- Hi guys, so if you have seen my social media lately then you know what is coming here.
What an amazing experience this was. Monocentropus balfouri are the best tarantulas to keep communally and here we rehouse what started as a commune of 75 in August 2018.

it was adorable with the little one just chillin on the lid while you tried to get the other into the enclosure lol quick little buggers
That was amazing. Could believe how many were in the skull! Makes me feel more confident about rehousing my 5!
This has to be one of the coolest setups ever!
70 balfouris holy shitake. Can't wait to see what the little webbers will do to their new enclosure. ^^
This is amazing! Would love to see an update on how they've settled in their new bigger enclosure 😍
Thanks buddy. I have just pinned a comment with a link to one update I done a while ago. There are a couple more through my videos. One about 2 or 3 uploads ago 👍
Now that's what I call an epic rehouse! You were definitely lucky to be a part of that. The new setup is amazing and I can't wait to see what they do with it when they start to web it up. Great video, Ian
Thanks Robert. I can't wait to visit again and get an update on them.
Oh my word that is a lot of balfouri's!
And I thought my lot of 10 was a lot!
That's insane. I've never seen a communal with so many. So cool. It's a gonna be a chore to rehouse them next time.
Absolutely brilliant mate. I'm so looking forward to seeing the update video and those are some Beautiful T's. Take care.
If I am honest I wasn't that keen a few months ago on them but honestly working with Graeme on this has really opened my eyes on how cool these little guys are and gradually becoming one of my favourite.
I can’t have been the only one secretly cheering the attempted escape attempts!
Haha that certainly would have been interesting 😂😂😂
Ian Tarrantula I may have been sat there literally saying “common.... yes yes ... nooooo they got you!!!
That tank looks so amazing and to have a group that big must be a first as never seen a group so big
Yeah I haven't seen one with as many. It truly was incredible.
Truly amazing
I only have 4 in mine but thinking of doing 10 in the future
Looks like that went as smooth as one would expect rehousing 70 balfouris would be. Controlled chaos lol. But seriously...that's amazing. And they were much more chill than I thought they would be...good thing too since several went running up your arms lol. It makes the prospect of one day attempting a 6 balfouri communal much less daunting in comparison.
Brilliant job guys, looking forward to the updates and can’t wait to see it after they’ve made their home improvements!!
Absolutely fantastic 🙌🏼 love it!!
I just now got to see this - Wow - it is awesome! Definitely looking forward to watching the future progression.
Only just seen this....omg this was awesome and fascinating to watch. Hope you ended up with 70 in the new enclosure with no escapees. The enclosure is stunning and that must be a real joy to just sit and look at .
The enclosure looks amazing! But damn that's alot of balfouri's xD
Don't even want to think about feeding that many haha
Yeah it really is. I can't wait to see what they do with it once webbed up
Wow that's amazing. Just awesome to watch that. Going to see if I can find an update of that on your channel now. Cheers from Canada.
I’ve enjoyed watching your video sooo much. My other half has a balfori communial. I’m getting my own soon ♥️. Thank you Ian
Wow, some serious balls on show there. Will be following to see what happens next. Outstanding vid x
Thank you 🙂
Awesomeness!
That just blew my mind. Great camera angles. I just started a communal of 4 balfouri I just got from a show, last four they had. Tank set-up was great.
Thank you. Hope yours are doing great. They truly are awesome
@@IanTarrantula They are awesome. 2 hang out like best buds all the time with their legs hugging each other. So cute! Keep us updated Ian. So cool. Lucky you had help.
Hi guys. Thanks for all the kind words. Absolutely blown away. A few have asked for an update. This was done a few months after:

Wow I'm arachnophobic forcing myself with exposure therapy and even I am speechless. What a fascinating experiment. I can't wait to follow their lives. This is better than Coronation Street!
Thanks for watching 🙂 I hope I can help you overcome your fear.
Love it!
I need to order a sub/adult male in the states (any recommendations?) to pair with my female. I just got her in a nice sized enclosure to get paired in and to get ready for raising up slings. Can't wait 🤘🏻
70!! That was fun to watch.
This is how Eight-Legged Freaks 2 begins. 😘
I am curious about communal tarantulas, and this video pop up while i am searching.😍 Someday I will have M balfouri😍
Damn! This is freaking crazy 😂 new subscriber here just enjoying your vid. Keep it up. 🇵🇭
Thank you 😊

Wow, incredible!!! Approximately how long did this take in real time? The patience I'm assuming this required is legendary!
Thanks. If I remember rightly it took about two hours to get them all out of the original tub.
Holy crap. Wish I had as many, I mean...hooow
Wow
Wow!! That’s a lot of Balfouris. Loved this video. The new enclosure is perfect for them. Loved the shot of the huge group of them piled up in back corner. They were lined up to the top. I’ve still gotta get me a Balfouri. Anyways, great rehousing vid. Really enjoyed it and can’t wait for update vid!!
Yeah it really is unbelievable. Yeah definitely get one at least. I have a little tiny sling which has made an incredible home.
Badass👍👍🤘🤘🕷❤
Ty that was very entertaining! My favorite was when one ran up the guys arm. Are they all basically the same size? They sure are fast glad I found this channel
Thanks for watching 🙂 at the time they were all the same size. They all came from the same egg sac. Now there are a few that are slightly bigger than the others.
@@IanTarrantula how large are they DLS? I'm looking to buy one but not a sling or juvie. I have too many of those lol
That is a LOT of balfouri
That is very impressive! No matter what that must have been a staggering price tag. I can't even picture the price of all of them plus enclosure for sale at an expo lol! I was curious though if all 75 were from the same eggsac? I know I've read new specimens can be introduced to a group already established, but I know it's more of a garentee they cohabitate as siblings so I was curious if I could factor that data into my observations. When I'm able to pair mine when they mature I was wondering the possibility of a large ecosystem communal vivarium being possible, and seeing this video was a big help with that idea thank you! You have a pretty sweet setup for them as well. Is the enclosure custom? Sorry for the few lost, but out of that many that's still awesome. Props for the video.
Hi. Yes these were raised from the same sac and it was amazing to get the result we did in the numbers. Graeme has done a fantastic job with the enclosure and I will be doing an update on it soon as i have seen some photos and it is looking impressive. I am looking into the possibility of introducing a single sling to my communal of 5 to see if it gets accepted. Just been speaking to a few different people with different opinions on it.
@@IanTarrantula that's awesome bro, and thank you again for the info and feedback. I'll have to go back and check because the variance between different species, and average total eggs per sac is pretty wide. And with this species I hear alot of stories about having issues taking the sac like with other species and such so all available info definitely helps factor things for the future. I have a #5 communal as well. And I can say I've thought the same, but I'll stick with this for now to see how everything goes. I'm pretty sure 1 of mine I got was from a different eggsac even though i bought them all together on a communal deal, but could have just been randomly a bit bigger then the others wich were identical for the most part, it was just slightly different then the rest. But I watched closely as they interacted (amazingly unique with this species commumally) and watched the whole pecking order/tapping hierarchy take place with the others. At 1st I wasn't too sure what to expect, but they all have been doing awesome, and that larger one definitely seems like the others follow, and after all this time have confirmed they are all still there! By far one of the coolest Tarantulas to get for a number of reasons besides it's award winning looks lol. And if it wasn't for the price and lightning speed bolting they can do, I would even recommend them to beginners! Thanks again man.
How many time did you get bit. That was a cool video. I am thinking about buying a setup with 5 of these in it.
None of us got bit. They are pretty chilled out. I definitely recommend getting them 👍
I think I'm watching another eight legged freak s movie 😆 😆
So many
What is the substrate you're using and what's the brand? I like the look and it appears firm for burrowing.
Why have I never seen this channel?
Omg squiggly pee so many baulforis lol. Looks like there was some escapis
We had a few runners 😂 but all were accounted for in the end. I had to grab one off Tims back at one point 😂😂😂
Wow. No biting or threats at all?
Nope, none at all. It was amazing!
I want to see you feed them all at one time
I have a video here:
ruclips.net/video/785E0keWlu8/видео.html
how do you feed that many tarantulas?
is there an update video?
Like this 😉 ruclips.net/video/785E0keWlu8/видео.html
Question: how do you know if one of them is molting when you want to rehouse? Do you just rehouse anyway or try to leave the one molting alone?
This question also goes for those who are still fragile having just molted
@@evils.presley sorry for the delay in replying. It is just a risk you have to take. We got lucky this time that none were moulting at the time. You just have to try and be as gentle as you can.
Holy shit lol
What do you feed them
We feed them crickets.
ruclips.net/video/785E0keWlu8/видео.html
I have a m. Balfouri communal 10 in one enclosure
That's awesome 🙂 what size are they?
how on earth do you feed that many spiders in one tank? would one or two just not eat everything?
A whole tub of crickets 🙂
If I only had the funds and space, i only got a small group of 6
How do you feed all those 70 spiders?
ruclips.net/video/785E0keWlu8/видео.html
Like this 😉
Can we get an update?
Check out my latest video 🙂
Lord of the rings
how many are there!?!?!? did u just dump the whole egg sac into it? lol
Yes a whole sac were originally put in. There were 75 to begin with and when I helped Greame rehouse we counted 70. We guessed there would probably be about 50 so very surprised at how many were there. It was an unbelievable experience.
@@IanTarrantula wow.. That's a lot.. hahaha
How many Ts are there now?!😯🙆♂️
We did an update a couple of years ago where we trimmed down to about 25 females
Are these poisonous?
They are venomous. All Tarantulas have venom. These are higher in potency but as you can see from the video they would prefer to run and hide rather than bite.
are u sure is not dangerous spike on fake or true plants you put in?
The plants are fake 🙂
Its endless lol
I'm not really afraid of spiders. But this shit is really messed up
How many weeks does tarantula be pregnant? Any idea please? 😌 for vagans
I have heard it can be several months before a vagans to drop a sac
What happend if u drop a wasp in communal tarantula's home.?
Natural they wouldn't live that close no utube videos of mass cohabitating in the wild
There is no RUclips video on them in the wild full stop. So how do we know they don't live like this in the wild?? Surely this behaviour hasn't just occurred in a matter of years in captivity. If so then we would have seen more species being kept communally as successful as M. balfouri 🤷♂️
We nuke it from orbit, its the only way to be sure....seriously though...I was soooo much happier before I saw this! Now I'd you'll excuse me I have to find a well lit, open spider free space so I can curl up in the fetal position and sob quietly
🤣🤣🤣
Great video but the shit music is unbearable.
Royalty free music usually is shite.
Turn the volume down.
Problem solved 👍
