Good to know! I just started with Zumba a couple of weeks ago and I have already feet pain (and some knee pain as well), I'm wearing running shoes, they're not new so they don't have too much grip on the pavement but still hurts. I'll consider your advice, thank you for the explanation!

Recovering from a broken foot due to Zumba but would like to go back. I bought a new pair of shoes, it didn't slide like my old ones did and I broke the side bone in my ankle and sprained a lot of ligaments!

Shoe repair shop?? Those even exist anymore? I doubt in my area. What do you think about adding the "slip on dancers"- A smooth the strap that you slide over the toe area to decrease The traction.

+Candace Elias I had never heard of them until now but they look great. I just ordered a pair so I can test them. I think you should give them a try. Thanks for the great information!

Ryka sneakers are great! Light weight, very easy to pivot...slides nice! Try them:) I got them at a local shoe store.

Jennifer C RN I tried the Ryka based on others recommendations for Zumba. I bought the Ryka Influence 2.5.
After 1 class of Zumba (I've been going for several months), I had shin splints so bad and my feet were killing me!
Returned them that day! I'm gonna stick with my Nike Flex Trainers!

Bowlers use that too on their sliding shoe.
