I have been getting them at random from the daily activity reward bags. Unfortunately, they are still hard to get, and it don't know if they are obtainable through the field investigations. I haven't done all of the investigations, but out of all the ones that I have done, I could only find the 3rd gen epic flute.

The two best ways to get coins are from the space Time Tower and the nighttime eevee treasure.
