizard and tried to link it off into Link Spider lmao
Yeah, there is a distinction between Normal Monsters and Non-Effect Monsters; all Normal Monsters are Non-Effect Monsters, but the inverse isn't true.
The best I can think for Hydra Viper is to slap on Power of the Guardians to make the most use out of its triple attack. Otherwise it's just a serious pain with a summon condition like that.
Kinda want to see Konami remake Vennominaga with a modern strategy at some point.
Alternate win con decks are always interesting to me
Funny, I was looking through some of my old cards earlier today trying to find some copies of A Legendary Ocean and stumbled upon a copy of Hydra Viper and read it just to miss the aqua requirement on it since I thought "huh maybe that would have been useful if you had some Scape Goat tokens on your field you wanted gone back in the day or something" but now that I know the truth of its effect I see that there was no redeeming quality/situation for it like I thought there was.
personally, I won't put Granadora in the list. It's a 1900 Attack beater, which is still rare in IOC era, and on the next set, Ancient Sanctuary, this card has a place for the "High LP" playstyle of the Sanctuary in the Sky deck. It might not be META even at that time, but definitely not the worst reptile around.
It would be interesting too see decks made on a single cards lore like gigabyte whether they’re good or not
Vennomimaga is both a great and an absolutely terrible card.
Because if they print more powerfull cards for them, then that instantly makes her more viable and/or easier to bring out
PS:
Offering to the Snake Deity is also a direct piece of support as it can destroy one of your Reptiles as cost and 2 of your opponent's cards.
0:12 Idea to make this card stronger while matching it up to it’s lore:
_The Fated Gigobyte_ (WATER)
Level 1
0⬅️➡️0
_During your Main Phase, you can Normal Summon 1 Normal monster in addition to your Normal Summon/Set. (You can only gain this effect once per turn.) _⚪️If this Face-Up card you control would leave the field, place it in your Pendulum Zone instead._
ATK/350 DEF/300
So the base “Gigobyte” is featured in more than a few Normal Monster support card artworks, to the Pendulum Effect plays into that by letting you get out more Normal monsters from your Normal Summons (even letting you search out higher level normals if you summon a level 4 or lower one, and visa versa).

THERE, I…
⚪️Spiced up the Pendulum Scales to be 0⬅️➡️13 (to give it some of the best scales in the game to have).
⚪️Put your battle immunity suggestion in the Pendulum effects to apply for Normal Monsters (Which Gemini monsters are treated as while on the field until their Gemini Summon).
⚪️Retuned it’s Special Summon Gemini effect to be used on ANY Normal or Gemini monster from your hand or deck, AND made it a Quick Effect to make it more useful.
⚪️And I collapsed the original “Gigo” or “Byte” Reptile monster summon into the Pendulum Zone self-placement effect, and expanded it to include from the GY (so you can get out the Xyz “Gigo” monster if it’s in said GY.)
@@cullenlatham2366
It took me a while to figure out pendulum monsters too.
XD
Exactly what i mean about being "too broken".
Hydro viper has one advantage of giving a reptile aqua domain. In domain format kind of makes it intresting.
I miss playing my worm/vennominaga deck back before Future Fusion got changed.
Was it a good deck? No.
Was it fun? Yes 😭
@@theAlmightyu haha same... i played worms in my venominaga deck too... although its mostly Cartaros, Yagan and Xex... the rest really arent that good
I also put a few Lswarms, mostly those with self special summoning effect, to allow for some rank 4s like Ophion
So there is a way to cheat out Vennominaga fairly easily, with the card Trap Tracks
Find a way to summon Vennominon (Ogdoadic Water Lily/ Serpent Strike probably being your best options) and set Trap Tracks
Pass turn, flip Tracks. It sets a normal trap from deck that you can use immediately at the cost of destroying a monster. So you get Snake Deity, which has its conditions instantly fufilled since Vennominon was just destroyed by card effect so bam mostly free Vennominaga
Problem then becomes that yeah she doesn't do anything. Hell if you're playing reptiles it means you've got a lot of them in grave and will most likely just kill your opponent with big attack before the hyper counters even come into it AND since you had a bunch in grave anyway you could probably have won much easier much earlier
I seriously need now a "top ten cards that cause confusing ruling"
I love it when we get a bunch of lore-time!
Listening Gigobyte lore rekindled and old desire of mine of having these story arcs adapted in anime. Screw these teenagers with weird hair, dueling in motorcycles. We want to see Gigobyte history!
4:58 Idea to retrain this card to be a better booster for the “Worm” cards:
_Worm Zenith_ (LIGHT)
Level 1
Reptile/Fusion/Effect
_2+ Reptile monsters, including at least 1 “Worm” monster._
_Gains 1 Level and 500 ATK/DEF for each Fusion Material used for this card’s summon, and also gains the following effects. ●2+: Once per turn (Quick Effect), you can Special Summon 1 Reptile or Flip monster from your hand, Deck or GY in Facedown Defense Position. ● 4+: You can Banish 1 Reptile monster from your Hand or Field (Quick Effect); Send 1 card from the field or your hand to the GY. ● 6+: Once per turn (Quick Effect), you can draw 1 card._
ATK/? DEF?/?
Gagagigo is definitely a monster that has its fans, especially if you were a Tag Force player, since the intro deck was Water-type and he was the go-to 4 star monster from that initial Deck.
Hydra Viper just gotta wait for the 3 Aquas to attack directly, then Hydra attacks directly with its 3 attacks tributing the aquas that already attacked. Strongest FTK
im ready for a 3 hour top ten on best lore
I only just realized that Gogiga Gagagigo doesn't have red skin (scales) and that's merely the lighting
Surprising lack of Balloon Lizard! Arguably the worst burn card I've ever seen. And I've seen Sparks.
Say 3 times:
Gagagigo, Giga Gagagigo, Gogiga Gagagigo 😅
Yuma should've mained this card instead of Utopia. XD or at least had it as a secondary like Playmaker's Firewall dragon.
I like Gunslinger** Lore explanation better, just because it not only makes more sense, but it actually goes into better detail.
(Edit: just checked and his name is the one of above)
Gunsling's very short story summary:
He never made a bargain with the Mad scientist but was healed by him after his fights with Freed and the Dark Lord.
Gogiga Gagagigo is such a hilarious name
Gigobyte had a long and Gagagigo Lore in so many Cards.
@@MarioMastar I'm mad enough to have Last Warrior in ED for a Vennominaga deck.
@@MarioMastar Yea I DID point out why Kaiju is a factor against Venominaga if 99% of the boss monsters that are widely used get squished by an angry turtle almost instantly too...
There's even more lore with Gagagigo
He barely did any research, that lore he narrated is outdated af
I still think here needs to be a kind of Gagagigo archetype with maybe some retrains of marauding captian etc
I hope one day there's some wicked powerful Aqua archetype that can clear the board, leave 3 Aquas with a total of 4400 and then somehow pull Hydra Viper as the world's most unexpected OTK tool 😂
Bigagigo fan of the Gagagigo Sagagigo
the only thing they need to do for venomnaga to be useable is adding support to bring her out more consistently
You should do a video on the Top 10 monsters from the “Number” archetype. It’s always been my favourite and I have a near-complete collection.
What do you guys think of my Reptile?
Snake Magician
LIGHT Attribute
Level 2
Reptile / Effect
Cannot be Normal Summoned/Set. Once per turn, during your Standby Phase, Special Summon “Snake Magician” (from your hand) if your opponent controls more cards and has more cards in their hand than you. When this card is Special Summoned by its own effect, you can tribute it to a roll a 6-sided die: Draw cards equal to the result; Shuffle any unplayed cards back into your Deck during your End Phase.
0600 ATK
0400 DEF
Not me thinking that D for the worms was Worm Drake for a second 🤣
All these years later and THIS is how i learn worm zero has a giant skull in its art.
10:07 Bro really mentioned "Jade Insect Whistle" over Chaos Emperor Dragon - Envoy of the End. 😂😂😂💀
Granadoras design always gave me fucking nightmares as a kid
