    I would’ve liked to see more in depth of the color analysist talking to the other girls as she did with Sierra. If you're shopping for a specific color palette, online is NEVER a good option. The screen you use can make the colors of the items look more blue toned or yellow toned. I face palmed myself when Sierra took a picture of her palette to online shop distorting the colors of the palette even more.
    Safiya did a similar video to this one and she went shopping with her color swatches, it was really well done, so professional if someone's interested in learning more about color analysis.

    There were too much people. If this many ppl-- the video needs to be longer I think. Maybe the algorithm wouldn’t like that- you’ll know that part- you’re the expert.

    I was truly surprised when she said that she couldn’t see undertones on people on the street. When color theory had its big break through in the late 80s I read everything I could find about it and used to carry swatches to color theorize all of my friends. I could see in a second what colors all of you were except the girl with purple hair since that distracted to much. You all became absolutely gorgeous though! Great fun to see the come back of this very flattering system. 💕

    • @tomjones2157
      @tomjones2157 Год назад +4

      @GalaentertainmentBlizzmia69 it's not true, some people are very easy to tell the undertone as you can compare to the clothes on them and surrounding colours. People on the street aren't nude!. I knew Sierra was a Summer the first second I saw her on screen years ago. I think that particular colour analyst struggles a bit. Anyone can learn but people with an artistic eye will get it so much quicker than her as it's an inborn talent to them. Like those musical people with perfect pitch, some are also better than others at seeing small differences of colour.

In my country, I see loads of clothes in autumn/ warm colors. It must be tough to buy clothes for those who are cool-toned. I've also tried to analyse many of my compatriots - I think we're mostly warm toned (we're brown POCs).

    • @JoneseyBanana
      @JoneseyBanana Год назад +11

      I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't have dark enough shades for her - the mainstream beauty and makeup world is still behind on shade inclusivity as it is, and whenever I've watched content from colour analysis consultants they tend to heavily focus on lighter skin tones. I guess it's an older method that's coming back into vogue, and their training probably wasn't very inclusive back in the 80s. Hopefully if that was the issue they've now realised that they need to expand their range.

The teacher had a bunch of color swatches - they were rectangles with a curve cut out (to hold up to your chin. Your group members would tell you if the color looked good with your skin tone.
    I was saying that I knew I don't look good in pink. Our teacher overheard, and she interrupted. She said that I just needed to right shade of pink (meaning with different undertones). We tried EVERY SINGLE PINK swatch. There were like 50+ pinks. After going through all of them, the teacher chuckled and said that I was the first person ever to take her class that didn't look good in ANY pink! I said it was all good since I hate pink, lol.

    My mom was a professional color consultant when I was little, so I've been hearing what my "best colors" are my whole life! It is so fascinating! I'm a winter. 😊

      It must've been cool to have a mom who's a color consultant. Did you ever wear colors not in your palette? And if you did (and your mom saw you) - did she say anything?

    • @amieoss
      @amieoss Год назад

      @Kitty S I pretty much stuck to any color, but yellowish tones all the way from yellowish orange to lime green. I have definitely had moments while shopping where I'd hold something yellow up and say how cute it is, and she'd ask if it came in a different color. She taught me to hold it up to my face in a mirror. It makes me look very sallow and sickly, so I get where she's coming from. My mom is a lovely lady, though, and she wouldn't make me feel bad if I wore something she didn't like. I love yellow, and I can get away with it if it isn't right by my face. Cardigans are okay because the yellowish light doesn't bounce up and make me look ill.

      @@amieoss thanks for the reply. Your mom sounds like a cool mom! I'm curious - do/ can you wear orange? Most cool toned ppl that I know - orange looks bad on them (as does orange-ish lipstick).

    • @amieoss
      @amieoss Год назад

      @Kitty S I can wear reddish oranges, but yellow toned orange looks bad. Peach is fine as long as it has enough pink and not too much orange. Orange lipstick is a definite no go!

    Great video. I was not surprised by Riayn being a winter. A little surprised by Sierra being a summer I thought she may have been a soft autumn. I loved everything that was picked from Thredup. What a great experience.

    Thredup has its pros but they're estimated prices are usually way off. I used to work at J. Crew for years and that cashmere sweater tee was 95.00 even full price. I have a vivid memory of trying to calculate how much it would be with my discount lol.
