- Welcome back to another Max Payne 3 video, I always seem to be coming back to this game. This game holds up like none other, for being a decade old at this point I can't seem to think of any other third-person action game that holds up this well. Honestly i was always surprised while playing the game on ps3. Sure it had slowdowns and things would sometimes pop off during cinematics.
But it didn't happen too much to be distracting. And the gameplay runs smoothly which is the most important part.

It's crazy how Rockstar developed one of the greatest third person shooting mechanics of all time and completely nerfed those same mechanics for RDR2. MP3 is a legendary shooter. I can't help but be somewhat saddened by the soundtrack being turned down for the airport scene, that was legendary. AFAIK it's not flagged in copyright so you should be safe in that sense. Great shooting nonetheless, absolutely cinematic.
You wanted this in RDR2? Sure it could've been better but RDR2's gunplay still feels amazing once you get used to it.. None in this video would fit in a game like Red Dead.

Couldn't agree more, the amount of work they put into every aspect of this game to make it feel as smooth and cinematic as possible whilst still being responsive to play is just incredible, its literally like playing an action movie. Thanks for your awesome videos they are always a joy to watch :)

As much as I love this game I don't think this game was that responsive cause of there being a very noticeable delay between input and action mainly when it comes to the shootdodge other than that this game was incredible
@@SlurpyPie I don't mind it with the shootdodge in particular because the anticipation forces you to use it smartly rather than spam it (which you could do easily otherwise). All the other input delays I could do without though
One of my favorite games of all time. It’s baffling how Rockstar never remastered this game. Say whatya want about Rockstar but their quality is so prestigious that revolutionizing 3rd person shooters forever is a insignificant achievement for them. And it was overshadowed by GTA 5 that only released a YEAR AFTER. I understand that young people will never know how big GTAV was back in the day. It was a damn PS3/360 game, and it’s probably the most “ahead of its time” game we’ve witnessed. The fact that it’s still among the best selling games to this day is a testament to that, regardless of the online.
I agree bro but honestly anyone who grew up with Max Payne 1 and 2 gta4 and max payne 3 was under the impression that GTA5 was going to have a cinematic art style more closely tied to Max Payne 3 and the shooting mechanics were dumbed down way to much. And someone pointed out to me that R* games does not have verticle recoiled in there games just bullet spread which I still find satisfying but had we been able to look into the future and see gta5 for what it was and what it lacked before it came out I don't think it would have done better then its previous IPs from R* after all we had to buy gta5 to know what it was like
Faxxx bro the fact people still playing the 360 ps3 game aka gta 5 like it’s brand new in 2022 shows rockstars prowess for timelessness in their games…rdr2 has a pace that’s slower for most but the timelessness of that game I’m so glad I gave it a second chance it’s just a masterpiece…they want gta 6 to be played for 2 decades also
I remember getting this the night it was released driving to gamestop with my now ex gf and buying it, freaked out when I got home and it was two disks. Played the first disc allllll night. Second one allllll day. Loved how realistic it was. The fact u can shoot dudes and they still twitch and might hit their trigger while dying was insane to me still is

Amazing how satisfying the shooting feels in this game. I always felt they dumbed it down for RDR2. I know it's more of a realistic setting than Max Payne and the shooting follows suit, but I feel it relies on auto aim far to heavily and feels far less buttery smooth than Max Payne 3. They need to revisit this series ASAP.

I just played this through last in nov 2023 and it still holds up so well, genuinly dont think any other 3rd person shooters can come close to this game

This Game is So Good. It is among my Favourite 3rd person shooters of all time. Game Does not bore even for one single second.

There doesn't need to be another entry in the Max Payne franchise, the story ended perfectly with the third game. Also you can't get the gameplay anymore refined than how it already is, Max Payne 3 is just the absolute peak of third person shooters.

@@HamdimusPrime It went for a more cinematic look to really sell the feeling of actually being in an action movie, never understood that complaint about Max Payne 3, its not as if the previous games especially 2 didn't have a lot of stuff to interact with which were a nice bit of additional realism(yes I know you can totally ignore them if you want to, but why would you ?), Max Payne 3 is about precision more than speed, unless you're some kind of obsessive speed freak then you shouldn't have a problem with them.

Honestly still pissed to this day how there's been little to no effort of replicating the combat and adrenaline that Max Payne 3 was able to attain. It's this game I keep coming back to cuz there's this simplicity in its structure. No need for RPG elements or empty open worlds. Just shootout after shootout after shootout. It obviously could've used some polish in how it paced its cutscenes, but, apart from that, Max Payne 3 is still the KING OF THIRD PERSON SHOOTERS! It even managed to utilize a cover system in a much, much more rewarding way than other shooters have.
Rockstar better put these mechanics in GTA6
I always go back and play Max Payne 3, but then I am reminded of their insistence to include nauseatingly bad screen effects in every cut scene, of which there are too many. Amazing gameplay though.

I alway loved the shooting in this it’s soo good. I’m hoping to see this style return one day. I would love to see a marvel title like punisher. I’m a big guardians fan so I’ve always had this idea for a rocket and groot game with type of shooting for Rocket. Doubt it will ever happen but a boy can dream.

Although I consider Vanquish my favourite Third Player Shooter, and a great classic Gears of War fan, MP3 have great gameplay mechanics and is easily one of the top 10 best games of the genre.
the lack of skippable cutscenes and the numerous walking sequences are what keeps this game from being an absolute masterpiece
Idk as someone who normally only plays even my favorite games once that never effected my love for the game.
There were very few walking sequences, they never dragged on. And the cutscenes were always interesting and cinematically appealling. But yeah u should be able to skip them
It depends, but i'm used to playing fast paced games like devil may cry and such, so those interruptions from max payne 3 are quite unpleasant
use a trainer to skip cutscenes

Also I want to take this time out to inform everybody that Max Payne literally was the foundation of RDR2 kill cams if you love the RDR2 kill cams with old weapons you will LOVE this game with modern weapons seeing all the pieces and bolts rocking back and forth as the weapon discharges shell casings I absolutely love Max Payne 3 and it paved the way for gta5 and rdr2 this is the last game released by R* before they obey focused on already established titles and let's not forget the online it was freaking amazing !!!!!!!
RDR2 definitely uses some of Max Payne 3's features such as kilcams and dual wielding but RDR2's combat is not nearly as good as this.

Yeah it’s good 👍 I played it on my Xbox and thought it was really cool 😎 but it’s still good for the action and the story mode is fine too but it’s quite fun and addicting game for Xbox and PlayStation

If you play this game long enough, you see a lot of rare death physics like a dude will still stand up after being shot in the head and genuinely look confused for like four seconds before he actually collapses or I've shot dudes dead and they collapsed still shooting their weapon cuz they died with a squeezed trigger. It's so damn real how all of them react, it's never once the same ever. This game is the pinnacle of spending months and months fine tuning ever aspect of the physics. From shooting to falling to bullet time hitting an object and the body reacting to even NPCs rushing you if you camp too long. Rockstar should seriously teach a seminar on Artificial intelligence. It's no wonder they put some heavy patents on all the aspects of the rage 9 going into GTA 6. GTA 6 is gonna be like this game on crack with rdr2 x3 it's gonna be absolutely nuts. I will gladly pay 150$ for a special edition GTA 6 companies like this deserve exceptionally more money then the rest of most developers. Their work is immaculate. Things we see within 10 seconds of this gameplay have 50 different aspects of perfecting that took literally years to develop and it's flawless. I hope Rockstar recognizes this was a marketing fail and by no means a bad game or with anyone who has a thing bad to say.

I absolutely loved this game on PS3, but the PC port is lacking. The unchangeable mouse acceleration ruins the aiming, which sucks because this game is all about precision.
If this game had the original tone and writing it probably would've been the best in the series.

Rockstar has a lot of hate and controversy, but i must praise them for really giving this game the love it deserved. It's still beautiful til this day! Ahead of it's time for sure and i'm so so happy they green lighted Max Payne 1 & 2 for remakes! Rockstar nailed Max Payne 3 and i know they're going to NAIL the originals omg. So excited! Just imagine Max Payne 1 & 2 with next gen graphics and gameplay mechanics. I have to LIVE to experience this when they release. Hopefully we'll get a teaser trailer or even a brief gameplay trailer in the next year or so. My childhood nostalgia is coming back full throttle. Ive experienced the first 2 games on PS2 when i was younger and they were super phenomenal....These kids today are lucky they'll get to play them in next gen graphics but its well deserved. I've been saying this for years that they need to remake the originals because they deserve to be remade!

They were probably developed alongside each other, Max Payne 3 was released on 2012 while gta 5 in 20113
