This HANDS DOWN is Lives Best Performance EVER. GOD DAMNNNN!!!!! I wish I would have been at this show!! They really brought it hard Tremendous energy in that venue!!!!
@@guyincognito566 Just watched that for the first time since it originally aired. I remember being blown away by it as a kid and Heropsychodreamer also. They were on fire then.
This was one of the greatest live performances by Live or any other band ever. The crowd was sooo into the song and the band blew the roof of that place. I watch every couple weeks coz it charges me up. Still can not get over the POWER of this song live.
Fucking seriously. The buildup, and the release at the end is not something I've heard of any song. And the audience singing along, all of those people releasing all of that energy, it is extremely fun to watch. Being there mustve been life changing.
@@andyturpen That's a lot of assumptions there. I did buy Secret Samadhi back in 1997... the album I find is not spoken of much when people talk about Live.. it's always about Throwing Copper. I love the loud and quiet dynamic and the use of the orchestra on this song with Ed's soaring/shouting vocals.
rotov80 agreed. too bad after throwing copper most ppl never even heard this song or this album. after this they basically became an underground band for a cpl albums then broke up.
+Dayna Tomaine Secret Samadhi was a number one album and Distance to Here was number four. Not sure if you're based in the states but here in Australia, and most countries they were still pretty big until 2006.
If someone would ask me: could you give me a proper definition about 'good music', the only right answer is this video ! Damn, what a great band and Ed really is The Man !
What a powerful performance! One can’t help but be moved emotionally by such intensity…very few bands have that effect on people. And the crowd…another level!!
you know a lot of people thought that Ed, had started doing H. at one point because of how his performances had changed in a way that wasn’t as reserved previously to his change.. and yeah he was on an H. high but not heroin no, he was on a Holy high. He was one who was chosen to meet with their mouthpiece , advocate, comforter, council, for counsel and to see eye to eye their faith in flesh . I think that would make anyone shout louder, walk lighter, probably got a good jolt of grace, peace, and hope being blessed and sharing from the same cup..
I bought this concert Blue-Ray shortly after it was released and it remains one of my all-time favorites as the band is on fire, the crowd is really into it and it's filmed in an iconic intimate venue which takes the show to another level. So glad Ed is back in the fold where he belongs...LIVE rocks!
Gotta be from somewhere, why not good ole shittowne york pa, my home.lol ive loved playing dtum covers of their stuff for years, i should upload it sometime, see what others think.
Such a great performance! I always LOVE when you can tell the band is having (almost) just as good of a time as the crowd is. Especially after all these years!
I have always thought that Secret Samadhi was Live's best album and this is definitely their best track, but there are a bunch of good songs on that album and I never really understood why that album didn't get the love that it should have got. It kind of got looked over, except for the few of us that had this album and would go around playing this song for everyone. Me back in the early 2000's, forget throwing copper or dolphins cry, Secret Samadhi is where it's at. Still blows my mind that it didn't do better on the charts then it did. It had everything you could have wanted from an alternative rock band in late 90's early 2000's. That perfect blend or weird dark and mysterious without being too depressed or introverted, the right amount of bravado and heaviness with just the right amount of beautiful melodic lines, and his vocal always tying it all together. Still one of my favorite albums of that time period. Definitely one of the underrated ones, same goes with Silverchair's album that had David Helfgott playing piano on "Emotion Sickness" which was just epic in my opinion. Neon Ballroom was the name of that album. Neither of those got the radio play I would have expected them to get and both bands were coming off of huge albums before those 2 albums. I don't get it. I know people that loved Frogstomp and knew some of their songs of that album, but you mention Neon Ballroom and they have no idea. Maybe they had heard Anthem for the year 2000, but that's it. Which is crazy because while that is a great song and surely written to be the single of that album, when you hear emotion sickness, with a full orchestra and a famous concert pianist (that they had just made a movie about right before that album came out called "Shine") Anyways who know these things. I'm just happy to have been deep enough into my music addiction by that time that I was finding stuff like that and jamming out to it and sharing it with my friends. But if you like this song and haven't checked out the whole album yet, I encourage you to do so. I think it has a lot of good tracks on it. Graze, Rattlesnake, Turn My Head, Freaks just to name a few. If all of Lives work was like that Album, they would be even higher on my list of all time favorite bands. But they made on there nevertheless. Tool, A Perfect Circle, Deftones, Live, Dave Matthews Band, Primus, Mudvayne, Nirvana, Soundgarden, Alice in Chains. Hey, I grew up in the 90's, so it's not that suprising I guess. We lived through a better time musically then I realized at the time. But I think that just keeps happening over and over again. People always look back and romanticize the previous generations (in the 90's we were doing it to the "70s music, which did have some great music come out, I mean Jeff Beck alone......) as having been better music and it was the "golden age" of whatever (just like now the 90's looks like the golden age of hip hop), but the truth is that every generation has had some great stuff happening if you just knew where to look. When people tell me that there is no good music being made these days, I just scoff and say, you're not looking hard enough because there is more stuff being put out right now then there ever was, and it is easier then ever for artists to put out quality music and if you can't find something you like, it is because your not looking hard enough. Plain and simple. There is too much awesome stuff being put out in literally every single Genre you can think of and a few you don't even know about yet. Happy Hunting.
it is so funny how their performances have converted from oh live is just ok and they see them and go HOLY SHIT that is one of the best shows i ever seen
Fuuuuuuuck! I wish I was there!!! My band covered this song , and I Alone. I was lead singer of Curious Synics, shout out to our fans!! Throwing Copper.....So dam good!! "Gotta live, gotta live, gotta live ....in Shit Town......" Who's feelin' me...!!!
I guess most people haven't listened to Mental Jewelry , I think that was their first CD.. Pain lies on the riverside , was the first song I heard from Live, and I was hooked .
If you didn't now any better, you'd think Ed and Chad actually liked each other. It's sad that at time, the band was on the verge of breaking up. What a great live Live performance

damn! using karaoke this May 22 and singing this at my birthday... I'm 65 and no doubt gonna kick it... been rehearsing for 20 years! lol
How was it? ☺️
🤘
Wow just realized you haven't experienced Live until you've experienced Live LIVE
Valerie Peterson Agreed
i have 12 times
never seen a bad show from them ever
The best Live show that I've seen in person was back in '93 in Clarkston, Michigan at Pine Knob. Yes Pine Knob, that was before the DTE naming fiasco.
It’s true .. they’re awesome live .. I love this tune
This HANDS DOWN is Lives Best Performance EVER. GOD DAMNNNN!!!!!

Tremendous energy in that venue!!!!

I’d swear the Spirit, was there provoking that kind of energy .. I mean you can feel it just watching it , hearing it ..
every single emeffing person in that audience knew those lyrics, incredible!
I know, right?!?! What an awesome experience for the crowd AND the band! 🤙
Probably the best version of this song ever played. Amazing performance and a great crowd.
Absolutely. Easily the best performance of this song I've Ever heard. Wow
Their snl performance was straight up incredible: vimeo.com/49057825

It’s 2022 and this song still goes hard af!
The most under rated band ever
Reckon - I've seen them in New Zealand 3 times & once in Australia - one of my favorite bands
The crowd singing along is incredible !!
This has to be the definitive version of this song! The band and the crowd coming together as one! Amazing!
This song was ahead of its time.
If someone would ask me: could you give me a proper definition about 'good music', the only right answer is this video ! Damn, what a great band and Ed really is The Man !

This was simply just AMAZING! And I WAS THERE!
Wow how fortunate you are to have actually been there for this AMAZING PERFORMANCE!!! Crowd was absolutely Fucking EN FUEGO
I saw them in Asbury Park some years ago. They played this song. It was the best concert I've been to in my 59 years.
I've been searching for this song for about 10 years!!! I 'm so happy to hear it at least!!! GREAT!!
I love this band, but man, these guys are the loudest band I've EVER heard and that includes Rush, The Who, KISS, Ted Nugent...very good band.
Tried looking up Live " Live" .
Three years later I found one of their songs. ❤
For the Love of All.. this version .. yaaazzz love .. wow.. caused a big physical reaction in my body .. talk about energy..
Absolutely incredible this version of this song.
I knew this wasn’t an American crowd. Looked up where this was. Europe goes hard
Seeing them the summer with STP. Will be my 20th show. Can't wait.
so much energy...
so much energy. love the stompin' at the beginning!!
And end
From another dimension, taking us to other dimensions... chills. ❤
THE ENERGY IS VERY, VERY ......
"GOD"
I will show this to my children to understand the time before they were born
In all concerts they perform like this! they are a great band! love LIVE!
You know it's the finale when the vision switcher is changing between cameras like they're playing Galaga.

Chad Taylor throws it down hard!!! 👍
The crowd performance is right up there with Rush XYZ in Rio....Crowd was totally lit.
Not since The Who have I seen or heard anything with this much power and energy, electrifying the crowd no end. So well done!

The last time I saw this was about 10-15 years ago. I'd forgotten the name of the song.... Here it is!!!!!! AWESOME!
burned my eyes on that one
Outstanding song absolutely timeless 😎😎😎
as an afterthought I love this fucking album and song. Brought my husband from his dark side when his father died.
Oh, a megaphone! How original...
